Golf Daisuki!: O.B. Club - Anime sports SNES fun gets an English translation
I might be falling asleep at my computer, but I'm awake just enough to write about the latest English translation release of the SNES game ' Golf Daisuki!: O.B. Club ', also known as ' I Love Golf!: Out of Bounds Club ' by Dynamic-Designs. I have never heard of this game before, but Romhacking has said that this game was originally released and distributed through the Satellaview Nintendo network for Super Famicon in Japan, and is a Miniature golf and regular golf combined style of game.
Super Mario Kart goes mental with 101 players!
In the early 90s' Nintendo released one of the greatest go-kart racing games ever for the SNES, and that game was Super Mario Kart, which has sold well over 9 million copies in its life time. But even if the game was an awesome multiplayer experience battling your way through to first place, you have probably never seen it with 101 players. Well that's exactly what Hat-Loving Gamer has done with this great classic as the game is full to the brim with gaming characters spanning many years.
Super Aleste (BS) - Early 90s SNES Shoot em up, now available in full English!
To tell you the truth, although I did play on the SNES briefly, it was not my most preferred of gaming systems. It wasn't until much later in my years that I finally had the chance to play all the fantastic games it had to offer, both English and even in Japanese. Once such shoot 'em up game ' Super Aleste (BS) ' published by Toho and part of the Aleste series by Compile, was recently given the translation treatment by tettsui77 and is now fully English translated as version 1.0.
Demon Child Zenki Battle Raiden - SNES platformer is now fully translated!
We have just been given the heads up by our friends Retrotaku, that you can now download and play the fully translated English release of the SNES game ' Demon Child Zenki - Battle Raiden '. Originally a very early Manga from the 90's that then became a SNES action platformer, you play as Zenki a powerful demon, revived from along sleep by the re-appearance of evil. Sadly you have been turned into a human with his powers kept under control and only chiaki having the power to change him back. As is the case with Anime/Manga based games it's probably best you read the full story as even this game went almost right over my head!
Dorke and Ymp - Unreleased SNES title finally appears and it looks good!
You may have noticed by now that we usually bang on about unreleased Amiga and or C64 games seeing the light of day, but gonintendo has announced the release of an action platformer that goes by the name of ' Dorke and Ymp ' for the SNES. According to Piko Interactive who made the game available, Dorke and Ymp is an unreleased Super Nintendo game developed back in the early 1990's by a Swedish company called Norse. The game was developed with unlicensed tools made by the game programmers. Unfortunately the game failed to acquire a publisher and was never released.. Until now!

Steam Early Access: BiT Evolution - A game that respects every aspect of retro gaming
Curse of the Crescent Isle DX - XBOX 360 retro inspired platformer get's a PC overhaul
Back in 2010 the developer Run ACM released 'Curse of the Crescent Isle' via XBOX Live for the XBOX 360 console. Although it was a fine Indie release sporting retro inspired graphics, a NES tune and fun Mario like game play it wasn't until now that the developer felt the need to release an overhauled PC, MAC and Linux version titled 'Curse of the Crescent Isle DX via a Steam Greenlight campaign.
The Forbidden City - Top quality Zelda fun from Jamian
We haven't featured a Zelda fan release for a very long time and thankfully with the release of ' The Forbidden City' that is about to change. Developed by Jamian, the same developer behind Zelda: Linked To The Past, The Forbidden City is a highly impressive fan release that features a real ocarina item, gasha seeds and rings, 7 large dungeons and smaller mini-dungeons, fully scripted bosses and minibosses, minigames and scripted items.
Super Retro TRIO Console - 3 in one retro system NES / SNES / Genesis / Megadrive (HARDWARE REVIEW)
Moving on from the Amstrad's, the C64's and the ZX Spectrum, today we are going to look at a rather cool retro based console sent to us by funstock, who previously sent us the Commodore 64 : A visual Commpendium. This is the Super Retro TRIO developed by Retro-Bit; an impressive looking (NES / SNES / Genesis/Megadrive - 3 in 1 System ), that can play those old console games without actually having to switch consoles. Today we are going to give you that hardware review and give our final opinion from both myself Neil and my other staff writer David.
HD Retrovision Cables - Component video cables for retro consoles
Getting crisp pictures out of gaming machines on domestic TV's has always been a bit of a panacea for retro-gaming enthusiasts, from the point that you realise that tuning your TV into an RF-Channel actually produces the worst quality, lowest common denominator visuals you could imagine, to the realisation that sanctuary lies in upgraded cables via better transmission mediums. In the case of most 8 and 16-bit consoles, that nirvana was usually in an S-Video output.
Custom SNES: Castlevania Dracula’s Castle Edition
The last time we featured a custom NES it was by Silius and had a flip out LCD screen and can be played directly as if it was a mini gaming system. But this time we are going one step further in modding as we take a look at a custom SNES, the Castlevania Dracula’s Castle Edition. Modified from top to bottom to the extreme by Vadu Amka, it is based on Castlevania and would be worthy of an art award. He has not only given it an incredible paint job but added neat touches like the skull and wood like panelling to give it that fantasy mysterious Castlevania look.
Momodora III - Action platform game that's highly recommended
I have generally have no complaints when it comes to action plaformers and especially when it comes to the Momodora series as it's usually at the top end of my recommended wishlist. To see that Momodora III is now available to buy got me all in a bit of excitement. Developed by Rdein, Momodora III is a great action platformer that has the retro inspired look of a SNES game and the playability of a more modern Cave Story. Although it's the third in the series the developers have stated that it focuses on more linear level design and previous titles are not necessary to enjoy this one.
Forsaken Isle - Wilderness survival in an RPG SNES style for early access
I for one am a huge fan of SNES style RPG's with the 16-bit colour pallet, great storyline and addictive game play, so it was great to see that Forsaken Isle, which is very much like a SNES style game is now available to buy for early access. Forsaken Isle by Smoodlez, is a little different than your average retro inspired RPG though, as it's a wilderness survival game focused around crafting and the will to survive as a marooned Pirate.
iPushover - Classic retro puzzler available for iOS
Without even saying the name I bet most of you retro gamers will know this game by just seeing the above screenshot! It's none other than Pushover, or as the developers Red Rat Software are calling it, iPushover which is based on an all time classic platforming game. A game which appeared on the Amiga, Atari ST, PC and SNES in 1992 where you are tasked with re-arranging dominoes so that a single push results in a cascade of falling dominoes to unlock the exit door. This version has 99 levels spread over 9 different worlds , costs £1.49 for iOS devices and is a pretty decent remake.
Midora - Gorgeous 90's inspired Action-Adventure game gets a Kickstarter
As you may or may not know I'm a huge fan of Action-Adventure games or RPG's that take me back to the gaming years of the SNES, and Midora from Epic Minds is very much inspired by that era. According to the developer Midora is a love letter to classic 2D Action-Adventure games to the like of Legend of Zelda or Secret of Mana. Featuring beautiful retro inspired graphical detail, 12 unforgiving dungeons, 6 villages and cities, the King's castle, mountains and forests, swamps, a huge map with colourful characters and plenty of baddies, this is a Kickstarter that you really should be funding. It looks just perfect for a retro inspired action adventure.
Secrets of Grindea - Action RPG first Impressions & beta playthrough
PixelFerrets was kind enough to provide us with an early teaser for Secrets of Grindea and through most of this afternoon I was giving the game a quick playthrough. A game described as an Action RPG that is inspired by the classic Action RPG SNES titles of the past. From the initial load up you can customize your character, giving him that style to your liking which it gives it that little bit of edge over other SNES titles and really adds to the personality of the game. But it's not until you actually get into Grindea you realise just how good and retro this game looks, it's a thing of beauty for SNES fans!
Secrets of Grindea - An Action RPG with a hint of SNES for Early Access
Welcome to Secrets of Grindea, which is an old-school Action RPG that gives us that taste of the old SNES 16-bit charm. Developed by PixelFerrets and having online co-op support for up to 4 players, is a game that could almost be described as new Zelda classic, especially as the graphics are pretty similar and how the combat plays out. You'll also be pleased to know that Secrets of Grindea has a skill tree system, a lengthy storyline, craft able items, a cute pet system and more. This fine SNES style game is up for pre-order with early access, or if you are still unsure, try the demo!
