Today's news is yet another good 'un for fans of this great Dungeon Crawling/CRPG. As thanks to Pyrdacor letting us know once more through our Twitter page. He has said that if you head on over to the github website, you can try out the latest Amiga 1.12 English and 1.11 German update of the classic game of Ambermoon; an open source update of the original which gives it a new lick of paint with even further improvements and bug fixes!
Tales of Gorluth III - The Third and Final Chapter is now available for the Amiga CD32/CDROM and IndieGO!
AMIworx are back in the news this week as they have recently informed the Amiga community that their previously playable (as a demo) of the Action RPG game 'Tales of Gorluth III", is now available for ordering for the Amiga CD32 and indieGO! Retro Console. For those of you who haven't heard of this before, 'Tales of Gorluth III' is the third and final chapter in the series which was developed by AMIworx featuring high quality graphics and RPG charm should not be missed.
Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness - One of the best Adventure/RPG's gets a must download enhancement!
I've always been an Adventure gamer on both my Amiga and PC, and have such fond memories of games such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, Fable, Kings Quest and even the Quest for Glory series. In fact one such game I remember and always recommend as one of the top 10 Adventure games to play is the early 90's game Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness! So why am I mentioning this fabulous game on IRN? Well here's some great news for you all, as AshLancer has released the long-awaited Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness Enhanced Edition!
Kooky's Quest 2021 - A roguelike game released for the Atari XL/XE
Another retro gaming article to keep you company and yes there's certainly going to be a lot to get through this week, is a brand new game for the Atari XL/XE called 'Kooky's Quest 2021'. This game developed by Eric Anschuetz, Robert Anschuetz, and John Weisgerber as possibly a spin off to another game we featured called Kooky Climber. Is a new rogue-like in which you need to go on a quest through dangerous dungeons to collect powerful loot!
Ambermoon Advanced - The new unofficial add-on to a great Amiga RPG gets a tease!
We've featured Ambermoon many times now on Indie Retro News from the updated Amiga version, to the open source remake which can be downloaded to your home PC. Both versions give you hours worth of enjoyment of an incredible 90's RPG that not only featured 3D graphics that were considered revolutionary for the Amiga, but it also had high-quality graphics, a large number of enemies and cities and more. Well today's news is yet again pretty special for those of you who loved this classic game, as Pyrdacor has teased some new images for the upcoming Ambermoon Advanced mod that is in development for the Amiga and PC.
Blade - A dungeon crawler for Amiga & Amiga emulators by Mark Sheeky
Another Amiga heads up for you all, and another RPG, as we've recently been informed via Saberman on Facebook, that if you head on over to the itch.io website, you can download Mark Sheeky's Dungeon Crawler of 'Blade' ; a rather rare game originally released in 1996 as the creators 20th, last, and most ambitious game for Amiga; an expanded, isometric sequel to his roguelike game Hilt. In was an incredible RPG for its time, and featured 3D graphics that were considered revolutionary for the Amiga, but sadly for the company it couldn't save them from collapse.

Light From Within - A Zelda-esque adventure for your Nintendo Entertainment System
I thought to myself today it's been some time since we had any Zelda style games on Indie Retro News, but thankfully I've come across a game that doesn't just have a Zelda vibe, but it almost looks like a quality commercial release from the golden era of the NES. Welcome to Light From Within; an in development game by Atarath that they claim is a new Zelda-esque adventure that will bring you right back the the 80s.

For as long as the game was first announced we've been keeping you up to date in regards to Andreas Larsson and team's work in progress Eye of the Beholder port that is coming to the C64, which looks as if it was released all those years ago along side the Amiga. Lawless Legends - Eagerly awaited Apple II RPG crawler will be released this summer
We've just been given some great news through Facebook, as the eagerly awaited Apple II game of ' Lawless Legends ' will be released this Summer! This is a game that has been in development for sometime and takes the medieval dungeon crawler and mashes it up with the wild wild west. For those of you want to try the game out, there's a 3 disk demo available which requires a real Apple II, IIc, IIe, or IIgs: MUST HAVE 128K
Desolate - A unusual game from a TI-83 Plus calculator ported to ZX Spectrum.
Another Saberman heads up for you all, as he has recently informed us that if you remember using a TI 83/84 calculator, you may be interested to know that 'Desolate'; a game from that specific calculator. Has been ported over to the ZX Spectrum thanks to Nikita Zimin. For those of you who don't remember the original game, it was created back in 2004 by Patrick Prendergast as a rather large RPG, that featured many different rooms, and inventory based usage.

Black Dawn Rebirth - Deluxe Edition and Rogue announcement for the Amiga
It felt like it was only just yesterday that we announced with much excitement, the release of the eagerly awaited Dungeon Crawler through Double Sided Games called 'Black Dawn Rebirth'; a high grade crawler as the 7th episode of the Black Dawn Dungeon Crawler/RPG series by Shaun Watters, Andy Campbell, Ten Shu and Mike Richmond. Well fast forward to today and do we have some great news to share, as not only has the Deluxe Edition been announced, but also a new expansion called Black Dawn Rogue.
Meonlawel - A beautiful C64/128 RPG is in development
The C64 news just keeps on coming, as if you thought The C64 Xmas Bundle and the Mini Multiplayer announcement wasn't enough to whet your appetite, then you'll be pleased to learn that there's a high quality RPG in development for the C64 called Meonlawel; a game set in the land of Meonlawel, dominated by vampyres, both animal and human, with a story of revenge and the rumours of an antitode and a great silver sword.
Mini Multiplayer RPG has been announced for the C64
Another C64 announcement of which RPG genre fans might enjoy reading about, is the fact that Darren Foulds has teased with a new screenshot and video, of his early in development game which he classes as a Mini Multiplayer RPG. Although the game doesn't have a name and development was on and off throughout 2019 and into 2020, Darren has said this MMMORPG is being written in 6510 Assembly for the Commodore 64 using Turbo Macro Pro (on the C64) for that real retro feeling.

ScummVM v2.2.0 - The best way to play Adventure classics reaches new heights!
If you have a great collection of DOS or Windows based classic point and click adventure games, then the latest update of ScummVM 2.2.0 will do you nicely. I for one have it installed and use it for all my classic adventure games. But what is ScummVM, I hear you ask? ScummVM is a very special program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games in the compatibility list with extra added nifty features, provided you already have the main files.
