Here on Indie Retro News we've certainly had our fair share of Castlevania fan games! We've had the more recent release of Maria Renard's Revenge and the in-dev Akumajou Dracula AGA for the Amiga. Well here we are with yet ANOTHER Amiga news story, as Saberman was kind enough to let us know earlier today, that he has done a new video of the rather lovely looking Castlevania inspired Demo of 'GothicVania'; A tech demo which has been created using Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine.
3D engine for Amiga A1200 as a Spyro The Dragon tech demo, impresses the Amiga scene!
Even though I was rather late with this news update as a bad headache got in the way, but if you have a Commodore Amiga 1200 and want to try something out, that looks very impressive, especially as it is running on a stock original A1200 with just 4Mb FastRam, then make sure to check out this 3D engine for an Amiga A1200 as a Spyro The Dragon tech demo by Rst7/CBSIE. As in the words of one our Commodore Facebook members "prepare to be wowed" and "incredible".
Retro Virtual Machine v2.1.0 - A feature packed emulator for Windows, MacOs and Linux
For those of you who have followed Indie Retro News throughout the years, you have probably noticed that we mainly feature retro games and PC(Windows) based news. But today I was contacted about a brand new emulator update for Windows, MacOs and Linux, that had some rather interesting features which could make it one of the best emulators to be used at home your PC. The emulator I'm going to mention is ' Retro Virtual Machine ' which is currently at version 2.1.0.
Amiga Forever 10 - Cloanto releases a feature packed emulation package for 2022
Although many of us stick to real hardware, unofficial gaming packages from the likes of GamesNostalgia or TheCompany.PL, or a quick load up through software such as FS-UAE and WinUAE. There's still a rather large fan base who prefer using the commercial Cloanto Emulation packages such as Amiga Forever and C64 Forever. Checking our Facebook feeds today we recently had a heads up from our good friend Ethan Knight of a new update that everyone in the BBC Micro community is sure to be excited over. Yes indeed if you had a BBC Micro back in the 1980's, then make sure to check out the 3D BBC Micro Simulator of VirtualBeeb! As in the words of our good friend Ethan "I wish to God Mr Carless or Mr Gilchrist could have seen this. Everything about it just smacked me right back to computer class 🥰 A fully emulated BBC Micro, in your browser, capable of doing everything a Model B could do! You can even write code on it or connect to Telnet \o/"

Putting aside all the great games for the moment, we've just been told through our Facebook and Twitter page, that the very latest version of AmigaOS 3.2 has been released into the wild for all classic Amiga's. For those of you who don't know what AmigaOS is. It is a fully updated and polished operating system for 68k machines, packed with well over 100 new features, dozens of updates that cover nearly all AmigaOS components and a battery of bugfixes that will undoubtedly solidify the user experience.

WHDLoad 18.6 - New Amiga Harddisk-install package release!
A late evening announcement for Amiga users as WHDLoad; the AmigaOS friendly Harddisk-Install package by Bert Jahn has been updated to a brand new WHDLoad 18.6 final version. With well over a year in development, WHDLoad is probably the best software available for your Amiga, as it makes it possible to install quite a lot demos and games, which were originally designed to run only from floppy disks, to your harddisk.

But one such engine is making its presence known, and that's Earok's upcoming Scorpion engine; a nifty piece of software that at some point will allow other users to create great games as 50HZ on A500...Or as in the case of the latest Tales of Gorluth conversion and other footage shown through this year so far, the possibility of creating higher end games with smooth scrolling even on lower end machines.
WinUAE 4.2.1 - A small bug fix release for a great Amiga emulator
Just as I was going to bed I got a nice heads up from Vincent GR, that Toni Wilen had released a new Amiga Emulator update of ' WinUAE 4.2.1'. Now for those of you who do want to know... This isn't a big feature update compared to the previous announcement of 4.2.0, but does feature a number of bug fixes such as graphics corruption and Picasso IV and uaegfx YUV (video) overlay, which makes this a recommend version to one of the best Amiga emulators available!
GoADF - A fantastic piece of Amiga software your Amiga will thank you for!
The Amiga community is incredibly strong at the moment, sporting not just new games and new hardware, but the odd Kickstarter has also appeared which makes our computers really stand out branding new colours and fancy LED lights. But now we look towards a kickass piece of software for our Amiga goodness, as we've just been told by Bitplan Krzysztof Donat, that he has launched GoADF: a fabulous new program that does more than just support ADF files (Floppy Files)

WinUAE 4.1.0 - Another feature packed Amiga Emulator release!
AmigaOS 3.1.4 & BestWB 1.0 - Amiga operating system release
Putting aside the games for the moment, we've just been told through our twitter page that both AmigaOS 3.1.4 and BestWB 1.0 have been released for the Commodore Amiga community. AmigaOS 3.1.4 is a fully updated and polished operating system for 68k machines, whereas BestWB 1.0 is a workbench pack as an enhancement/updated extension to AmigaOS 3.1.4 without those *ahem* hardware penalties.
iGame v2 - A well known Amiga game launcher gets a new public beta
If you have an Amiga with an internal CF drive or any other way of playing whdload games such as through Emulation like WinUAE, then this may be the software update that your Amiga thanks you for. Although there are other OS utilities to play Amiga games such as AG-launch and X-Bench, iGame was one of the most practical of game launchers during any CF install. So if you remember it, especially if you've installed ClassicWB, then you'll be pleased to know iGame has reached version 2 and it's the first public beta!
