It's only Monday but we begin the week with a fantastic start as one of the most anticipated C64 games of the summer, titled as 'The Sky is Falling', has finally been released through Psytronik Software. A debut C64 release from Stuart Collier, is based on an original game by Ovine by Design, assisted with graphics by Trevor Storey and funky soundtracks from Richard Bayliss. It may have been teased some time ago, but boy has this game come along way as it is looks seriously awesome!

Spyders C64 - Chapter 1 - A new Space Invaders for the C64 with SPIDERS!

Space Invaders was first released way back in 1978 in the Arcades and was developed by Tomohiro Nishikado and published by Taito in Japan, with a further release made available in the United States and a much later version in the 1980's on the Atari 2600. A game that has had so many clones and inspired games over years has had another appearance and this time as a game by Mr.Nop, Richard Bayliss and Martin Piper as ' Spyders ' on the C64!

Mix Box - A C64 Trilogy of Musical Mix Boxes from The New Dimension

Some of you are probably wondering why we've left out the C64 lately, well for one thing there hasn't been that many awesome releases this week, but also we were waiting for something special to come along. So sure enough, here's a rather decent tune set up that was released today from The New Dimension for the C64 with lots of cool tracks, 'Mix Box'.

Dark Destroyer 2117 - Top scrolling C64 shoot em up features music by Richard Bayliss

We are moving away from Amstrad and C64 ports, as now it's time to look towards a new game on the C64, as S.E.U.C.K. Trainers United has announced the release of the SEUCK game ' Dark Destroyer 2117 ', which was coded by Sensible Software and has been designed including the graphics, as well as enhancements, music, and sfx by Richard Bayliss. In this game you play as the controller of a number of Drones, that have been sent to defend the Earth from a mighty Alien hostile planet known as the Destroyer which is hurtling towards Earth!

Cruiser X-79 - A new C64 shoot em up in development by TND64

Even more C64 news to keep you company as The New Dimension have announced a new shoot em up titled as ' Cruiser X-79 ', that is currently in development with music by our personal favourite SID guru Richard Bayliss. Announced via a gameplay teaser, this latest game is currently being migrated and is being written in C64PRGStudio V3.0.1. Also as the video shows it features new music, in game sound effects, temporary graphics and 4 test alien formations.

NERO - Errazking's SEUCK C64 game features music by Richard Bayliss

As promised we are moving away from Greenlight, and yes even Indie games as now it's time to look towards the C64, as Errazking has announced the release of their SEUCK game ' NERO ', which was coded by Chris Yates, music by Richard Bayliss, graphics by Errazking and loader by Martin Piper. In this game you play as Nero working for a space agency, armed only with your trusty Magnum XII pulse laser you must go on a mission to fight a bunch of nasty pirates and their mechanoids that have taken control of a distant red planet.

Super ACE 1942 - TND's SEUCK C64 game inspired by a classic!

In 1984 a great shoot em up was released for the Arcade by Capcom and that game was 1942. A game in which you shoot down enemy planes, avoided being shot out of the sky and performed awesome rolls while collecting power ups. One of the more unusual power ups was being escorted by two other planes in formation that gave you the edge. It was an awesome game and still is today, but thanks The New Dimension we have a brand new SEUCK game on the C64 that is inspired by 1942 and is called ' Super ACE 1942 '.

Latest 2016 SEUCK Compo Entry - Border Blast 3 Review

2016 wasn't all bad news and Brexit... Commodore 64 saw some of its finest releases with the likes of Barnsley Badger, Tiger Claw, and The Bear Essentials giving all of us plenty of reasons to fire up our hardware and emulators. And even those without coding experience are able to get involved, as The New Dimension have even been running another Shootemup Construction Kit (SEUCK) competition.

Let's Invade! - A psychedelic Space Invaders on the C64 by Richard Bayliss

Not long ago we teased Richard Bayliss's new Space Invaders game with a twist ' Let's Invade! ', as a preview for the C64. Well today a full version of the game has appeared and has been released by The New Dimension as both a Disk and a Tape based file. Be warned though, Let's Invade is not for someone who suffers epilepsy or migraines as it takes the original Arcade 1978 Shooter Space Invaders by Tomohiro Nishikado and adds psychedelic moving backgrounds with upbeat trance music.

Let's Invade and Zombi Preview - 25th anniversary of ExCeSs with two C64 game previews

Today is the 25th anniversary of the C64 cracking group and sceners ExCeSs, and in celebration of 25 years of many great C64 releases, they have made available two tiny C64 previews, Let's Invade and Zombi. Although not much is known about the two games in terms of development, Zombi is a top down Zombie avoiding game provided by Red Rock and Tadpole of Excess, and Let's Invade is a space invaders game with a twist written by Richard Bayliss

Hover Raider RX +2H - River Raid meets Flying Shark on the C64

Some of my earliest game development memories consisted of messing around in Sensible Software's amazing Shoot Em Up Construction Kit (SEUCK) on my Commodore 64. The well presented and easy to use graphical interface really made it as simple as possible to create and share your own Shoot-em-ups. Ok, the games would never really be as hardcore as dedicated shoot-em-ups written from scratch, like R-Type or Nemesis.  Collectible power-ups, or horizontal scrolling would need some extra assembly programming to implement, and parallax scrolling was probably a little beyond the software's capabilities. But as games are still being released using the software today, the legacy of SEUCK lives on. As this SEUCK Trainers United release proves.

Eye of the Gods - Action platformer for the C64 with an exclusive review

After already doing an exclusive preview of Psytronik Software's arcade like game ' Honey Bee ', you'd probably think I was going to take a time out with a hot cup of coffee. Well that didn't happen, as here I am with a review, and again it's a Psytronik Software release. This one is called ' Eye of the Gods ' and is an action platformer with you in control of a mighty hero, to infiltrate the ancient ruins of the Cradle of Civilization and to find the Eye of the Gods, to save humanity from its own extinction.

Honey Bee - Bring back the pollen for the Queen Bee in this exclusive C64 preview

In 2014 Richard Bayliss and Wayne Womersley announced their work in progress Arcade style C64 game of ' Honey Bee ' for the RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Competition. The story of the game revolved around a rather happy looking Buzzy Bee that had to collect enough pollen to bring it back to the hive, because the Queen was rather angry at such a low honey production, no thanks to her other lazy workers. Well that same game, with the same story but much improved, has been made available through Psytronik Software for pre-order, and thanks to a good friend of ours has been given to us for an exclusive preview

T.H.E.A. [16kb Cartridge] - A My Little Pony C64 game created for his daughter and released for all today!

If ever my sisters said to me, can you make us a game? I'd either say I didn't have the time or in truth I'd say I have no idea how to. But that didn't stop Simon Quernhorst for making a C64 game for his daughter and releasing it for the RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition 2015. Welcome to ' T.H.E.A ' with music by Richard Bayliss; a game created for his daughter to get used to the controls and retro computers, but made available for everyone, more especially with small children.

Errazking's Petaco'5 - Ear blasting Pinball release for the C64

When Errazking gave me the heads up for his new Pinball compilation release for the C64, I was just a little bit excited. Pinball on any system is one of the coolest gaming experiences, especially if you've ever played Pinball Fantasies on the Amiga! But enough about that game, this is ' Errazking's Petaco'5 ' a 6 table compilation of Pinball machines for the C64 with a stunning set of tunes by Richard Bayliss and additional programming by Maniak.

Payback Time - Challenging SEUCK release for the C64

Another SEUCK release has appeared in our inbox and it's a C64 game that is so challenging it could almost have a stamp of insanity! Developed by Canzha Lahgher with music by Richard Bayliss, 'Payback Time' is a side scrolling SEUCK title that doesn't involve any heroics! Nope, in this game you are the Aliens on a mission to invade Earth. But be careful of the militants, as their firepower vastly outnumbers yours!

3000 Kung Fu Maniacs Demo - C64 game tease by Psytronik Software

Behold the latest demo release from Psytronik Software! A 1 level playable C64 preview demo of an upcoming fighting game "3,000 Kung Fu Maniacs". According to TND The idea of this game is to help your Master of Awesome fight his way across the streets of Ninjasville, punching and kicking those evil ninjas out of the way. Programmed by Alf Yngve (Using SEUCK) & Richard Bayliss (Enhancements) this butt kicking fighting game is just another worthy Psytronik addition!
