Dreamworld Pogie - A 'new' old game by The Oliver Twins gets a Kickstarter
Well this news came as a complete surprise to us, as once again The Oliver Twins has found a game in their rather large and mysterious attic, Dreamworld Pogie. Now many of you may remember Wonderland Dizzy being found as a source code and graphics on a once long lost floppy disk, that needed a ton of work to get it to a final state. But I bet you haven't heard of Dreamworld Pogie! That's because this lovable looking arcade platformer was going to be another side step away from the Dizzy franchise and was due to be released on the NES, but sadly never happened at least until now.

Last year I gave you the heads up for a new work in progress port of the classic The Oliver Twins game ' Treasure Island Dizzy ', which is coming to the Sam Coupe. Currently in development by Adrian Brown, this version is being reverse engineered from the Amiga with inclusive graphics and maps that have been extracted into the Sam Coupe system. As of today the developer has released an updated work in progress footage which shows improvements over the Amiga version including scrolls that unroll and roll up like the ZX Spectrum and something else was also added which you need to see for yourself.

Treasure Island Dizzy - Gets a Sam Coupe WIP version and it's impressive!
From when I was a youngster I have always been a Dizzy fan, I loved everything about the games with every single adventure that little egg has been in. I spent so many hours playing them that it was just so much fun collecting items, talking to the Yolkfolk Villagers, solving puzzles and trying not to die. About the only disappointment I had this year was with The Oliver Twins and Yolkfolk (Fan based Dizzy games) who I have supported for all these years, who didn't even give us a mention for the first newly announced Wonderland Dizzy article ( yes I nearly gave up on Dizzy, I felt so strongly! ). But what brought me back into it apart from other Dizzy gamers, was Adrian Brown's newly announced ' Treasure Island Dizzy ' for the Sam Coupe

Could The Oliver Twins be making a new Dizzy game?
As you well know I and many others are huge fans of the Dizzy series. A famous egg going way back to the 80's, who went on grand adventures, talking to the YolkFolk, solving puzzles and most of the time having a really bad experience with the evil Wizard Zaks. A character designed by the legendary 'Oliver Twins' that has gained such devoted fans, we've seen countless remakes and Dizzy fan games from a multitude of home based developers. Even though we've played all the games such as Dizzy, Treasure Island Dizzy and the others, we were very disappointed to hear of the failure of the Dizzy Kickstarter, which looked like it was to be the most incredible looking Dizzy yet! But all is not lost, as over these past few weeks, it looks as if The Oliver Twins have been hinting of a new Dizzy game!

My journey of a retro collection - Part 1 (Amstrad/C64)
Some time back now I did a big retro collection article which featured the Amiga and the Amstrad CPC 6128. Although I felt it was an impressive collection to show off, it was nothing compared to what I'm about to show you today. After a recent chat with ManCrates, in a reflection of my early years and to reminisce about the items which made my generation better than the rest. I decided to get my act together and to write up a two part series of my generation and what made that era so good for me.

Amazing Dizzy artwork from Pit!
I'm am probably one of the biggest fans of the 1980's character 'Dizzy' by The Oliver Twins. I have countless collectables ranging from posters to tapes and even the latest Dizzy badges. I even run a Facebook group called Dizzy RetroGaming that has many members from around the world who also love that little white egg. So I was amazed today when Adam Markey of YolkFolk posted in our Dizzy community of some beautiful artwork by Pit, a very talented artist who I would class as the best for creating Dizzy images.
Daisy Wants Flowers - New Dizzy fan game from Steve Rennie
It's a Dizzy Sunday as not one but two DizzyAge developed fan games have now surfaced for your retro enjoyment. The first of today's releases is 'Daisy Wants Flowers' by Steve Rennie, which stars Dizzy on another adventure to find some flowers for Daisy. It's not the highest quality fan game we've seen, but does as usual, star our Dizzy hero as he needs to pick up items and solve puzzles along the way.
