Hedgewars 0.9.19 Released! - A new generation of Worms

If you thought Worms was awesome, then check out this free game! This is Hedgewars, which is an open source turn based strategy, artillery, action and comedy game. Basically the aim of the game, to kick the crap out of each other by any means possible. They might be cute hedgehogs but watch out, as they have one serious attitude. Not only does Hedgewars have the capability to play with up to 8 players online, you also have an infinite number of randomly generated maps, with over 22 environments and 47 or more weapons to use and more. 

Skyward Collapse : turn-based 4x simulation god-game released! (+Demo)

Arcen Games, Developers of AI War, the hit space game have just released The SkyWard Collapse, a turn-based 4x simulation god-game. Unlike other god games whereby you use your god like powers to smash the opposition, this is about keeping the peace. Many miles up in the sky is a floating landmass and it's here you spend time in development and the overseeing of two warring factions, The Greeks and The Norse.

This is either a solo or co-op game, help both sides, grant each side new buildings, resources and even more people. Sound fun? Well there's plenty to do here it seems and it's a far deeper game than explained, so watch the trailer, check out the demo and perhaps spend some money ;)

Heroes of a Broken Land - Multi style RPG announced

Although Heroes of a Broken Land is described as a classic style, turn-based RPG, it has more than one style of game to it's core. Not only can you explore a large procedural generated overworld, but you can also manage towns and visit scary places in the style of a Dungeon Crawler! Although the graphics are not much to write about, there's a lot work that's been put into the gameplay, which is far more important in my opinion. Heroes of a Broken Land is being developed by Winged Pixel for the PC, Mac and Linux but an alpha version is available to play now.

Dark Quest - Hero Quest Inspired Turn Based RPG

A long time ago in the days of the Amiga, a game called Hero Quest was released, which itself was a conversion of the great table top game. It was one of the best Isometric Amiga games of it's time, although it did have a number of system ports, even the Spectrum! Fast forward to now and we have DarkQuest, which is inspired by Hero Quest. You can even hear the slight variation music sound track in DarkQuest from the original title. This is a turn based fantasy rpg where you assume the role of a muscle bound barbarian on his quest to destroy the evil sorcerer.  The graphics are of very high quality and i'm sure many Hero gamers will get that nostalgia vibe.

Battle Worlds: Kronos - Turn-based strategy, kickstarter funded!

Excuse me while I just go find my wow button, ok found it WOW, this game calls for a celebration. The developers King Art Games are developing a pretty incredible looking Turn-Based Strategy title called Battle Worlds: Kronos. It's incredible in the fact that it looks almost like Battle Isle, but with beautiful graphics and impressive gameplay, which has been lacking these many years. What's more, in under a week, they've already smashed the kickstarter goal of $120,00 and are still increasing in pledges, that tells you what the people want.

Underrail - Epic turn based isometric RPG inspired by classic RPG games (update)

Underrail by Stygian software, which we featured here has just had a brand new trailer to show off just how good this game really is. This is a turn based isometric RPG inspired by classic RPG games such as Fallout, Arcanum, Neverwinter Nights and System Shock 2. Shadowrun Returns - Alpha Gameplay Footage

With a massive kickstarter success totaling $1,836,447 pledged of a $400,000 goal, Shadowrun Returns is an all time classic game pulled into a brand new generation. With the feeling of Fallout and other such greats, this is a turn-based RPG with a strong emphasis on storytelling and tactical combat. This is the first Alpha gameplay footage from Shadowrun Returns showing off nearly 20 minutes of gameplay, including party-based combat, enemies and the cover system.
