Yeti Mountain - An episodic Commodore 64 game has been released by Protovision

I'm rather surprised this game hasn't got more attention in the C64 scene, as not long ago thanks to a recent heads up, we were told that Protovision had recently published a rather awesome multi episode and genre Commodore 64 game called ' Yeti Mountain ' by Russell Mills. A game in which you must  investigate the suspicious disappearance of your best friend and renowned ski instructor Chris Piriah at the Yeti Lodge Resort. To coincide with this news, as always we've got some screenshots and a video for you of this latest release from Protovision.

Cursed Tomb - Enter an ancient grave of unknown origin in this C64 game by Protovision

This week we've been flooded with ZX Spectrum games, so to change all that, here's a new(?) release that is sure to be enjoyed by many, and it's Protovision's latest game of 'Cursed Tomb'; a game which as you guessed it isn't going to be a game of pretty flowers, unicorns and love hearts! To coincide with this news story not only do we have some screenshots from the game, but at some point later today Saberman is also going to upload a video showing the game in action.

Muddy Racers - A fabulous racer has appeared for the C64 by Protovision

Great news if you're looking for something fresh for your Commodore 64 other than all the Shoot 'em ups we keep featuring, as thanks to Saberman giving us the heads up via Facebook, we've been told that Protovision has released a brand new Arcade racing game called 'Muddy Racers'. A game in which playing as one of four racers each with their own personalities, must race around a track, bouncing into other opponents while hoping to win the top spot in the Leaderboard.

The Indie Retro News C64 Game Awards 2020 Winners Announced

Here we are again, and what an excellent year it was for C64 game development at least!  The quality of titles - both physical and digital keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see what 2021 brings us - but with the likes of Eye of the Beholder C64 imminent, A Pig's Quest, Wild Wood, and perhaps Doc Cosmos 2... We have a lot to look forward to this year as well.

While many of you are still eagerly awaiting Sarah Jane Avory's upcoming RPG of 'Briley Witch Chronicles' or madly clicking joysticks blasting away enemies in the most enjoyable of shoot em ups Zeta Wing or Neutron, you might be interested to know, that thanks to a heads up via Protovision, we have been told that you can now purchase and download the fabulous looking game of Soul Force; a 100% 6502 assembly developed game for fans of the Shoot em up genre!

Outrage - After 30 years a fabulous C64 'Hawkeye' style game is finally here!

We've just received some really great news, as we've just been informed through Facebook and Twitter that if you've been waiting and waiting (some 30 years in fact) for the release of the Hawkeye inspiration of Outrage to come to the C64, then as of today Protovision / Psytronik has finally published the digital version of the game for all to enjoy.... Pre-orders for the cartridge edition of Outrage are also available!

Ever since the beginning of Indie Retro News, we've always featured as many games as possible with time allowing, from both developers and publishers across the globe. It doesn't matter what system they are released on, from the Amstrad to the Amiga, and from the NES to the Sega Mega Drive, at some point they will be mentioned on this website much to the delight of the community. Thankfully one such Publisher always gets a mention as they did release some brilliant C64 games such as Wormhole, MW ULTRA and Neutron, so today we are pleased to announce we are officially supporting Protovision

Outrage - After 30 years a fabulous 'Hawkeye' style game is coming to the C64!

Awesome news C64 owners, as we've just been informed through Twitter that if you've been waiting and waiting (some 30 years in fact) for the release of the Hawkeye inspiration of Outrage to come to the C64, then we are pleased to announce that Protovision / Psytronik will be soon be publishing the game as it is nearly complete. If you haven't heard of this game before, that's because it was originally produced by Cosmos Designs for the Boeder Talent Competition in cooperation with the 64'er magazine a long time ago, but it wasn't until Protovision and Psytronik got involved that they put every effort into finishing the game, without all the bugs and glitches and no source code.

Wormhole - A gorgeous C64 game published via Protovision gets a release!

I'm rather surprised this game hasn't got more attention in the C64 scene, as not long ago thanks to Milo's heads up, we were told that Protovision had recently published a rather awesome looking run and gun C64 game called ' Wormhole '. In this game developed by TRS, you control a saviour who must rescue a professor and stop a wormhole experiment that has gone horribly wrong with an invasion of hostile aliens.

Space Moguls - C64 game inspired by M.U.L.E is now available!

Protovision is kicking it up a notch this week as they have just announced the superb looking M.U.L.E inspired game called ' Space Moguls ', is now available to buy for the C64 as either a disk, cartridge or disk and cartridge based version, each in a beautiful box of goodies! This game coded by C-H Skårstedt‏ with music by Stein Pedersen and Ole-Marius Pettersen, is a top down grid based strategy game that has to 4 player support, graphical landscapes such as woodland areas and lakes, granting land, town with services, and droids that are available to give you that helping hand.

It's a hot one outside but boy do we have a great piece of news for you, as after previously announcing with new screenshots of C-H Skårstedt and Stein Pedersen's M.U.L.E inspired game of ' Space Moguls ' for the C64. We are here to tell you that the twitter page of the game has announced not just a new development video, but also the game was live streamed through Twitch! Both of these videos give us a good glimpse of the game and what to expect when it arrives at some point soon.

El Loco Challenge - Lotus inspired WIP C64 Racer gets a game menu theme update!

It wasn't long ago in one of HayesMaker big C64 weekly write ups that he mentioned a very cool looking new Lotus style racer called 'El Loco Challenge' in which is currently in development and the developer JammerC64 is hoping to release as much as possible in time for the Forum64/Protovision game competition. Well fast forward to this lovely sunny day and there's been a new update which shows the game menu as being finished!

Knights of Bytes, the creators behind the incredible looking C64 platformer 'Sam's Journey', which many thought was an April fools when it was announced by us first in 2015 (We did try to prove it!), has once again appeared in our news feeds but this time as an announcement that is sure to blow you all away.
