Fantasy World Dizzy as an extended 2023 edition for the ZX Spectrum!

We've just come across another great news story especially if you have a ZX Spectrum, as we've been told through our Dizzy RetroGaming Facebook group and by Saberman, that the classic game of 'Fantasy World Dizzy', which was released back in the 1980's, has been re-released as an extended edition. A new Autumn edition of the game which doesn't just feature fixed graphics, but improved colouring of the forest and so so much more. To coincide with this news story, Saberman has also done a video of the game in action.

Dizzy - The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure on the ZX Spectrum gets an extended edition special!

Great news Dizzy fans as we've just been informed via Saberman that you can now download the Extended Edition of the classic game ' Dizzy - The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure ' for the ZX Spectrum. This game released way back in 1987 as a personal favorite of mine on the Amstrad, is an Adventure game in which you play as Dizzy, and must defeat the evil wizard Zaks with a Cauldron mix of a Leprechaun's Wig, a Cloud's Silver Lining, a Vampire Dux Feather, and a Troll Brew!

Dizzy - The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure is getting a "better" version!

We have done a History lesson on this game before via Indie Retro News, but to get you up to date on this original title. Dizzy began his little life in 1987 with the hit game "The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure". It was a game that came with some damn fine game play and for my age creepy enemies! I remember the spiders dropping from the Tree's, the Bats and the underground theme which made it ever more creepy if being played on a green screen Amstrad.

Wonderful Dizzy - Florinthedwarf takes a full in-depth look at this new Dizzy ZX Spectrum game!

It's been a long wait, but he's finally here! It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

He's been in eggs-ile for quite some time but now, finally, FINALLY he's back! It's a brand new adventure, new story, new eggs, new characters and a cute little fluffle has been thrown back in too. (Not enough Pogie in this world if you ask me). He's also back in wonderful world of 8-bit, full of glorious Spectrum colour and a quite stunning looking (and sounding) world for us to enjoy, explore and get us grinning again. Just what the world needs now if you ask me!

Wonderful Dizzy - Could this be the best Dizzy game yet for the ZX Spectrum?

I am a huge Dizzy fan, I have pretty much every Dizzy game in my collection and have always tried to feature the latest Dizzy games from fan based games to those found and released by The Oliver Twins. Thankfully for those who like Dizzy ( I know some who hate it ), will be overjoyed to learn that as of today, you can download the latest release in the Dizzy line up as Wonderful Dizzy; An eagerly awaited adventure platformer, as the first completely new Dizzy adventure game from the Oliver Twins in 26 years for the ZX Spectrum.

Wonderful Dizzy - A new Dizzy ZX adventure from the Oliver Twins is coming Friday 18th!

Well after Florinthedwarf's big exclusive preview that he did only recently with high praise indeed, we are pleased to announce that as of the 18th of December, you can play the latest release in the Dizzy line up as Wonderful Dizzy; The first completely new Dizzy adventure game from the Oliver Twins in 26 years for the ZX Spectrum.

Wonderful Dizzy - An exclusive ZX Spectrum preview from Florinthedwarf

A new Dizzy game? That's 'wonderful' news!

Dizzy is back! Well almost, and he's almost back in 8-bit form and a format he is very familiar with - the ZX Spectrum. The last official Spectrum release for everyone's favorite egg was way back in 1992 in Crystal Kingdom Dizzy. A remake followed 25 years later which was released in 2017. As great as it was, a completely new game is what fans have been waiting for. As far as waits go, 28 years is a pretty long one so it's about time we got one, right? Well, that long long wait is nearly over, my excellent friends! I'm not one to make lots of easy egg jokes (honest) so don't expect to read any is this preview, ok?

Mystery World Dizzy - The Oliver Twins latest NES announcement gets a full review

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that if you’re reading Indie Retro News, you’re well aware that 8-bit megastar Dizzy has just turned the big 30, so rather than teach granny to, um... never mind, let’s just have a look at the new game shall we? Well, I say new, but in actual fact Mystery World Dizzy was supposed to have been released on the NES way back when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was just a mediocre teen movie, but instead those shrewd Oliver Twins decided it would be better to hide it in a desk drawer until the future came, and release it to hungry fans once 8-bit was cool again. Probably.

Book review: Let's go Dizzy - The Story of The Oliver Twins

Something which is proving popular with retro gamers in recent years are the hardback books featuring a past gaming theme, popular genre or famous developer, and one of the best released in late 2016 was Let's Go Dizzy!
