Wasteland - Journey through the Wasteland in this rather cool Atari XL/XE game


We've had a lot of platformers and text based adventure games lately on the Atari XL/XE, so to change all that, we are pleased to announce as thanks to Saberman, the release of the Atari game 'Wasteland' by Michael Jaskula (mike). Yes indeed if you're looking something fresh on the Atari XL/XE then look no further than this game, as traversing the dangerous Wastelands you'll come across uniquly designed areas, as you try to escape this hellish landscape using your escape pod!

1337 Karate - Fight the competition in this Karate game released at Revision 2019.



Yet another Saberman heads up and no not an Amiga game, is this C64 karate based preview called ' 1337 Karate ' by Abyss Connection which pits you against the computer or another player in a multitude of karate competitions. Yes indeed if you loved playing games such as International Karate, IK+, or even Street Fighter, then read on as I think you'll agree this game could almost be described as a blend of those games rolled into one.

BioJet - Flying platformer as a first release for the Amiga community!


On our return to writing game news, Saberman was kind enough to send us some Amiga updates, as he has just told us Roy Schneider and team have released the flying platformer of BioJet. Now if you've not heard of this game before, that's because it was only just released on the Aminet file website, and is using the graphics of a previous game called Cybergene. Which was released on the MS-DOS platform in 1997 as a project drawn on serveral Amiga's.

Star MIG - Blast away enemies in space in this SEUCK Compo C64 shooter


I know many of you are still calming down after finding out that the C64 version of Super Mario Bros was not fake but the real deal, but you might also be interested in playing this fine little shoot em up that was released recently called ' Star MIG '. Now unlike the platforming fun of Super Mario Bros, this one is a top scrolling shoot em up developed by VG VOX, with music by Richard Bayliss and SEUCK Version standard by Sensible Soff

Wormwood Preview - Early alpha version of a randomly generated C64 wormy platformer!


If you've got a C64 and want to play a game that's still in development, then you might be interested to know that Lemonspawn is working on a C64 randomly generated platformer called ' Wormwood ', which they also class as a 16kb classic roguelike action RPG in the spirit of games such as Diablo or nethack. In light of this news, Laxity was kind enough to make available an early preview to play that is still highly enjoyable even at this early stage.

Sardonic - Another arcade shooter appears on the Amiga!


We are not finished with the Amiga news yet! As moments ago we were told that *ahem* Penisoft had released their Amiga game of ' Sardonic ', which looks to be a remake of a PC game they released way back in 2003. Now unlike the other game we featured previously, this one is a top scrolling shoot em up by MADAXE, and features music by FRED as both OCS/ECS and AGA versions requiring 1MB Chipram.

RiverRaid Reloaded - A new River Raid clone released for the Amiga


While many of you are probably enjoying Project R3D's River Raid style game of ' Bridge Strike ', you might also interested to know that as of today Alpha One has released his River Raid clone of ' RiverRaid Reloaded ', which has been released for the Commodore Amiga. Now if you've not heard of this classic game before, that's because it was originally released in 1982 for the Atari 2600, and then ported over to many different systems such as the C64 and ZX Spectrum as a game viewed from a top-down perspective, flying a fighter jet over the River of No Return in a raid behind enemy lines.

Blask - First person shooter Amiga tech demo update


Once again 'Blask (eng. Shine?, Glow?, Glare?)' is in the news, as Saberman has just given us a quick heads up to tell us a new Amiga tech demo was available for this work in progress first person shooter developed using AMOS. We had already announced the previous tech demo to this game, but this new version doesn't just feature a larger 3px screen size, but also included is a new full screen addition!

Robbo After 30 Years - 30th celebration of a classic Action Puzzle game (Atari XL/XE)


If you don't have a C64 but an Atari XL/XE then this news should cheer you up! As we've just been told by Saberman that Lukas Bezdek has released the 30th Anniversary game ' Robbo After 30 Years ' for the Atari XL/XE. This game based around the classic 1980's Action Puzzle game, doesn't just feature new levels, but there's new challenges to be had with new puzzles making it feel fresh for anyone who remembers that classic title!

Adventure Ponies - My Little Pony comes to the Atari XL/XE (64K Required)


Another heads up from Saberman as he recently contacted us, to let us know that Gibstov had released his Atari XL/XE game called ' Adventure Ponies ', which is an Atari 8-bit port of the flashgame "Adventure Ponies" from the Hub network. Now if you want to play a charming game, which would also be good for kids to play, then you'll pleased to know this game is not only family friendly but stars characters straight out of the cartoon My Little Pony.

Berks Four - Super duper blaster for the Atari XL/XE


It's the Atari XL/XE's time to shine today as over the weekend we were contacted by Saberman of a new game called "Berks Four", which was coded by Jon Williams who was also behind another classic game called "Jet Boot Jack". In short, Jon has previously worked on other games such as "Baby Berks" , "Major Blink" and "Berks 3" and this is the completely different extended version growing to 64KB of data!

Blask - First person shooter Amiga tech 2 demo update


It's a Monday which means it's time to start writing retro news, and for the first piece of news here's a new Amiga tech 2 demo called 'Blask (eng. Shine?, Glow?, Glare?)', or as its previous name 'Alien Enemy: Dangerous Alien', which is a new improved demo with updated movements. To coincide with this news for what still looks like a very early work in progress first person shooter, not only has Saberman done a gameplay video, but you can download the AMOS test version below!

Dragonfire ZX - Another Atari 2600 to ZX Spectrum port by Luca Bordoni


Another ZX Spectrum port to grace our speccy screens and again from Luca Bordoni using AGDX, is the Atari 2600 game Dragonfire, which was first released in 1982 as another game by Imagic. Yes indeed get ready to play another port, but unlike the other game we mentioned previously, this one puts you in control of a guy who must steal the treasure from a fire breathing dragon while also avoiding deadly fireballs!

Mister Kung Fu - A kick ass Kung Fu Master conversion via ZX-Dev-MIA-Remakes compo


With the end of the year fast approaching, you would be forgiven for thinking there wouldn't be anymore fantastic games released, especially as the Christmas rush had ended and New Years Eve is only tomorrow. Well boy do we have surprise for you! As if you followed our previous write up regarding Mister Kung Fu; a full conversion of the 1980's side-scrolling beat 'em up game Kung Fu Master, which appeared on many different systems such as the ZX Spectrum. You'll be overjoyed to learn that Uprising Games has officially released version 1.0 via the ZX-Dev M.I.A / Remakes competition.

Tank Blasta - SEUCK C64 game featuring music by Richard Bayliss


When someone says to me Richard Bayliss I always think of banging tunes with just about every C64 game he's involved in. Sure enough that's also true of the latest game that was released over the weekend, and that was ' Tank Blasta '; a SEUCK C64 game coded by SENSISOFT in which you play as a tank and must blast away everything in your path!

Coco Banana - Going Banana's for this new Amiga game by Amiten Software


Even more Amiga games to get through this weekend as we've recently been informed by our good friend Saberman, that Amiten Software's colourful platformer of ' Coco Banana ' is not only ready for pre-orders as a limited boxed edition priced at 19,90€, but there's a public demo for you to try as well! This game was mentioned on our site some time ago, and is a cute platformer developed using AMOS software, and the team behind it is Johnny Acevedo, Luis Fernandez and Dani Hermans.

Rogue - Dmitry Krapivin's Roguelike release for the ZX Spectrum


We've had a lot of Amiga and C64 news this week, so to balance it all out we have a new ZX Spectrum game to show you in the form of a roguelike called ' Rogue ', which was developed by Dmitry Krapivin. Now if you like traversing through maze like levels and battling deadly enemies then read on, as Rogue might just be the game for you!

Spider Maze - Collect Diamonds and avoid Spiders in this new C64 game


Saberman is on the ball again for the retro gaming video community, as just recently he's uploaded a new video of a C64 game called ' Spider Maze ' which was coded by Richard Bayliss via The New Dimension for the Scene World Magazine. This game developed using assembler is a brand new arcade maze experience, as playing as a yellow faced character you must collect all the diamonds to move onto the next ever harder level!

Druidarium - Action platformer for the Atari XL/XE with smooth scrolling

Zbigniew 'Saberman' Zielinski has again contacted us with more great retro gaming info, as he has told us KK has made available his action platformer 'Druidarium' for the Atari XL/XE. This game which came 2nd in the Silly Venture 2018 Atari XL/XE Game competition, puts you in control of a Druid who has woken up with a start to a once peaceful land now full of menacing bats, evil skeletons, and creepy ghosts and wraiths. It's down to you to find the scrolls and orbs, and bring back peace to the land now overtaken by evil.

Nutmeg & Insidia - Two Backbone Amiga games


Saberman is on the ball again for the Amiga community, as just recently he's uploaded two videos of two Amiga games that might be worth a quick playthrough. The first one 'Nutmeg ' is a cute side scrolling platformer in which you must avoid obstacles while collecting stars, and the second one 'Insidia' has a much more darker tone set upon a strange planet, with the task of finding repair kits to fix your broken ship.
