Formula 1 Grand Prix - Amiga racer free to play on PC & Mac!

Gamesnostalgia has been very busy lately bundling old retro games up in a neat little playable PC and MAC package, but one of those games of interest was the 1992 Amiga racing simulator ' Formula 1 Grand Prix ' by Microprose. Although I was never a racing fan, spending most of my time crashing into everything and doing replays, this was an overall decent game noted for its 3D graphics, attention to detail and the ability to edit teams and drivers. Now thanks to Gamesnostalgia this game is once again playable on more modern systems, pre-configured using FS-UAE.

Super Monaco GP +6DG - Hokuto Force is aiming for pole position in this C64 release

In the early 90's Sega with publishing rights by US Gold, released the Arcade racing game of ' Super Monaco GP ' on a multitude of systems including the C64. It had a brilliant soundtrack by Jeroen Tel and required you the racer, to both qualify and then win the Grand Prix of Monaco! That same game has once again appeared today, but this time by Hokuto Force as ' Super Monaco GP +6DG ', which was done for a request from an HF fan and features 6 trainers and the speccy original pic + dox in a separate file

Super Mario Kart goes mental with 101 players!

In the early 90s' Nintendo released one of the greatest go-kart racing games ever for the SNES, and that game was Super Mario Kart, which has sold well over 9 million copies in its life time. But even if the game was an awesome multiplayer experience battling your way through to first place, you have probably never seen it with 101 players. Well that's exactly what Hat-Loving Gamer has done with this great classic as the game is full to the brim with gaming characters spanning many years.

OutDrive - Trippy 80's racer aims for a Steam Greenlight success

From the year 2015 and now 2016, it seems as if the 80's-90's racers are back in full force, as we've had a number of games now that take us back to the days of Lotus and Outrun all at top speed while also adding psychedelic colours with a totally radical wave soundtrack! Yet now it's time for another game to race to the top spot, with the latest Steam Greenlight addition of ' OutDrive'!

Slipstream - Retro inspired racer gets an updated Demo

We recently mentioned the Steam Greenlight success of ' Slipstream ' developed by Noctet Studio,  an arcade racing game inspired by the visuals, music, games and cars from the 80's and 90's with 4 game modes, 30 different tracks, 4 playable cars and 8 original cars. Well that same game, which is still needs to gain a good amount of Kickstarter pledges to be a success, has recently been updated with a new demo to whet your appetite.

Slipstream - Retro inspired racer aims for a Kickstarter success

If you loved those 80's and 90's arcade racers such as OutRun, Daytona USA, Super Hang-On, or the fantastic Amiga game Lotus Turbo Challenge, then heads up because I think we have the Kickstarter for you! This is ' Slipstream ' developed by Noctet Studio,  an arcade racing game inspired by the visuals, music, games and cars from some of the greatest racers we've come to know growing up, all built in a custom game engine!

Intergalactic Race Warriors - Possibly the coolest racer to get a Greenlight campaign!

Prepare for the wackiest racer yet, that really does look like Wacky Racers on Speed! This is ' Intergalactic Race Warriors ' by Turtleblaze, that really should be getting your Steam Greenlight votes. Taking place on a wide range of planets, as a side scrolling combat racing game set in outer space, you'll be racing in all corners of the universe in a carnage tournament to reach the finish line!

Micro Machines & Marble Madness - A double Amiga CD32 special!

This week has just got a whole lot better as Kloks has teamed up with Earok to release not one but two fantastic games for your Amiga CD32. Each one so well known, that they are a huge hit with the gamers even today. It's none other than Micro Machines which was originally released in the 90's and Marble Madness from the 80's, both having multiple system ports such as the original Amiga, Sega Game Gear, Sega Mega Drive and NES.

Micro Sprint - Classic Super Sprint inspired racer is now available!

In 1986 Atari Games released the top down Formula One racer of ' Super Sprint ' for the Arcades. In my opinion it was a very enjoyable game viewed from above, as you could race around a uniquely designed track with tiny cars to reach the finish line. I especially liked the steering wheel control and for the fact it was ported over to other systems such as the Amstrad and ZX Spectrum. If you also remember playing the game, you'll be pleased to know that Steve has released ' Micro Sprint '; which is a one switch, top-down, multiplayer, single screen racer. It looks like Super Sprint and plays like Scalextric, without the hassle of putting your car back on the track every 2 minutes!

Jaguar XJ220 - Racing excellence comes to the Amiga CD32

You may have noticed it's been a bit quiet lately on the site and that's because the retro gaming scene has been pretty uninteresting these last few days, but that is about to change today with the Earok Amiga CD32 release of 'Jaguar XJ220'. Originally released for the Amiga in 1992 and then the MegaCD in 1993, Jaguar XJ220 was a fantastic arcade racing game with a great soundtrack, intuitive gameplay and the inclusion of a track editor. Thus it was no wonder reviews gave it 95% and above!

Pole Position 3HD - Laxity races ahead with another C64 cheatable release

In 1986 (Tronic-Verlag) released Pole Position for the C64; a racing game where fast driving reactions count! Although this game had the same name as the arcade release by Atari in 1984 it did not feature a first person viewpoint but a top down scrolling one with cars constantly appearing that if you crash into, will spin your car out of control. A decent enough game, that certainly gives an impression of speed, has been re-released today but this time by Laxity with a handy number of cheats.

Carrera F1 +5H - Scalextric racer for the C64

Are you ready for the toughest race of your life, one that usually ends up with you constantly spinning out of control and the CPU racing ahead of you without fault? Then here it is, 'Carrera F1'! Taking us back to the Scalextric days with cars on rails, competing against your opponent at break neck speeds. Carrera F1 is the latest C64 release by Technische Maschinenfabrik and crack trainered by Genesis Project.

Radial-G - Oculus Rift Racer Gets Steam Early Access

Back in July, we featured the spectacular upcoming Oculus Rift title called Radial-G: Racing Revolved as they set up their kickstarter campaign and despite a fantastic effort, it didn't quite reach its £50k goal. Undeterred by this setback, the team at Tameka games were able to receive additional funding and have continued with development and have just announced that the Game will soon be available on Steam.

Red Hot Overdrive - Impressive free racer with a hint of nostalgia

I'm not usually one for writing articles at midnight, but when I checked out Red Hot Overdrive by AprilSkies I knew my readers would be in for a treat. For those of you who remember games such as Outrun or Lotus on the Amiga, this is one of those games. A third person racing experience that takes us back to the gaming 90's with cool weather effects, great music and the thrill of the speed.

Microprose Formula One Grand Prix - Earok's next encore Amiga CD32 release

Rev your engines, wait for the green light and GO! As Earok has released the next Encore Amiga CD32 port of Microprose Formula One Grand Prix and the 2014 season update. Grand Prix was originally released in 1991 and featured some of the best simulated racing experiences ever to appear on the Amiga. It really felt like you were driving in the Grand Prix, as it had proper speed immersion and great crashes (of which I experienced a lot).

Earok-160 - 160 amazing games ported to the Amiga CD32!!

Here it is finally, the best and biggest release ever to appear on the Amiga CD32! A huge 160 Amiga game collection ported by Earok, that contains every genre that can possibly fit on one CD. Blockbusters hits by Delphine, Psynosis, Team 17, Cinemaware, LucasArts and others, from Adventure games, to platformers, shoot em ups and racing. Games spanning almost the entire life span of the Amiga, including some of the more recent demo scene games and unofficial Atari ST ports. You'll probably never see anything like this again on an Amiga CD32!

Leading Lap MPV - AGA racer gets an Amiga CD32 conversion

Good afternoon gamers, I hope everyone had a good weekend! Thus with a new week it's a new Earok Amiga CD32 port and none other than Leading Lap MPV; a '95 AGA racing game for the Amiga. Although the game is fun to play as you race around the track at break neck speeds, it's no way as good as the brilliant Formula One, Still though atleast it's free and will probably be the last of the racing AGA conversions, so enjoy it and look forward to another release tomorrow.

Rally Championships - Arcade racing for Amiga CD32

Put aside the platformers and puzzle games as it's time for the next Amiga CD32 Earok release in the form of an arcade racing game called Rally Championships. Developed by InSide Team and released in 1994, you'll be racing around different tracks of both green and snow while aiming for the best possible time. Rally Championship features great graphics in an isometric view and fun gameplay, what did let the original down was lots of disk swapping especially the AGA version and hard difficulty.

Radial-G - Zero G racer for Oculus Rift from an AAA experienced team and interview!

It seems like everywhere you turn there's a new game touting support for Oculus Rift, the Kickstarter darling of the Virtual Reality renaissance. (I still can't believe it's taken over 20 years for the technology to catch up with the dream promised by the arcade Virtuality cabinets powered by Amiga 3000's to finally be able to deliver the realistic immersive experience we all dreamed about in the '90s). But 5 AAA industry guys have put together a fantastic looking zero-g racer designed with the Rift in mind (though it's also good without one on a regular flatscreen) and are looking to get the final push to completion funded through kickstarter.
