Beneath A Steel Sky - Classic Adventuring for Free (PC Playable)
Game Type : Adventure
Amiga Launcher Developer : The Company.pl
Original Developer : Revolution Software
Game Info : This is one of the all time greatest Adventure games ever created! Not only did it appear on the Amiga, it also appeared on the PC(DOS) and has a large retro following. Released in 1994 and set in a cyberbunk, sci-fi back drop, had your character Robert Foster trying to escape from Union City and to uncover the corruption which lies at the heart of society. There is even a cool intro to this game and it has a great story, of which I won't spoil! It wasn't just the story which made this game great, but nifty puzzles, cool backgrounds and other characters make this a worthy choice of play on any system. Although the original PC version is available on gog.com, there is an Amiga version that's free too! Thanks to The Company.pl, the Amiga version has been released/updated to version 2.6 so you can now play this on your PC with higher graphical filters.

Dropsy: A Surreal Exploration Based Adventure Game (kickstarter)
Game Type : Classic point and click adventure
Developer/Project By : Jay Tholen
Kickstarter Goal : $25,000
Developer Quote : Guide a sweet but accident-prone clown through strange worlds in a fresh take on the classic point and click adventure.
Game Info Quote : Dropsy is an open world adventure game with an emphasis on surreal atmospheric elements and environmental storytelling. It extracts the humor and rich narratives from classic adventure games (like Monkey Island, Full Throttle, or Grim Fandango) and places them into a unique exploration based framework. Though its roots are in the point-and-click games of old, Dropsy will be an almost entirely text-free experience. There are still colorful characters to communicate with, but the dialogue is handled visually rather than linguistically. This is enhanced by expressive animation and detailed surroundings. Alum - A Sierra/LucasArts-style Point and Click Adventure (kickstarter)
Retro adventure games seem to be really popular lately, especially ones that have that Sierra style about them. You know the type, old school point and click with a cursor that turns into specific actions. This is Alum, which is a new kickstarter based on those very classic point and click adventure games, that has an original storyline, lots of characters, puzzles and yes that all important multipurpose action cursor. Alum will also include an amazing original soundtrack of musical excellence to help craft the dynamic atmospheres. Ranging from driving beats to ambient orchestrations. So far the kickstarter has only made $650 of a $10,000 goal, but there is still 16days to go, so there is still hope!
The Search for Oceanspirit Dennis - Point-and-click adventure
The Search for Oceanspirit Dennis is a new point and click adventure title from OneDollar Productions. It's also the developer's fifth point and click adventure that did not have the restraints of a competition time limit. Thus much more time was spent developing the title, so the end result is a good one. Featuring a rewarding medal system, comedic storyline, minigames, great artwork and unlockable director's commentary this is one classic point and click adventure you might want to give a play!
Go to Hell Dave - An Adventure title that gives a nod to Monkey Island, but from Hell!
A game that can almost be described as Monkey Island, but based in Hell, is a hilarious adventure title from Falchion Games. This is Go to Hell Dave, a classic point & click adventure with a great list of voiced acted characters, that are full of wit and charm. You'll also have tons of weird and wonderful areas to explore and what's more, with plenty of interaction and classic puzzle solving, it will keep that Monkey Island retro feel flowing. But not to be left out, Go to Hell Dave also has great animation, artwork and real retroish music!
City Quest - A classic point and click adventure game with a sharp wit (Kickstarter/Demo)
City Quest is a new Adventure title with very retro graphics, to the like of classic Sierra titles such as Police Quest. It also has the charm and death rate as if it were a game of Space Quest! In this Adventure title you can die in so many different ways, which has been lacking in most Adventure games thus far. Something simple such as walking in the road can get you run over, or doing the wrong action towards a puzzle could end up with your body parts torn apart, yet in this game, it will make you laugh every time. City Quest is being developed by StoneMonkeyStudios with an estimated release date of Sept 2013!
THE BUM - Classic Point and Click Adventure (Now Available)
The Bum is a new Adventure game that was developed by just one guy, who created this as his first game. But don't let that put you off, as it looks very well made! It's also very Nostalgic for us Point and Click Adventure fans. The story is of a homeless man who communicates with the world using an old sock on his right hand. This Man is a huge football fan and plays it a lot near his back alley. However One day he gets mugged by a wandering Bully and looses his precious ball in the process. As the story progresses he meets new people and will he ever get that ball back or confront the Bully? A charming Adventure game that has a lot of retro flavor and well worth your time!
The Perfidious Petrol Station: Nancy the Happy Whore - High quality 2D Adventure
A new 2D Adventure by Technocrat at FireFlower Games, titled The Perfidious Petrol Station: Nancy the Happy Whore has just been released with full voice overs. With the quality of the retro style graphics, it has certainly peaked our interest. But the title alone is sure to stand out, this almost has a Leisure Suit Larry vibe, but this time, you're a Happy Whore! Featuring a small length Adventure with around three hours game play and plenty of humour, you'll not want to miss this fun little gem.
The Last Door - point-and-click adventure horror game (Chapter 1)
The Last Door by developers, The Game Kitchen, is a rather unique point and click adventure game, with it's pixelated graphics and horror story line. It would really suit the old style Sierra games, just check out that character, full of pixelated detail! What I also like about this well made title, is it's playable in your browser, and as from May 2013, chapter 1 will be free and chapter 2 will be released. Being that this is chapter 1 with the following chapter coming in May, the story unfolds chapter by chapter, which the developers mention as in an interactive web series. I can see why this was a Kickstarter success, but what's the story about?
The 7th Guest: 3 - The Hit Horror Adventure Game Returns!
I couldn't believe the news today but it's very likely that a new sequel to The 7th Guest is going to appear on iOS, Android, PC and Mac. I remember playing 7th Guest just recently via my dos set up and it's a creepy game to behold. This sequel looks to bring the scary atmosphere and the damn hard puzzles of the original 7th Guest/11th Hour into this generation.
Asylum - Horror Kickstarter Success!
Great news for the developers of Asylum, a new scary as hell horror first person point-and-click adventure game by the same designers as Scratches (Senscape). As they have just had a successful kickstarter with $119,426 pledged of a $100,666 goal. It's so great to see another horror game from these guys is on the way, as Scratches was one hell of a well made horror adventure. Asylum is a psychological horror adventure inspired by H. P. Lovecraft set in a massive, decaying mental institute.
[Kickstarter] Mage's Initiation - Adventure/RPG title
The success of Kickstarter has allowed the rather forlorn and obscure PC adventure genre to have somewhat of a Renaissance of late. This may be due to the rather low production costs involved to create a title and perhaps a reason we're seeing a spurt of successful projects in the genre.
Hoping to become another such title is 'Mage's Initiation' by Himalaya Studios, with the legacy of titles such as Quest for Glory and the King's Quest series, its modest target of $65,000 has already passed the halfway mark in a mere 24 hours.
