Our good friend Tom has contacted us regarding a lovely looking game called 'Tiny Thor', that is not only available for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch and Steam OS/Linux, but features true 16-bit pixel art from Henk Nieborg, and the musical talents of the legend that is Chris Hülsbeck! This game which is a Jump'n'Run, goes beyond the usual genre, and combines elements of both action, puzzles and even skills with a unique ability to use your hammer as a powerful throwing weapon.
I've always been a fan of the dungeon crawler, there's something to be said about moving through a dark underground passage, looking for loot, avoiding traps and fighting the many beasts that lurk within. In actual fact I'm more inclined to play an old retro first person grid based crawler than any top down modern one that's released today. Do we have some great retro gaming news for you, as that legendary game character Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog game series, which appeared on multiple systems such as the the Sega Master System, Sega Megadrive and Sega Game Gear. Will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and PC as 'Sonic Origins'; a brand new collection that brings you 4 fully remastered titles: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles arriving June 23rd, 2022 from SEGA. In 1987 Sega released the great side-scrolling platform game ' Alex Kidd ' for the Sega Master System console. Although it was first released in Japan in 1986 but internationally in 1987, it was one of the most well known games as it was also built into most Master System II's. As such it came as no surprise to us, that when we mentioned it way back in 2018 way before IGN and other sites that this was game was being remade by Merge Games and Jankenteam, it set our twitter feed alight with excited retro gaming retweets across the globe.
