We've just come across a great news story especially if you have a ZX Spectrum, as we've been told through our Dizzy RetroGaming Facebook group and through Twitter, that the classic game of 'Treasure Island Dizzy', which was released back in the 1980's, has been re-released as an Extended Edition. As in the words of The Dizzy Fansite "Dr. Titus previously brought us an Extended Edition of Dizzy TUCA in 2021, and now its Treasure Island's turn for the Spectrum! Bug fixes, new locations, lives, plus more...".

Fantastic Dizzy - Sega Mega Drive/Genesis game Prototype discovered
Ever since I had an Amstrad CPC 464 and then on to an Amiga, I have always been a massive Dizzy fan, playing pretty much every Dizzy game ever released since 1987 by the famous Oliver Twins with a huge collection gathering in my cupboard. One such Dizzy game I remember so well was Fantastic Dizzy, which appeared on the Amiga, Game Gear, NES, Sega Mega Drive and even via your browser thanks to our good friends the YolkFolk! So why are we mentioning this game you might ask? Well thanks to a heads up by our YolkFolk friends, they have mentioned a Sega MegaDrive and Genesis prototype that has been discovered of that very game!
Log Cabin Dizzy (ZX Spectrum Edition) - ZX Spectrum remake of Jamie Douglas's PC version
If you are a fan of the Dizzy games by the Oliver Twins or want a fun little adventure to play, then come and check out Verm-V's new Dizzy game called ' Log Cabin Dizzy (ZX Spectrum Edition)', which was released over the Christmas period for the ZX Spectrum. This game with music by MmcM, title screen by Andy Green and HUD graphics by VK007, is a remake of a game by Jamie Douglas that not only had the same name but was released for the PC back in 2011.
Mystery World Dizzy - The Oliver Twins latest NES announcement gets a full review
I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that if you’re reading Indie Retro News, you’re well aware that 8-bit megastar Dizzy has just turned the big 30, so rather than teach granny to, um... never mind, let’s just have a look at the new game shall we? Well, I say new, but in actual fact Mystery World Dizzy was supposed to have been released on the NES way back when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was just a mediocre teen movie, but instead those shrewd Oliver Twins decided it would be better to hide it in a desk drawer until the future came, and release it to hungry fans once 8-bit was cool again. Probably.
Dizzy X - Journey to Russia - A very Dizzy AGE remake is now available to play!
Oh joy of joys guess who's back? It's that lovable character Dizzy, who's once again staring in his very own story for kids and adults to enjoy from around the world, and not just in Russia. This is Dizzy X - Journey To Russia, a brand new fan remake by VK007 of the rather unknown ZX Spectrum of the same name originally developed by Sergey Gorshkov in 1994, and part of a long list of unofficial Russian Dizzy games such as Dizzy Y: Return to Russia; Dizzy 8' Dizzy 'A'; Dizzy 'B'; and Drunk Dizzy.
Dizzy XII - Dizzy Underground gets a DizzyAGE Remake
In 2001 Gogin from Russia released the Dizzy fan game 'Dizzy XII: Underground' for the ZX Spectrum. Yet fast forward to this year and a PC DizzyAGE remake has appeared by VK007 and again stars that lovable egg who has got himself into a bit of bother. He's landed his rocket onto a strange new world and as always has to help out the Yolkfolk.
Fantasy World Daisy - The original Dizzy game but with a female twist!
Oh no, Dizzy has had a sex change! Well not quite, as this is "Fantasy World Daisy" by Steve Rennie (Grandad) ; a character change over from Fantasy World Dizzy, in which you play as Daisy instead of Dizzy and must rescue Dizzy from the evil King Troll instead of Daisy! Originally Fantasy World Dizzy, was released way back in 1989 by The Oliver Twins and released on multiple systems such as the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Enterprise 64/128, Amiga, Atari ST and DOS.

Good morning you fine fellows, it's a new a week so what better way to start it off than playing a brand new Dizzy fan game for the PC from Adam Markey (Adz.M), titled ' Dizzy and Seymour - The Dark Wizard '. A rather special release indeed, as this is the first fan game to be made in widescreen, and giving you the ability to play as either the classic Yolkfolk egg ' Dizzy ' or the real world spin off character Seymour. Two classic characters that were a joy to play in their own adventures, way back in the 80's!
Adventureland Dizzy - Behold gamers, a BIG Dizzy game has appeared!
Although I had gone off Dizzy for a bit due to some issues with us and the Wonderland Dizzy announcement, basically no feedback from The Oliver Twins. I was overjoyed to hear from JDC Studios of a brand new Dizzy fan game, that has only just been released. From the creator of Dizzy in the Dungeons and Dizzy Quest, comes a rather large dizzy game called ' Adventureland Dizzy ' which has 110 Screens to explore, puzzles to solve , 30 golden stars to find and graphics taken from classics such as Magicland Dizzy, Fantastic Dizzy and Spellbound Dizzy.

Christmas Chaos Dizzy - Dizzy and his pals feeling very festive!
A very Christmas release today, even though it's not Christmas, as Adam Markey (Adz.M) has released his very latest festive Dizzy game ' Christmas Chaos Dizzy '. A fan based Dizzy release featuring many of the Yolkfolk villagers in the Kingdom of Zakeria. You once again play as Dizzy on another adventure, and with the lands covered in snow you decide to do some exploring. But little does he know that his exploration soon leads to a series of tasks with characters to talk to, puzzles to solve, and nasty things to avoid such as rodents and traps.
Could The Oliver Twins be making a new Dizzy game?
As you well know I and many others are huge fans of the Dizzy series. A famous egg going way back to the 80's, who went on grand adventures, talking to the YolkFolk, solving puzzles and most of the time having a really bad experience with the evil Wizard Zaks. A character designed by the legendary 'Oliver Twins' that has gained such devoted fans, we've seen countless remakes and Dizzy fan games from a multitude of home based developers. Even though we've played all the games such as Dizzy, Treasure Island Dizzy and the others, we were very disappointed to hear of the failure of the Dizzy Kickstarter, which looked like it was to be the most incredible looking Dizzy yet! But all is not lost, as over these past few weeks, it looks as if The Oliver Twins have been hinting of a new Dizzy game!

So here we go with the winners list!
More incredible Dizzy artwork from PIT
Who doesn't love that lovable little egg of Dizzy? He's always on a fantastic adventure solving many puzzles while trying to avoid having his egg cracked by the evil Wizard Zaks. So it comes as no surprise to us that there are many fans out there who like to imagine him on another quest, but rather through a game is done with artwork. And when it comes to artwork our favourite artist just has to be Pit, who we've featured before has once again pushed his skills to the limit and done more highly detailed cartoon like drawings, that earns it's place on our site.

Developed by trz & Dr. Titus and available in English and Russian, the detail is of very high standard, with a great intro tune and sound affects that might just give you the goosebumps.
