Soccer Kid - An Amiga platforming classic where your ball is a weapon!

Here's a great game that I have fond memories of as a child, probably the only game I can remember where your football (Soccer for the Americans) is a tool against the bad guys. Developed by Krisalis and released in 1993 for both the Amiga, SNES and 3DO is a fun Platformer staring the Soccer Kid! Play through any number of levels, performing runs, shots, bicycle kicks, headers and other popular footy moves while avoiding being hurt by the bad guys. The levels will also be different from above ground to swimming through water, oh and as it's SNES inspired. Your character can bash blocks and collect specials just like Mario. Certainly looks fun and I might just have a go on my Android device when it's available!

ICE - Classic Retro Console Emulation Through Steam

Release Update : Great news for us Retro gamers as a new company is set to take the Emulation side of things by storm. ICE is a new piece of Emulation software that will enable you to play classic games via Steam's Big Picture. All you have to do is run the software, let it make a rom folder, place your Rom files in that folder and then use ICE to pick your game of choice, what's more it comes pre-configured for your XBOX 360 controller! Hopefully they wont get a cease and desist order as it's a grey area with Rom files and they continue to update it.

Games I remember, with a remake - Dungeon Master

Well the time has finally arrived, it's time for Dungeon Master. The most epic of Dungeon Crawlers ever created, a game so popular that if you went onto any gaming forum today and said Dungeon Master you'd probably get every retro gamer going in a posting frenzy. But what is Dungeon Master? Dungeon Master is an early grid-based 3D real time rpg, that was first developed and published by FTL Games for the Atari ST in 1987.  It was so popular that it sold over 40,000 copies and became the ST's best selling product of all time, but even though it's home was the Atari ST, it went onto other platforms.

What a night that was, 11pm writing up this article and the internet goes offline and was still down many hrs later. All down to some rather nice people going into the exchanges and smashing up the hardware, ended up back online at 7am. Ah well back to what most of us love, nostalgia!
