As we have found out that DomKid, who is behind games such as the Castlevania fan game of Maria Renard's Revenge. Is still working on the new game of 'Forest of Illusion' via the Scorpion Engine. As in his words "new game inspired by the Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion and Mickey Mania series, some improvements and additions to the Ansimuz graphic art". To coincide with this news, we've got the original video from last year, and the latest gameplay video posted just 18 hours ago!
The Lost Vikings 2 Amiga - 1997 SNES game by Interplay could be coming to the Amiga (AGA)
Even more Amiga news for you all, as we've recently come across a post by Earok via Facebook, that the SNES version of the game 'The Lost Vikings 2' published by Interplay Productions, could be coming to the Commodore Amiga AGA using the Scorpion Engine. Although when I asked him if this was 100% certified he said, "Started experimenting with Lost Vikings 2 SNES assets with the view to port to AGA Amiga" and "I can't 100% verify, but the plan is to release something with it eventually (if not the whole game, at least the first few levels as a "demo")". So yes there's a chance it may never come to be, but there's still hope!
Jump 'n Bump - Multiplayer mayhem with Cute bunnies in this WIP Commodore Amiga OCS game!
It wasn't long ago now that we gave you the heads up, that the 1998 game of ' Jump 'n Bump ', which was released for MS-DOS and as a later remastered version, was coming to the Commodore Amiga, by none other than Earok of the Scorpion Engine. Well if you've been waiting for more news on this game, we are pleased to tell you that as of today, you can try out the latest beta version that essentially contains the core feature set from the original game. Although the creator does state , it hasn't been well tested yet so there may be bugs yet to be found or fixed.
Jump 'n Bump - Cute bunnies battling it out in this teased Commodore Amiga OCS and Sega Mega Drive game! [Alpha Available]
Titled as ' Jump 'n Bump ', this game was originally released for free by Brainchild Design in 1998 for MS-DOS. It supported 4 players and was about bunnies crushing each other to death to get the highest score. So why are we mentioning this now? Well not only was the game released some time ago as a remastered version for modern systems by Domarius Games(link). But at some point in the near future, Earok will be porting the game over to the Commodore Amiga and Sega Mega Drive via the Scorpion Engine.
Aeon's Legend - An OLD Amiga demo level to show the progress and game features of the Scorpion Engine
The Amiga news just keeps on coming, as we've just been told by our good friend Saberman, that at some point during September 2023 the Whatiff Amiga magazine provided a BitBeam Cannon Demo of 'Aeon's Legend': a demo level to show the progress and game features of the Scorpion Engine, which was provided as a cover disk from the September issue, and can be downloaded below. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also provided some footage of the level.

As we said before, while many of you have played Shadow Dancer on the Amiga, some of you felt while the game was fun, it was lacking in graphics, noting by many as having an Atari ST colour-palette and no Parallax. Well one such user is hoping to change that negative view, as msmalik681 has shown a project for a Mega Drive to Amiga port of Shadow Dancer using the Scorpion Engine. A new version of the game which the creator states "The megadrive version was the same game re-imagined and it was much better then the original arcade game. I played this game to death when I was younger and I loved it".

Lots of Amiga Boxx goodness thanks to Lemming880 and team!
Lemming880 has been mentioned a number of times on Indie Retro News, as he has released a number of enjoyable games such as Boxx, Boxx 2, Boxx 3 and even Boxx 4. Well here with another Amiga news story from the same creator, as he has released another load of updates to each of those games we have mentioned previously. Games that were originally created in Backbone and have all been ported over to Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine using graphics by Koyot1222.
Rastan - Another Alpha update to a fabulous WIP Amiga 500 and above Arcade game!
Last week on Indie Retro News we gave you the heads up about a new alpha demo of 'Rastan' that was made available by basementApe for the Commodore Amiga. Well fast forward to today and if you're hoping for some new updates in regards to this Arcade development using Earok's excellent scorpion engine, then we have been told a new alpha demo has been made available. A demo which hopes to fix some of the bugs highlighted in Saberman's previous game video which showed an early build of the game in action.

It feels like it was only yesterday that we announced that Taito's 1987 Arcade game of 'Rastan' was coming to the Commodore Amiga, thanks to the hard work of basementApe. Well fast forward to today and we have some more news for this Arcade development using Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine. As Saberman has informed us that an Alpha update of Rastan has been made available for you to try on your Amiga or via emulation. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also done a new gameplay video showing this alpha version in action.

We've featured a number of Arcade to Amiga conversions/ports throughout the years, from the more recent Super Xevious, to Flying Shark, Green Beret and even our personal favorite Wonder Boy by AcidBottle. Well if you're looking for even more Arcade like updates on the site, then we have just been told by our good friends Liqmatrix and Earok, that basementApe is still working on the Arcade to Amiga game of Rastan; a side-scrolling hack and slash video game released by Taito for arcades in 1987, which was also a critical and commercial success!
Tales of Gorluth III (Amiga) - The Third and Final Chapter but as a Scorpion Engine creation?
Sometime back we did a big announcement of AMIworx Action RPG of Tales of Gorluth III; A game which featured brand new monsters, traps, treasures and riddles, boss fights and an emotional story in English or German, as the third and final game in the series. Well this game is back in the news for the Amiga community, as Toolkitman has shown what Tales of Gorluth III could perform like, if it was created using the Scorpion Engine and not Backbone. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a video showing the prototype(?) in action.
Rick Dangerous - A platforming classic as a remastered edition for the Amiga 1200/CD32!
