Flaschbier - A final version of a C64 game that was originally leaked before release in 1985

Once again another retro heads up from Saberman, as we've just been told that a final version of the Boulder Dash clone of Flaschbier, has been made available for the Commodore 64.A re-release of the 1985 game by Werner Soft which at the time was only considered as a leaked beta. The difference between that version and this one, is it contains selectable levels from 1 to 45, a new level editor, and several little changes in the code. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also done a video of the game which can be viewed below.

Mabool - A new puzzler for the Thomson MO5 & TO7-70 by Baptiste Bideaux

The retro gaming news just keeps on giving, as if you're looking for a new game for the Thomson MO5 and TO7-70; a system we have never featured before on Indie Retro News. Then it might be worth your time checking out Mabool. A brand new Puzzle game by  in which you must escape a dark castle by collecting stars and keys that will open the door for you to escape. To coincide with this news, we have some new screenshots for you to view and the download link available below.

Jungle Joe - A challenging yet enjoyable C64 puzzle platformer from Vector5games

If you're looking for another enjoyable C64 game to get you through the week and into the weekend, then we have just been informed by Saberman, that you can now download the C64 game of 'Jungle Joe' by Vector5games. A game that doesn't just put you in the boots of an explorer traversing dangerous landscapes to find the exit. But from the look of the game it smacks of high quality with lovely in game detail, dangerous enemies, nasty traps, and lots of challenges with a limited amount of ladders and bridges at your disposal.

BrainBreak - A new preview of a colourful Puzzle game for the C64

The retro gaming news just keeps on coming, as if the announcement of Blinky's Scary School, Showdown and Chuckie Egg 4 wasn't enough to whet your appetite, then you might be interested to learn that as of today, you can now download the latest game preview of BrainBreak by dkrajzew; A C64 tile/puzzle game with several surprising features that is sure to keep you hooked for more than just a few hours! To coincide with this news, we have two game videos to show you from both VIPER's Retrogame and Saberman.

Tenebra Extended - An atmospheric puzzle game for the C64 by Haplo gets an extended edition

An early morning news story for today and one I think many people will be loading up throughout this week, as we've recently been trawling the C64 scene database, and have found out that the atmospheric game of Tenebra by Haplo, has been re-released as an extended edition for the Commodore 64. To coincide with this news not only has Saberman done a video of the standard Demo which was made available the other day, but the game is available for purchase through itch.io.

Randoom - A challenging yet enjoyable C64 game gets an MSX2 remake!

The retro gaming news just keeps on coming, as if the announcement of Blackest Crypt, RodMän Jr+ and Knights & Slimes wasn't enough to whet your appetite, then you might be interested to learn as of today, you can now download the latest MSX2 release of Randoom by RoboSoft Inc; an MSX2 remake of the original game created for the C64 in which we said was a very challenging yet highly enjoyable game by Picaro Games!

RANDOMAZER - A super cool maze based puzzle game for the Atari ST/STe and Falcon by anarcholab

Another heads up and surprisingly it's another Atari news story, as thanks to both Saberman and Thomas Ilg who were kind enough to contact us this week, they have told us that anarcholab has released the updated version of their highly enjoyable yet challenging game of RANDOMAZER; A super cool maze based puzzle game for the Atari ST/STe and Falcon, in which you need to guide your marbles to the target. Avoid the obstacles and collect the goodies

Hexed - This upcoming isometric C64 game by SyntaxErrorSoft looks fab!

Another retro gaming news story has appeared in our inbox and one I think you'll be playing more than just a couple of hours when it gets an eventual release for the C64, is the upcoming game of 'Hexed' by SyntaxErrorSoft; An isometric Arcade Puzzler that pits your bouncing hero against the evil Stalker and the Eye of Yi Yi, as you must clear every game screen of a set amount of colours throughout many different and challenging levels.

The Machinations - An automation puzzle game for the Commodore 64 is now available

Another puzzler has graced our C64 screens today, as thanks to Tom letting us know through Facebook, he has told us that if you head on over to the itch.io website linked below, you can download the latest release of 'The Machinations' by Haplo and Marukpa; An automation puzzle game for the Commodore 64 which is based around The Sequence by One Man Band with music by Barry Leitch. To coincide with this news, a new tutorial video can also be viewed below which should explain the game in more depth.

Pieces II – The Community Release - Protovision presents the Pieces II Level Design Compo!

We don't often feature competitions as we usually focus on game jams whereby a person at home needs to create a specific game hoping to win that top spot and their game featured at some point on Indie Retro News. Well here we are with something different, as thanks to Milo Mundt contacting us just recently, he has told us that Protovision is not only running a competition with no coding skills or anything required, but all you need to do is download the Pieces II Level Editor and create a new game level for the upcoming game of 'Pieces II'. (The best entries shall be included in the final Pieces II release and Every qualified participant receives a 5€ voucher for the Protovision Shop)

Drag & Drop - A new Block Puzzle game released for the Amiga by Electric Black Sheep

I'm terrible at Puzzle games! Not only that, but trying to write an article regarding anything Puzzle related just isn't my strong point. Still if you like puzzle games and have an Amiga, you might like this latest news story, as Electric Black Sheep has recently released a new Amiga game called Drag & Drop; a game that not only features an easy and survivor mode, but also time attack, extreme, baby, unpredictable, inverse and virus.

Push IT - A challenging yet enjoyable arcade puzzler released for the Amstrad CPC

If you have an Amstrad CPC and looking for something enjoyable to play through the festive period, then thanks to a heads up via XeNoMoRPH, we've been told that Yoann PERRIER has released a new game for the Amstrad called 'Push IT'; a high quality yet challenging puzzler in which you need to move large blocks around to reach the exit. To coincide with this news, XeNoMoRPH has done a new video of the game which can be viewed below.

Randoom - A challenging yet enjoyable C64 game released by Picaro Games

The C64 news just keeps on coming, as if Sonic The Hedgehog coming to the C64 wasn't enough to whet your appetite, then you might be interested to learn as thanks to another heads up from Saberman through Facebook, you can now download the latest C64 game of Randoom by Picaro Games; a brand Arcade puzzle game in which you need to clear all the cubes throughout 31 fun packed levels to win the game! 

Choctris - A Tetris clone for the Commodore Amiga gets a new version!

It's time to move away from the Platform genre and look towards classic Puzzle games for our retro fun, as if you loved the 1984 game of Tetris , you'll be pleased to know that as of today you can download the very latest Tetris clone of 'Choctris'. Yes indeed thanks to Saberman letting us know, he has told us if you head on over to the ppa.pl forums, Phibrizzo with Leon has released a new version of their Tetris clone which was originally teased as a beta version at the RetroKomp 2018 competition.

Get The Diamonds - A charming VIC20 puzzle game released by Derek via Reset64!

If you don't have a C64, but you do have a Vic20 with a 3K RAM expansion however, then you might like this news update, as thanks to @ResetC64 who sent us a heads up via twitter, we've been told that if you like puzzle games, then make sure to play Derek's latest game of 'Get The Diamonds'; a new 1 player game for your 3kb expanded VIC20, featuring colourful graphics, in game sound and 8 fiendish levels that has been published via Reset64 Magazine.

Tetris 2K21 - A new version of Tetris stemming from the 1990 Vortex team build arrives on the C16 & Plus/4

Oh joy of joys, if you loved the 1984 game of Tetris or the 1989 game of Columns , you'll be pleased to know a brand new puzzle overhaul of Tetris by Csabo and KiCHY has been released for the C16 and Plus/4 as Tetris 2k21. This excellent game that was originally released by Vortex Team back in 1990 is not only an improved version of the original with NES Tetris rules, but it features a brand new game code, new graphics (thanks to KiCHY), full SID support, and most everything else has been replaced!

Vegetables Deluxe - A fabulous Match 3 game by Mike Richmond gets a VIC 20 port by Arlasoft

Some more great retro gaming news for you all, as we've just been given the heads up through our Facebook group, that Mike Richmond's Vegetables Deluxe; game that was released for the Amiga, C64 and ZX Spectrum, has now been released as a port for the VIC 20 by Arlasoft. Yes indeed if you've heard of this game before, that's because it was originally developed by Mike Richmond for the RGCD 16k Competition 2019, and later released through Double Sided Games for the C64 as an overhauled deluxe.

Josh - A challenging puzzler for the Amstrad CPC by Philippe MOULIN

If you're looking for a new Amstrad game you've come to the right place, as trawling through the cpcwiki forums and thanks to XeNoMoRPH who also sent us a heads up, we've recently been told that as of this week you can download Philippe MOULIN's latest Amstrad CPC game of Josh. A rather interesting Amstrad Puzzler in which you need to not only collect the fruit, but also to clear the game screen of a specific colour of diamonds.
