Neeso Games could be working on a Bionic Commando clone on the Amiga using the Scorpion Engine!

Even though Indie Retro News has been flooded with new game updates, we have another Amiga news story to share with you all. As if you have been following Neeso Games upcoming Amiga game of Jackal, which is a remake of the NES top-down shooter of the same name, then you might be interested to know the same developer *might* be working on a Bionic Commando clone on the Amiga with the Scorpion Engine. Although he does state "Basic movement is there, now I have to replace the jump with the hook mechanic, it's going to be tricky :)".

Green Beret(Rush'n Attack) - A retro classic previously released on the Amiga as an Arcade(ish) conversion gets an update

Green Beret was an action arcade game released by Konami in 1985. It is remembered for its Cold War setting and its reliance on the player using mainly a knife to dispatch enemies, although you were able to collect many different weapons including a flame thrower to cause maximum damage. So why is this game getting another mention on IRN? Well thanks to Saberman letting us know, we've been told Dante Mendes has released an update to his Arcade(like) conversion of Green Beret which was recently released for the Amiga using Earok's Scorpion Engine.

Rick Dangerous - A very difficult platforming classic as a remastered edition for the Amiga 1200/CD32 gets a beta download!

If you remember playing the late 80's game of 'Rick Dangerous'; a very challenging platformer that made you feel like an Indiana Jones character traversing dangerous locations such as caves and temples while avoiding the bad guys and deadly boulders and spiked traps, then you might like this latest news story. As thanks to a heads up from Saberman, we've found out that the in development remastered edition which is coming to the Amiga 1200 and CD32 using Earok's Scorpion Engine, is ready for testing as the first public beta!

Green Beret was one of the hardest games I had ever played on the Amstrad and yet was one of the games that gave me the best memories! So why is this game getting another mention on IRN? Well as of today thanks to the developer letting us know, Dante Mendes has finally released the Arcade conversion of Green Beret which has been developed for the Amiga using Earok's Scorpion Engine.

Even to this day, if you ask someone what they thought of Double Dragon, and they'd probably tell you of an awesome Arcade beat em up released in 1987, that gave you the option to play two twin martial artists who could kick, punch and throw enemies off scene through many different levels. Well if you had this game on pretty much every system going but felt the Amiga version was lacking, you'll be pleased with this news update. As Mark Day has shown some brand new footage of the upcoming Arcade quality port which is being developed for the Amiga!

We've always had a soft spot for that classic Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and DOS game 'Rick Dangerous'; a very challenging action platformer from the late 80's, that made you feel like an Indiana Jones character traversing dangerous locations such as caves and temples while avoiding the bad guys and deadly boulders and spiked traps. Well if you remember this fine game (some people didn't like it) and have an Amiga 1200 or a CD32, Z-Team has announced an enhanced 32 color edition that's currently in development using Earok's Scorpion Engine!

Double Dragon - Development has resumed to develop an Arcade classic over to the Amiga using the Scorpion Engine

Another early heads up and yet again a weekend news story as thanks to Earok who was kind enough to give me a shout out at 5.30am (bad Earok :p), he has told us Raptor Games has shown off a very early work in progress teaser video of ' Lost Asylum '; A high quality 50HZ run 'n gun game, that is being developed using the Scorpion Engine as a love letter to that classic 1994 game Ruff N Tumble for the Commodore Amiga.

Maria Renard's Revenge - An upcoming Amiga Castlevania fan game gets another WIP tease

In April of this year we gave you the heads up of a brand new game coming to the Amiga, which had Castlevania vibes and was the creators very first attempt at using the Scorpion Engine. Well fast forward to today and thanks to Earok giving us another heads up, we have been told the Scorpion developed Castlevania fan game, which features multiple enemy types and parallax backgrounds, has got another WIP video tease for Maria Renard's Revenge.

Morci - Upcoming family friendly Amiga game gets exclusive new demo footage

It might be a Saturday but this news was too cool not to be passed on by, as we've recently been informed via @GirolamoTGO, that the upcoming Owl game of Morci, which is being developed by czorny, has just got an exclusive video update. This game which has been mentioned by us many times before, is a fun for all the family Amiga title, which doesn't just feature charming detail of lush woodlands and bonus levels, but different enemy types, collectable items, and much much more that's sure to come!

Star Force - An arcade port using Earok's Scorpion Engine is coming to the Amiga

The Amiga news just keeps on coming, as after already mentioning great games such as Super Cars 2 AGA, Dark Angel and Primal Blade, we now have another game to talk about called 'Star Force'. Yes indeed, this game which is a vertical-scrolling shooter released in 1984 by Tehkan or the other name as Mega Force by Video Ware. Will be coming to the Amiga as an Arcade port developed by acidbottle using Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine. Do be aware however this is the first announcement of the game, but you can view an early alpha/project gif below!

Primal Blade - A new Scorpion Engine hack n Slash Amiga game is still in the works

Another great heads up for you all, as thanks to Earok giving us the shoutout on Facebook and via the Scorpion Engine Facebook page, we've been told that Dante 3d dev@dantemendes has shown some brand new footage of his work in progress Amiga game of Primal Blade: An action platformer for the Commodore Amiga as you battle evil forces with sword in hand across a vast and dangerous landscape.

A new Scorpion Engine hack n Slash Amiga game is in the works

A very early Amiga heads up for you all, as thanks to Earok spreading the news on Facebook, we've been told that Dante 3d dev@dantemendes is working on a new action platformer for the Amiga, which is being developed using Earok's excellent Scorpion engine. Although details are very sparse at this stage, the developer has released some very early footage and hopes to add more game development information down the line.

As most of you are aware, there are different ways to create Amiga games, either through Amos, Blitz Basic, RedPill or through the rather lackluster Backbone. But one such game engine is becoming the highlight of nearly every new Amiga game or tech demo announcement, and that's Earok's Scorpion Engine; a constantly updated piece of software that gives developers the tools to create graphically impressive games, running at decent frame rates even on the lowest spec'd Amigas.

As Earok has just given us another heads up on the Scorpion Engine Facebook page, that a new Amiga game is coming called 'Polar Panic'; A work in progress Arcade Platformer from Gaz Marshall, that is being created using the rather popular Scorpion Engine.
