Slug vs Lettuce - A fun for all the family Arcade game via Scene World Magazine

Once again another retro heads up from Saberman, as we've just been told that a new game has been released for the Commodore 64 called 'Slug vs Lettuce' by Scene World Magazine. A game in which playing as a Slug, you must traverse through a one level cave system eating as much lettuce as possible for a high score. To coincide with this retro gaming news, Saberman has also done a video showing the gameplay and the music by Richard Bayliss.

Cruiser-X 79 - An upcoming C64 shoot 'em up via The New Dimension gets a 1 level demo!

Another upcoming game to add to a long list of C64 designed shoot 'em ups, as we've recently been told by a good friend of ours via Facebook, that The New Dimension has released a 1 level playable demo of an upcoming game called ' Cruisder-X 79 '. This game developed by Richard Bayliss and Saul Cross, pits your fighter against an alien force, as you must escape from an Alien Base on a mission to reach an earth like planet called ' Earth-X '.

Star Hawx - An Arcade C64 tribute to classic Shooter's such as Galaxian is coming 15th October

Galaxian has appeared on Indie Retro News a few times over the years, especially as it is one particular Arcade classic that homebrew developers love making clones of with special effects and bonus power ups added. Well this time we are going back to the original hit from 1979/80, as Richard Bayliss will be releasing as of 15th October 2021 'Star Hawx'; a fun little arcade shoot 'em up for 1 player only. This game is based on the 1980's classic arcade game, Galaxians – but with a difference.

As we've just found out by trawling the CSDb database, that Richard of TND and Saul Cross, have released a brand new 2020 version of the C64 game called ' Granny's Teeth '; a game that is available to download for free, which puts you in control of a rather speedy Granny as she must traverse dangerous levels to reach her teeth in a jar.

Keiko's Adventure - Family friendly fun for the C64 by TheReaperUK & Richard Bayliss

Most of the games we feature are generally focused more towards Teenagers and more specifically Adults, with a high level of difficulty and intense gameplay (Although I did have an Amstrad at 7 years old!). Today's game however is focused more towards families, as we've just been told TheReaperUK and Richard Bayliss, have released their family friendly fun game of 'Keikos Adventure'; a game which has been released for TheC64Maxi/C64Mini/Commodore 64 or a Good C64 Emulator.

Forgotten Forest V1.1 - SEUCK Forbidden Forest clone gets an update

If you're looking for more Halloween goodness, then thanks to Saberman giving us a shout out on Facebook, he has told us the SEUCK game known as 'Forgotten Forest', has been updated to V1.1 with NTSC music control and also a quick hi-score detection. According to the team behind the game such as Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss, Forgotten Forest is a side scrolling action game as a C64 clone of the classic Forbidden Forest!

Another game to add to a long list of C64 designed shoot em ups, as we've recently been told by Saberman that The New Dimension has released a brand new shoot em up called ' Rocket 'N Roll ' for the C64! This game developed by Richard Bayliss, pits your rocket against an unknown force, as you must guide your rocket through 4 different zones to try to find your destination for exploration ie The sun.

Let's Invade 2 - A psychedelic Space Invaders on the C64 by Richard Bayliss

Some years back we mentioned Richard Bayliss's Space Invaders game with a twist ' Let's Invade! '; a C64 game which takes the original Arcade 1978 Shooter Space Invaders by Tomohiro Nishikado and adds psychedelic moving backgrounds with upbeat trance music. Well fast forward to this month and we've been informed by Saberman, that The New Dimension with coding and music by Richard Bayliss has released the sequel for the R.G.C.D 16KB compo called ' Let's Invade 2'.

Super Galax-I-Birds isn't the only game worth talking about this week, as The New Dimension has released a rather lovely C64 Shoot 'em up called ' Starfysh Remix', which was programmed and music by Richard Bayliss and graphics by Shaun Pearson. Now if you love the classic game Delta, then this game is the game for you as not only does it look like a clone of that game, but it has varied enemies, different enemy wave patterns, multiple levels and the need to blast everything in your path for a decent score!

Super Toboggan Challenge - A Richard Bayliss C64 game using a new Assemble IT Update

We now look towards the C64 for our retro kicks, as this week Richard Bayliss through The New Dimension has released the fast scrolling sports game ' Super Toboggan Challenge ' for the C64! This game developed using the new Assemble IT Update, was developed as a fun example game to show off the smooth upwards and downwards scrolling that can be created using the new IT update.

Tank Blasta - SEUCK C64 game featuring music by Richard Bayliss

When someone says to me Richard Bayliss I always think of banging tunes with just about every C64 game he's involved in. Sure enough that's also true of the latest game that was released over the weekend, and that was ' Tank Blasta '; a SEUCK C64 game coded by SENSISOFT in which you play as a tank and must blast away everything in your path!

Spider Maze - Collect Diamonds and avoid Spiders in this new C64 game

Saberman is on the ball again for the retro gaming video community, as just recently he's uploaded a new video of a C64 game called ' Spider Maze ' which was coded by Richard Bayliss via The New Dimension for the Scene World Magazine. This game developed using assembler is a brand new arcade maze experience, as playing as a yellow faced character you must collect all the diamonds to move onto the next ever harder level!

PRECINCT 20 Dead Strange - A not so secret C64 project is revealed!

It was only just yesterday we announced a new project was in development by Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss which looked to be a mash of Death Wish with a dab of horror thrown in for good measure. That game which was just a secret C64 project at first, has now been revealed as 'PRECINCT 20: Dead Strange' , and is based on a series of short stories under the same title with you in control of a police detective hunting for clues in a series of murders with possibly supernatural causes.

A C64 horror game is coming by Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss!

Many of you may have heard the names Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss, as they were behind games such as Hover Raider RX, Flying Cobra RX, Snatch McBlagger and even Dark Force : Redux on the C64. But now as a tweet heads up, they have announced they are working on a top-secret horror game project that is once again coming to the C64, and looks to feature some pretty nasty enemies!
