Another retro gaming news story has hit our inbox, as Tom was kind enough to let us know through Facebook, that if you're looking for a star wars game with plenty of action for your ZX Spectrum, then you might like to play Mananuk's new game of ' The Mandarin 2 '; A game which features 5 levels of varying themes such as General Limoncello´s base, self-destruct activated, outer space and Limoncello's ship. THE CULT - A creepy horror game for the Amstrad CPC and updated for the ZX Spectrum!
If you're looking for a new horror to play over the weekend, then we have just been told by Saberman, that if you head on over to the link below, you can play Tartessos Games latest Amstrad CPC and updated ZX Spectrum game of 'THE CULT. A new game in which you must avoid deadly horrors and uncover the secrets in a silent village that pulses with terror. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also done a video showing the Amstrad version in action.
SERAPHIMA - An impressive looking game for the ZX Spectrum by Zosya Entertainment gets a final version!
ZOSYA entertainment have made some incredible games over the years, with games such as Drift! and Valley of Rains. Well it looks as if they haven't finished with the speccy community just yet. As thanks to another heads up by Saberman, we've been told they've also released the final version of their high quality speccy game called 'SERAPHIMA'. A game in which one user has said "Wow, just love that massive sprite/single sprite collection, incredibly well done! I wish more games had done similar, just looks so impressive... this is great."
Fantasy World Dizzy as an extended 2023 edition for the ZX Spectrum!
We've just come across another great news story especially if you have a ZX Spectrum, as we've been told through our Dizzy RetroGaming Facebook group and by Saberman, that the classic game of 'Fantasy World Dizzy', which was released back in the 1980's, has been re-released as an extended edition. A new Autumn edition of the game which doesn't just feature fixed graphics, but improved colouring of the forest and so so much more. To coincide with this news story, Saberman has also done a video of the game in action.
Tuerkas The White Cat - Play as a Cat in this new ZX Spectrum 48k game from Retrobensoft
Another game news story has been sent to us, as we've recently been informed through Facebook, that if you're looking for a family friendly game to play on your ZX Spectrum, then make sure to check out Retrobensoft's latest 8bit release of 'Tuerkas The White Cat'; a game in which you play as a Cat on a personal quest to find 8 fish with the highest levels of contamination. To coincide with this news, as ever Saberman has also done a video showing the game being played.

JET SBOT - Another 8bit game appears, and this time for the ZX Spectrum!
If you have a ZX Spectrum and looking for an enjoyable game to play on this rather wet Sunday, then make sure to check out Xavisan's latest speccy creation of 'JET SBOT': A game that is not just an inspiration to a classic released by Ultimate Play the Game, but also a very enjoyable action platformer as you must protect the planet Earth from disaster. Transylvanian Castle Dx2 - A cool little RPG for the ZX Spectrum 48/128k by Fitosoft
Not satisfied with the amount of games mentioned and think more are needed? Then how about this latest game from Fitosoft, it's 'Transylvanian Castle Dx2' for the ZX Spectrum 48 and 128k. A game in which the creator has said " Is an RPG that is very easy to use, intuitive and can be played by both novices and experienced adventurers with very direct gameplay". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video showing the character battling enemies such as Werewolves, Mummy's and even Frankenstein himself!
RETCON GHOSTLY CAPERS - A great game by Lee Chops Stevenson and team is available for the ZX Spectrum
Halloween is fast approaching as more and more creepy games with pumpkins, ghouls and ghosts will start to appear on Indie Retro News for your horror enjoyment. One such game that has been recently released via itch io that fits the horror theme, is MICROCHOPS arcade platformer of 'RETCON GHOSTLY CAPERS' for the ZX Spectrum. A game in which you must dodge the ghosts' devilish traps, find all the hidden items, retrieve the gate key and open everything up before everyone arrives at Super Hero Steve's Retro Convention!
DOOM on the ZX Spectrum 128k by Digital Reality ( tzx version recovered )
Doom was never officially released on the ZX Spectrum , nor was it released on any other system of that time. Doom was just way beyond in computer development, but now you can play it in very retro style, thanks to Digital Reality. This looks as if it was officially released on the ZX in all it's first person goodness, as it's a damn fine Remake indeed. But don't get too excited, as although you can play the game, it still believed to be just a Demo and you'll most likely need an emulator or a real 128k speccy too.
Tenebra 2 - An enjoyable game by Haplo arrives on the MSX/ZX Spectrum
We've recently been contacted by Saberman in our inbox, that the atmospheric game of Tenebra 2 by Haplo, which was originally released for the C64, Plus/4, and then the Commodore Amiga , has now got an official MSX and ZX Spectrum sequel of 'Tenebra 2'. As in the words of the creator "This is a direct sequel to my popular game Tenebra, with many exciting new game play elements, including a portal gun!". Stinger - The eighth home-brew game by Fabrizio Caruso for all 8bit systems?
If you have an Amstrad CPC, C16, C64 or any of the other systems listed via the main page then this news is going to surprise you, as trawling through the Plus/4 world Facebook page, we've found out that Fabrizio Caruso has released his multi-system arcade blaster of 'Stinger'. As in the words of the developer, Stinger is a shooter with power-ups, 6 different levels, 5 different enemies, and several items to pick up. To coincide with this news, as ever we have some footage of the game being played below.
Haoken - Another cool ZX Spectrum game from Hicks!
It's another Hicks game for today's retro gaming news story, as thanks to Saberman contacting us through Facebook, he has told us that Hicks has released a new game for the ZX Spectrum called 'Haoken': An action platformer in which you need work your way through dangerous levels to defeat the Ony Anthrax. PENGOMini - A fun for all the family Arcade game for the ZX Spectrum
Gabriele Amore is certainly no stranger to Indie Retro News, announcing highly enjoyable games such as Saving Kong, Castle Capers, Donkey Kong Jr and even our personal favourite Bubble Frenzy. Well now another game is gracing our speccy screens, as during the last couple of days Gab has released the new Arcade game of 'PENGOMini '; A game that isn't just an arcade game inspired by Pengo, but it's also a Mini version of the previous game Gabriele Amore released which was called Frantic Pengo 2.
ZX Bomb Sweeper - Another Game & Watch title arrives on the ZX Spectrum!
Another day and another Game and Watch mention, as the previous one was called 'Octopus Deluxe' which was ported over to the Amstrad CPC 6128, and this latest release called 'ZX Bomb Sweeper' has been developed for the ZX Spectrum. Now unlike the other game developed by Team Galaxy as a port of a 1981 title, Bomb Sweeper was a game originally released in 1987 and has been converted over to the ZX Spectrum by Menyiques.
Down The Pipe Reflushed - Guide young Turdesley in this updated ZX Spectrum game by DF Design
Another retro gaming news story has reached our inbox, as we've just come across a new game update for the ZX Spectrum called Down The Pipe Reflushed by DF Design with publishing by Phoenixware called 'Down The Pipe Reflushed'. A game in which playing as the young Turdesley, you must traverse down ‘Pipe Central’, ‘Skull City’ and ‘The Kingdom of Mighty Two’ ,while dodging and shooting all manner of strange nasties with his trusty condo-cannon.
Exo-Tical - A new ZX Spectrum game by Roolandoo that's well worth a play!
Over the years we've featured a number of enjoyable games from Roolandoo, with games being mentioned such as S.O.L.O, La Reliquia and our personal favourite of Bufonada. Well here we are with another great looking game that's well worth a play at home on your speccy, and it's Roolandoo's newest of ZX Spectrum creations called ' Exo-Tical : An exploration and Action Space Adventure that you can see being played in this latest footage provided by our good friend Saberman.
CrazyForest - A rather challenging Arcade game released for the ZX Spectrum by Daniel Isoba
We've been flooded with awesome news this week, from Forest of Illusion for the Commodore Amiga, to the overhauled Mario Bros on the Amstrad and Mickey and Donald G&W for the 48k. Well once again we are going back to the ZX Spectrum for some more gaming news, as thanks to Saberman contacting us recently, he has told us that Daniel Isoba has made available the arcade platformer of 'Crazy Forest'; A new game for the ZX Spectrum which is sure to keep you busy with lots of themed levels.
Batmanolo Against The Mutant Attack To Weepingtown - A new ZX Spectrum 48k game from Nahell Tresal
If you're looking for a new game to play on your speccy, then we have just been told by Saberman, that you can now play Nahell Tresals latest ZX Spectrum 48k game of 'Batmanolo Against The Mutant Attack To Weepingtown'. A new game in which playing as Batmanolo, must stop the evil Doctor Jose Antonio Malvado from turning all the citizens of WeepingTown into mutants. Mickey and Donald G&W for the ZX Spectrum 48k
The 1980's Game and Watch Handheld throw backs just keep on coming, especially with a multitude of games released harking back to that great era with games such as Donkey Kong Jr Game and Watch, Parachute, Fire, Baby Monkey Alba, and yes even Hayesmaker's rather cool Mario's Cement Factory for the C64! Well todays news is pretty special for the ZX Spectrum 48k community, as thanks to yet another heads up by Saberman, he has told us that Menyiques has released the Game & Watch game of Mickey and Donald: A Multi Screen Game & Watch video game originally released in 1982 by Nintendo.
