OpenIG : Imperium Galactica Open Source Remake has implemented random galaxy generator in latest release!

Another open source game that has also had a nice update and that is OpenIG, which is an open source remake of Imperium Galactica. A hit strategy game where you colonize the stars and involve yourself in a rather cool fmv based story. The developer of OpenIG, David Karnok has just announced the release of 0.95.173 which contains a feature not in the original game and that is a random galaxy generator. Although in the original main game had up to 340 planets, by modding it can have even more. As this is free and open source, you do not need the original game to play. Just download and run (Java needed)

The Goonies Remake - A look back at a remade movie game classic

Here's another great classic that wasn't just a movie, it had a game too! And that game, just like the movie was called The Goonies. Originally the game came out for the C64, Atari 8bit and Apple II in 1985 from Datasoft, but was later ported to the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC by US Gold. This game follows very closely to the movie in the fact that many of the screens were largely inspired by actual sets and puzzles seen in the film. Play through the levels while using two members of the Goonies to solve puzzles, and finally reach the exit. This remake overhauls the graphics in a pretty big way, but it really works and it looks so good while remaining true to the original game. Developed by the Sloth Team in 2010, this is a great remake.

Baby Jo In ''Going Home'' - Cute Amiga Platformer for your PC

Say hello to Baby Jo, he needs your help as he's out in the wild, all alone and surrounded by dangerous beasties! It's down to you to get him home, but with the amount of traps and dangerous creatures in the way it almost seems unlikely. Never fear though, as you can jump and dodge your way through the levels, with rattles to throw and super nappies to increase your speed and even give you invulnerability. Collect fruit along the way but eat too much and your nappy fills up, almost make sure to drink enough milk. A game that looks cute but has suffered negative criticism from the Amiga crowd, especially LemonAmiga with one such user commenting " Average graphics, slow and jerky game play, stupid level design ". But as with every game, opinion differs, what did you think of it?
