For those of you who haven't heard of this game before, the original was released on the Atari 8bit in 1983 and MS-DOS in 1984 by Bill Williams and published by Synapse Software, and puts you in control of Freddy the Cat on a challenging mission to rescue his Cat love, Felicia.

Speedball 2 Ultimate is coming to the C64 but testers are needed!

Lets go back to the 90's, a time of violent handball and ice hockey action, in which violence meets goal scoring antics that appeared in our homes on the Acorn Archimedes, Atari ST, Amiga, Amiga CD32, PC, Commodore 64, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Master System, Game Boy and even the Game Boy Advance. Yes it is none other than Speedball 2, a 1990 game developed by Bitmap Brothers as the sequel to the 1988 game Speedball. So why am I mentioning this game you might ask? Well Ste'86 and Excess are working on a rather nice C64 overhaul called Speedball 2 Ultimate!

H.E.R.O II - Original C64 action classic overhaul gets a new v2 preview!

Sometime back we mentioned the work in progress enhancement of the original C64 game of H.E.R.O, which was first released way back in the 1980's for the Atari 800/2600, ColecoVision, C64, C128, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Now titled as ' H.E.R.O II ', with updates by the same developer Retrofan who is behind the upcoming Bombjack remaster. Has felt that the original was lacking in the graphics department as it looked and played hardly any better than the Atari 2600 version. As such also thanks to maltes they have decided to make it look so much better as an overhaul, that is previewed in the second update version released by Raiders of the Lost Empire.

What do you get if you mix The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past with a bit of Conker’s Bad Fur Day? Most likely this latest incredible overhaul ROM hack from SePH and team, 'Conker's High Rule Tail'. According to Romhacking this release was initially built as a spiritual sequel to Parallel Worlds, but the project has evolved so much overtime that eventually it became an unofficial sequel to an M Rated game that was released late in the Nintendo 64 lifespan, none other than Conker’s Bad Fur Day!

In 1982 Melbourne House, developed by Philip Mitchell and Veronika Megler, released 'The Hobbit' for a multitude of systems including the ZX Spectrum, C64, Amstrad CPC, BBC, MSX, Dragon 32 and Oric. It was based on a famous book originally written by J.R.R Tolkien and featured an illustrated text based adventure with commands such as North, East and Look. Fantasy Soundtrack Project - Skyrim gets a much needed musical overhaul

Don't get me wrong I love Skyrim. I love playing it and modding it, and even though it is an AAA title, there are many modders out there working hard pushing the details to new heights. Yes we are Indie/Retro related, but modders are independent and many of them get our respect. But the mod that blew me away out of all of them was "The Fantasy Soundtrack Project". A soundtrack, musical overhaul by aceeqmodding that I'd highly recommend for all of you Skyrim owners. "Fantasy Soundtrack Project" provides 700+ minutes (10+ hours) of new music for TESV: Skyirm. 195+ orchestral and instrumental fantasy/epic music tracks for exploring, towns, taverns and castles.
