Dungeons and Dragons Animated Series Fan Based Brawler gets a PC release!

I'm sure you'll agree with me there are some very good OpenBOR games out there, taking the best of well known characters from fighting anime's and movies and putting them against deadly foes in the latest fan based games. But today we have a special treat for those of you who grew up through the 80's, as ZVitor has released the Dungeons and Dragons Animated Series (Fan Game): A direct homage to Capcom's classic D&D Arcades such as "King of Dragons" and one of the best Cartoon TV shows which ran from 1983 through to 1985.

OpenBOR - 2D side scrolling engine gets an Amiga port!


A nice bit of Amiga news to the end the week as the 2d side scrolling engine of ' OpenBOR ' has been fully ported over to the Amiga thanks to lantus360, although you will need at least an Amiga with a fast 68040 AGA or RTG to play it. If you're wondering what OpenBOR is all about, it's an open source continuation of Beats of Rage and Streets of Rage and is regarded as the single most powerful two dimensional sprite based engine in the world, which has been used for countless freshly designed beat em ups from fan based developers.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza! - Another great looking 80's beat em up! (Early Access)


Just recently I gave you the heads up for Zvitor and Maru's rather cool looking beat em up ' Marvel Infinity War ', which was developed using OpenBOR and made available for the PC. But now it's time to move away from Marvel and look towards those hugely popular characters 'The Teenage Mutant Turtles'. Once again using OpenBOR and again a beat em up, this one is called ' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza! ' and features all your favourite characters kicking ass, as if it was the 80's!

Marvel Infinity War - Zvitor and Maru's PC Beat Em Up looks rather cool!


It's been a long time since we've featured a good looking fighting game and so to change that, here's a new game developed by Zvitor and Maru using OpenBOR, ' Marvel Infinity War '. This excellent looking game available for your PC, is a throw back to the days of the side scrolling beat em ups from the Mega Drive and arcade machines we used to play and love. It features many characters from the Marvel Universe such as Wolverine, Captain America, Spiderman, The Hulk and many more in a battle against multiple foes that seriously need a good kicking!

Double Dragon Reloaded - A near Arcade experience brings back the nostalgia


Friday just gets better and better as another game has hit our news feeds and it's none other than Double Dragon, or shall I say 'Double Dragon Reloaded' by MAGGGAS using OpenBOR. First released way back in the 80's by Taito Corporation, Double Dragon was a fantastic beat 'em up game that featured high grade fighting two player fun on many different systems such as the Amstrad, Amiga and C64. But now you too can play Double Dragon as an unofficial reloaded version which is a mix of Double Dragon 1, 2 and includes elements from Double Dragon Advanced.

Sonic SatAM Liberations - Four player beat 'em up based on the 1993 American TV series

Golden Axe Genesis - An awesome take on the arcade classic!


Good morning gamers have we got a treat for you this morning. It's "Golden Axe : Genesis " version 3.01; SEEPS latest PC imagining of the Arcade hit beat em up Golden Axe series of games. The developers are calling it the hypothetical sequel as if it was actually developed for the Mega Drive. Using OpenBOR with a great list of features such as 13 characters,  secret characters, 3 game modes, story mode with different branches, mutilation killings, thieves, hostages, wild beasts, own moves per characters and an original soundtrack this is another awesome SEEP game that deserves be downloaded and played.

Power Rangers: Beats of Power - Top quality free beat 'em up!


GO GO POWER RANGERS! Ah those where the days, I can't remember how many times I watched the show on TV and of cause the big movie. But then I grew up and now think it's a right load of, well you get the idea. So it was great to see today that Merso X and collaborations has developed Power Rangers: Beats of Power, which is a brand new beat 'em up based on the retrotastic Power Rangers and fused it with Beats of Rage.

Marvel First Alliance 2 - The latest kick ass free beat 'em up!


Sometime last year we featured possibly one of the better OpenBor beat 'em ups to hit your PC and that was Marvel First Alliance by Brazilian Developer Zvitor. Well today we have a new release that further improves upon the original with far more ass kicking than you can possibly take. Marvel First Alliance 2 is inspired by the greats such as Streets of Rage and Double Dragon and a game that not just fighting purists will enjoy but those that enjoy the Marvel characters!

Simpsons Treehouse of horror - Excellent free Beat em up based on a hit classic!


Originally released in 1991, The Simpsons Arcade game which was based on the original cartoon series featured non stop beat em up action with all your favourite characters. It was such a great game that many hours were spent throwing away the coins oblivious to the ticking clock behind you. Each character had set moves and personalities fitting perfectly with the cartoon. Bart had his skateboard and Marge had her hoover, you could even combine the two characters together all in the aim to get Maggie back from Mr Burns. It wasn't an easy game and having up four players really helped, especially with the amount of bad guys that you needed to beat up. Well fast forward to now and we have a special treat to show you in the form of Simpsons Treehouse of horror, which is a brand new game using the OpenBor engine that you just have to play!

Super Mario Brawl - Beat Em Up



What do you get, if you mix the plumber platformer of Super Mario and the arcade beat em up of Beats of Rage? The answer to that is, Super Mario Brawl! This rather strange side scrolling mix was developed by SEEP and created using the OpenBOR engine, which is a good tool for beat em up games. Play as either Mario or Luigi in story mode or arcade mode, using special moves and power-ups and fight against well known enemies straight from the original Mario games.

Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins - Beat em up


Hadouken!!! oops sorry wrong game, this is Mortal Kombat : Outworld Assassins which is a fan based game based on Mortal Kombat. Thanks to magggas, you can now play this brutal beat em up on your PC and PSP in all it's fatality glory! MK:OA uses the OpenBOR engine and contains a number of available characters to use, 3 player co-op and a kick ass soundtrack.
