Yes indeed, Ron Gilbert’s sequel to the ground breaking Maniac Mansion in which three unlikely friends work together to prevent an evil mutated purple tentacle from taking over the world. Wings! Remastered Edition - Gets an Amiga OS update and Demo!

Although this news came out yesterday ( blame the migraine for not doing it ), we are pleased to announce that the PC remastered edition in HD from the classic Amiga Wings! is now up for pre-order for Amiga OS and will be made available FEB 2016. According to one such user who commented that we will never see a such a port. Even if they released the source-code, that source-code will be near to useless to Amiga-users. This game is made using Unity3D. The developers noted if they reached 95.000k they will support a team that is willing to port Wings! Remastered Edition for Amiga. And one year after release they found someone. The Team of Goldencode works on the port for the Amiga, and supports MorphOS, AROS x86 and Amiga OS4 (Warp 3D / RadeonHD).

Laserball 2015 - Reflective Atari ST puzzle game for boxed pre-order

Retro Video Gamer ‏has just contacted us through our twitter feed of the recent announcement for Thomas Ilg's Atari ST homebrew game ' Laser Ball ', that is up for pre-order as a high quality boxed edition titled 'Laser Ball 2015'. Originally released in 2014 as an arcade puzzle game with great feedback such as "The Sign of every good Puzzle game", the developer is hoping for at least 15 pre-orders before the game is boxed, as small amounts are very expensive.

Grim Fandango Remastered - An acclaimed adventure classic on GOG!

What a great day today as GOG has just informed us that Grim Fandango Remastered has now appeared on GOG for pre-order priced at £9.29. Grim Fandango was first released way back in 1998 as a dark comedy noir adventure that became one of the most critically acclaimed adventure games of all time. It was also LucasArts first adventure to use 3D graphics on pre-rendered, static backgrounds, and the fact it had a great story and interesting puzzles!

Rex Rocket - Top Quality 2D platformer releases today on Steam

We've certainly had some impressive games today and when Castle Pixel informed us about their new 2D platformer for release on Steam, it was another game to add to our awesome list. Rex Rocket will certainly drop jaws in both the retro community and the Indie scene as it features more than just nostalgic 8-bit visuals, but awesome chip tune music and lots of fire power blasting action.

Reckpunk - A weird and wonderful platform runner from Damien(dlan)

If there's one thing that stands out for me other than curious gameplay is an unusual artstyle, and when it comes to Reckpunk by Damien(dlan), a strange artistic design is certainly one of them. With a release date of September 2014 for the PC, Reckpunk features 8-bit graphics with the game play of that of a platform runner. Throughout this game your reaction counts, you must avoid obstacles and move platforms with the use of your mouse and with this design it really works. Not only is Reckpunk a great looking 8-bit styled game, which would probably look good on a Spectrum it also features fun and challenging game play.

Defense Grid 2 - Steam Beta access and pre-order available

Hidden Path Entertainment have just let us know that the Steam pre-order of their new 3D tower defense game Defense Grid 2 has gone live on steam for release in September. They are doing a Kickstarter stretch goal style tiered reward where the more people who pre-order, the more fun things everyone gets bundled with the delivery.

Just recently we featured Slightly Magic, a nice little gem of a retro classic that was getting a make over due for release 7th July. Back in November of last year a new Kickstarter campaign was started for the revamp of the classic Sinclair title, Slightly Magic, however it wasn't meant to be. Originally this great classic was highly regarded in the local Sinclair magazines with ratings as high as 94%, yet for some reason the thought of a classic game featuring the original art work and game play and resolving some of the original platform limitations did not appeal to the gaming masses, and thus the Kickstarter failed by a rather large margin. Yet fast forward to today and some great news is on the horizon!

Gamers and retro gamers alike you are in for a serious treat today as Shadowgate, which is the new re-imaging of an incredible adventure classic originally from 1987, is now available for pre-order. The developers Zojoi have claimed that Shadowgate is the granddaddy of all "point and click" fantasy adventure games and NES favourite, and to be honest I completely agree with them!

Factorio from an Indie Team based in Prague, is a highly addictive Sci-fi industrial management game that's currently impressing the gaming community with it's unique art style and well thought out game play design. Factorio has you tasked with the mining of resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure and much more. It's a game you will pick up and play for hours on end and wonder what just happened to the time (sleep is put aside for this game). You'll be also using your brain skills to design the best in factory layout for optimal resources gathering, but watch out for the alien life forms, they may not like all that pollution your putting out!
