GothicVania - A rather impressive Castlevania inspired Tech Demo for the Amiga

Here on Indie Retro News we've been flooded with new Amiga game updates, as we've had Creeping Me Out Hex Night, Spy Hunter, Monkey Lad, Contra, Hunting Frogs and even Farmiga, Well here we are with yet ANOTHER Amiga news story, as Saberman was kind enough to let us know earlier today, that he has done a new video of the rather lovely looking Castlevania inspired Tech Demo of 'GothicVania'; A tech demo which has been created using Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine.

Creeping Me Out Hex Night - A charming Amiga platformer by Mixel gets a new weaponry tease

If you love Platformers then you might like this latest news update! As if you've been following all the developments regarding Mixel's upcoming Amiga platformer of 'Creeping Me Out : Hex Night. A Scorpion Engine created Action/Adventure/Platformer that doesn't just feature complex levels, but a story, enemies, big bosses and dangerous traps. You'll be pleased to know that as of today the creator has shown off some footage of the game with a glimpse at the work in progress weapons.

1980's "Spy Hunter' is coming to the Amiga and it looks great!

If you remember the 1983 game of 'Spy Hunter'; An Arcade top down Action vehicle game that drew its inspiration from James Bond and was released on the Amstrad CPC, Atari 2600, Atari 8-bit, BBC Micro, ZX Spectrum, C64, Apple II, ColecoVision, IBM PC and NES. Then you might like this latest news story sent to us by Saberman. As we have just been told that the eab member known as flibble42, is working on an Arcade like version of Spy Hunter; a game which is in development for the Commodore Amiga using Earok's Scorpion Engine!

Monkey Lad - An Alex Kidd inspiration on the Commodore Amiga is still in development

In 1987 Sega released the great side-scrolling platform game ' Alex Kidd ' for the Sega Master System console. Although it was first released in Japan in 1986 but internationally in 1987, it was one of the most well known games as it was also built into most Master System II's! For anyone that has played the rather enjoyable original, will be pleased to know that not only can you try the latest demo for the work in progress Alex Kidd inspiration for the Amiga called 'Monkey Lad' by Earok. But Saberman has also done a gameplay video viewable below.

Could Konami's hit game of Contra be coming to the Amiga via Neeso Games?

From 1987 onwards Konami published the mighty game of Contra, which was also known as Gryzor on many home computer systems such as the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64. It is regarded as one of the best run and gun action games ever created and is also highly regarded on the CPC. So for any of you that remember the game, we've just been given a poke via twitter, that Neeso Games who is also behind the brilliant Super Delivery Boy, looks to be working on a Contra game but for the Amiga!

Hunting Frogs - An Amiga game that the little ones would enjoy!

An early morning heads up from Per Ola Eriksson, as he has recently contacted us, to let us know that Christian has released the 1-4 family friendly game of 'Hunting Frogs'; A game in which playing as a frog, you must eat all the bugs to feed your appetite. To coincide with this news not only is the game available to download below, but Per Ola has also done a gameplay video for you to view before you play.

Black Sea - A cool Amstrad, MSX and ZX Spectrum game by Mananuk arrives on the Gameboy Advanced

Black Sea is getting another feature on Indie Retro News, as looking through itch io, we have found out that the fun for all the family Arcade game of 'Black Sea', has arrived on the Gameboy Advanced. Now if you've not seen this game before as you don't have an Amstrad, MSX or ZX Spectrum, which the game previously released on. Then this is a new game in which you play as Submarine Captain Robinson on a quest deep into the Black Sea to search for treasures and discover all the secrets that those waters hold.

Farmiga - A work in progress farming simulator for the Amiga by Tukinem gets a beta

If you're looking for a peaceful life without blasting away waves of enemies or thinking how to solve that next puzzle to advance, then you might like this latest Amiga news story that's just been sent to us by Saberman. As the polish developer of Tukinem, has released a big beta update to his in development Farming simulator for the Amiga called 'Farmiga'. To coincide with this news story not only can you view the latest footage of the game below, but we can tell you the game has improved a lot since its earlier showing!

Scorch - A Scorched Earth clone gets another preview for the Atari XL/XE

This game might not look like much, with its bare backgrounds and tiny coloured objects, but this is actually a NEW preview Atari XL/XE release, that comes across very much like Scorched Tanks on the Amiga and the MS-DOS game Scorched Earth. Developed by pirx and as a multiplayer game with up to 6 players so far and a huge list of changes listed below. Your ultimate goal is to wipe out your opponent by working out the correct trajectory that your Baby Missile flies through the air and hits dead on target!

Bufonada - An atmospheric ZX Spectrum game by Roolandoo has now been released

We've featured a number of enjoyable games from Roolandoo, with games being mentioned such as S.O.L.O, Lareliquia and even La Reliquia. Well here we are with another game announcement from Roolandoo, as he has finally released the eagerly awaited ZX Spectrum game of 'Bufonada'; A rather atmospheric game where you play as a useless jester and a half-crazy magic goat. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a brand new gameplay video!

Sir Arthur - A brilliant PETSCII preview of Ghosts 'n Goblins for the C64

Way back in 1985 Capcom released the start of one of the greatest side scrolling platform game series we have ever known. It featured a knight, creepy enemies, lots of graves and was extremely difficult to the point of frustration. The game I am talking about is of course ' Ghosts 'N Goblins ', the first game in the Ghosts 'n Goblins franchise which appeared on many different systems such as the Amstrad, C64 and even the ZX Spectrum. So for those of you who remember playing the game, may interested to know that we have just found out that Honcho, Nordischsound and Shine is working on a Ghosts 'N Goblins game for the C64 made in PETSCII called 'Sir Arthur'.

Delve!: The Goblin's Grotto - A Petscii Dungeon Crawler for the C64 that's rather enjoyable!

Something slightly different for this weekend retro heads up, as if you are a huge fan of Dungeon Crawlers, especially games such as Eye of the Beholder or Lands of Lore. Then you may be interested to know that Ant Stiller and Cal Skuthorpe has released the brand new PETSCII Dungeon Crawler of ' Delve! - The Goblin's Grotto' for the C64; A RESET64 4kb 2022 competition entry as a procedurally-generated action rogue-like with a tiny smattering of Eye of the Beholder. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a video of the game viewable below.

Alwa's Awakening - A highly anticipated NES port has finally been released via Steam, GOG and itch io

We've recently been informed through Twitter, that Elden Pixels Battle of Olympus and Solstice retro inspired PC platformer of ' Alwa's Awakening '; a game which was released on Steam back in 2017, has finally been released as a fully fledged NES port through GOG, Steam and GOG. For those of you who don't remember this fine game, you play as Zoe, a heroine sent from another world to bring peace to the land of Alwa. You must use your magical staff against lots of strange creatures and big bosses through many different themed rooms.

Circles - An addictive Rhythm based 4kb game for the Commodore 64 by James

Today we've been swamped with news, and as I'm now overwhelmed and need a writers break, I thought it would be best to give a final shout out for this awesome yet simplistic little game called 'Circles' by James. What makes this game different from all the other ones we've featured this week, as in this game not only do you get swarmed by tiny dots, but as your fire power increases, so does the beat! Yes this game is a Rhythm based shooter and it's a lot of fun all squeezed into 4kb!

Bring back more bones 4k - A rather small yet unique Dungeon Crawler for the C64 by Commocore

Another heads up for you all fine folk, as if you're a fan of the Dungeon Crawler genre, with games such as Eye of the Beholder or Dungeon Master, then it might be worth your time checking out Commocore's latest release of Bring back more bones 4k; a rather quick and spontaneous sequel to the creators Bring back my bones 4k. A game which was originally created for Reset64 Craptastic 4k game competition and released today with an extra creature in the level that is the CEMETERY.
