Okinawa Rush - A seriously cool Beat Em Up/Platformer is coming to GOG/Steam OCT 21st + Demo

Move over Way of the Exploding Fist as a new game is fighting to take your belt. Titled as Okinawa Rush and developed by David Miller, Steve Miller and Gary Angelone, this is a seriously cool ninja beat em up based platformer, that is in development for PC(Windows) with a release due Oct 21st. In this game you play as the experienced martial artist Hiro Yashima, who has honed his skills to a supernatural level. But after coming across his murdered wife, and kidnapped children by the evil ninja's known as the Black Mantis clan who were looking for the legendary training scroll, he must find them and seek vengeance!

Huntdown - A kick ass shooter by Easy Trigger Games appears on GOG and Steam

Ghost of a Tale - A beautiful action RPG featuring a cute mouse, now on GOG/Steam!

Something for everyone this week for both retrogamers and indie gamers alike, as now we look towards SeithCG's beautiful action RPG 'Ghost of a Tale', which has since been released on both GOG and Steam for PC. Starring a cute little mouse minstrel called Tilo, you must set out on a perilous adventure through a medieval world populated only by animals where dangers and quests await!

FAITH - Prepare for old school horror, inspired by retro classics.

Airdorf are hoping to scare the hell out of you with their latest game 'FAITH', as it is created in an usual pixel art style to that of old classics such as the Apple II, but with a taste of horror such as Exorcism and even my personal favourite on the Amstrad, Friday the 13th. Currently as a pay what you want, this game is short at only 1-2 hours of play time but promises to be not lacking in atmosphere, creepiness or the stuff of nightmares!

Furwind - Play as a strong little fox in Boomfire Games pixelated platformer!

Something for everyone today both young and old as now we look towards Boomfire Games in-development pixelated platformer ' Furwind ', which was not only a Steam Greenlight success some time ago, but the developers have released an updated demo for you to enjoy! This game with a colourful art style and charming little fox gameplay, takes place in a magical world inhabited by intelligent animals and puts you in control of the hero Furwind, chosen to restore balance to the world!

Armed with Wings: Rearmed - Stylish hack 'n slasher platformer is coming June 1st!

Take a pinch of the latest Japanese animation with spectacular Ninja/Samurai moves and blend it with a dark and dilapidated world and you'll most likely have 'Armed with Wings Rearmed'; a 2D action hack 'n slash platformer developed by Sun-Studios that will soon be exiting Steam Early Access and launching officially on June 1st 2017 for Windows. Control a capable hero and a cunning eagle to save the world from darkness, travel through various lands and underground passageways that challenge the player's ability to solve puzzles, engage enemies and platforms.

Kynseed - 2D sandbox adventure from ex-Lionhead Fable devs gets a Kickstarter

The very latest heads up by our good friend Sabin1981, is the launched Kickstarter for ' Kynseed ' which is being developed by a couple of ex-Lionhead Fable devs 'PixelCount Studios', and is available to download as a very early prototype for the PC. Classed as a 2D sandbox adventure with RPG elements, this in development game is an all-new quirky RPG filled to the brim with mystery, exploration, awful puns, and sandbox possibilities that aims to invoke the spirit of past Fable games.

After Touch Soccer - A Kick Off fan remake

There are a few games from the days of Amiga and ST that really stood out. What we'd now call Killer Apps. For many Shadow of the beast is what sold Amigas. Something to put on in a shop window or show your mates when they came round. A beautiful yet flawed game. but for social gaming, the one EVERYONE had be it legit or copied, was Kick off (and later, KO2.) Even if you had no love for real world footie, Kick Off had universal appeal. It was 16-bit's killer app. So it's no surprise that someone would make a fan remake of it today. Cyber Shadow - In development retro styled platformer with a hint of Ninja Gaiden

Alepos Arkoudis‎ recently contacted us via our Facebook page of a new NES style platformer that is in development for both PC and MAC by MekaSkull and Pentadrangle. Titled as ' Cyber Shadow ', this game mixes the best bits of Metroid, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden and Megaman and puts you in control of a mighty warrior slashing your way through the armies of mechanical fiends to free your clan and discover what's happened during your rather long hibernation.

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs - Kickstarter Alumni goes for greenlight and imminent release

Back in the '80s there were a plethora of Japanese anime kids TV shows translated for English markets and while there's still one knocking around my head that I can't for the life of me remember the name of, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs comes awfully close in look and feel... or maybe it's because they all did! Back in October '15, there was a successful kickstarter campaign to bring this IP to modern gaming platforms (as well as PC Engine/TG-16 and Dreamcast) and finally Team Saber Rider are getting close to delivering, with a drive to get the game greenlit on Steam.

Feral - Hunt and survive with mighty claws! (+Demo)

Are you getting hungry and feel like getting your claws into something meaty, then come and check out this rather short but impressive first person hunting game known as ' Feral '. Developed by a team of 7 Supinfogame students during one year as a graduation project, you play as a mighty hunting animal and must hunt and survive through a first person view point in a beautiful but hostile environment. Feral is available as a demo for PC, and does require an XBOX controller to play.

LIMBO C64 - Modern Indie game as a proof of concept on the C64

If you were a fan of the game Limbo with its dark backgrounds and horror overtone, then as a retro gamer you might be surprised to learn of a Limbo C64 proof of concept that has been shown today thanks to a creator by the name of Søren Trautner Madsen. Apparently Playdead have given him the blessing as they have allowed him to port LIMBO to the C64. To coincide with this eye opening news, a video footage of the project has been shown as a proof of concept for the graphics and basic boy controls.

Streets of Rogue - Multichoice battling roguelike is rather cool!

Today we are turning our attention to some fine looking indie games, and one of them which caught our eye was Madguy's action packed roguelike ' Streets of Rogue ' which so far is free for the PC. If you loved games such as Binding of Isaac but with more exploration, experimentation and choice based mission goals, then this chaotic romp may just be the game for you.

Desync – Neon FPS Arena game prepares for steam launch

Developers The Foregone Syndicate seem to be gearing up for a release of their upcoming title Desync. Currently in closed beta, with a projected release of simply 2016, Desync looks much more than a glowy Quake 3 Arena. Desync is more than just Pick-a-weapon-and-shoot- the-other-guy focusing on creative attack sequences to magnify your kill score.

ICS 2 - Unforgiving browser based platformer gets a sequel

Good afternoon gamers, it's another day of news articles and to begin with we have ' ICS 2 ' developed by Miroko, that you may want to try if you like difficult platformers. In this browser based game you must traverse each level to reach the exit, but unlike the typical traps and check points that most games feature, this one has an unusual game element which adds to the playability of the game.

Cave Story successor " One Dog Story " coming to Kickstarter Jan 13th!

In 2004 Studio Pixel released the incredible adventure platformer game of ' Cave Story ' for the PC. With later versions from 2010 onwards as Cave Story+ and Cave Story 3D coming to Nintendo based handhelds such as the 3DS.  It received critical acclaim for its great story and gameplay and featured 2D platform mechanics and is reminiscent to classic games such as Metroid. It was and still is a worthy game to have your in collection, but the news of today comes direct from BigWay Games Studio as they will be launching their Kickstarter on January 13th for the Cave Story successor of ' One Dog Story '.
