As a trilogy of games has just appeared in our news feeds that looks very much like the classic Kings Quest and Quest for Glory games right out of the DOS era. Welcome to ' The Telwynium: Book One, Book Two and Book Three ' by Powerhoof; a Sierra style series in which you are fleeing the Shadowfell with your childhood friends Tani and Witt, the irritable Uplander Otarr Stronghorn, and a colossal golem of mud and stone, summoned by the Aldor as the Shadowfell attacked (Book One).

Tachyon Dreams - The first episode of a new text-parser game with EGA graphics!

So, the new MCU movie, Captain Marvel, is on cinemas right now and as far as I remember, Carol Danvers isn’t in any video game whatsoever, so I decided to just review a classic sci-fi game set in space. And why not Space Quest II? Space Quest II: Chapter II – Vohaul’s Revenge is a graphic adventure made by Sierra and originally released in 1987 for the Apple II, Atari ST and DOS. It was re-released the following year for Amiga, Apple IIgs and Macintosh.

For those who had the privilege to experience videogames during the 80s and 90s (like yours truly), you probably noticed that the period between the late 80s and early 90s was probably the most prolific in terms of novelties. Basically, developers back then (but especially during that specific period) threw every idea they had at the wall to see what stuck and what not. In other words, developers and companies weren’t afraid to experiment with new ideas and concepts, and creativity was the most valuable asset when creating new games. And sometimes, they came up with some interesting games like the one we’re about to review. I’m talking about Manhunter: New York.

Order of the Throne - The Kings Challenge - Sierra style adventure is now available!


What a great day for Sierra fans, as Infamous Quests, the same team behind the hit adventure Quest for Infamy, have announced the release of ' The Order of the Thorne: The King's Challenge ' on GOG. A brand new game with a spankingly good story and lovely retro styled graphics of old, this is the first in a planned anthology's as you assume the role of Finn the Bard, a challenger in a competition held by the King to seek out his missing Queen. Along with your magical lute, Finn must use his cunning wit and musical ability to venture forth in this fantasy quest.

Curse of the Blue Lights : The Video Game - A Sierra style adaptation!


We haven't had a game like this for awhile, a PC adventure by the name of ' Curse of the Blue Lights ' which is in a similar style to the classic games of Sierra but based on a 1987 movie. Developed by an Hungarian team, this 80's style game tells the story of ghouls and zombies that feed on human flesh to bring about the reincarnation of a half-buried evil mythical creature. It's down to you as the protagonist to fight and survive this ancient curse and rescue his girlfriend.

King’s Quest – New Reveal Trailer & Remakes!

The very first King's Quest was released way back in 1984 and with a series of sequels is remembered as some of the best adventure games ever made. As for today's news, Sierra Games has released the Game Awards 2014 Reveal Trailer for the next King's Quest game. Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, the new King’s Quest re-imagines all the charm, humour, puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago.

Owl Hunt - Shoot Cedric in this humorous re-telling of Kings Quest V


Many years ago in the early 90's there was a classic Adventure game by Sierra called King's Quest V, which featured the first King's Quest instalment to replace the typing user interface with a point-and-click user interface. But there was one annoyance, that damn owl "Cedric the Owl" who was supposed to be a helpful guide throughout your journey but yet he just wouldn't shut up! So now is your chance shoot him, in this arcade like shooter that has that extra bit of humour thrown in for good measure.

Alum - Adventure Kickstarter success gets a Steam Greenlight campaign


Alum which is a point and click adventure Kickstarter success from 2013, is now going through a Steam Greenlight campaign. Developed by Crashable Studios (Micah Orsie) and in that classic Sierra style, the game will have an original storyline, lots of characters, puzzles and yes that all important multipurpose action cursor. Alum will also include an amazing original soundtrack of musical excellence to help craft the dynamic atmospheres, ranging from driving beats to ambient orchestrations.

Bik - 2D retro inspired Adventure up for votes through Steam Greenlight and teases us a Demo!


What do you get if you grab a Sierra title, throw it into space and then slam it into a 2014 asteroid, you'd probably get a game called BIK. Which is a 2D retro inspired Adventure from Zotnip games. This game takes most of it's inspiration from such well known classics such as King's Quest, Space Quest and many more. With a full on pixelated art and retro soundtrack and the all important hand cursor able to make choices through the click of a button, the developers hope for a Steam Greenlight success.

Infamous Quests have just released the latest trailer for the upcoming sierra style adventure game Quest for Infamy. This looks to be a high quality point and click adventure title especially as it was a huge kickstarter success that raised over $63K. But what could make this game even more impressive? Well how about the fact that the same developers behind the critically-acclaimed remakes of King’s Quest III and Space Quest 2 are developing this very title? Excited yet, I am!
