It's been some time since we've featured a PC remake of a classic 8bit game, so to change all that, here's a rather special heads up for you all, it's Olli and Lissa - The Ghost of Shilmoore Castle by Space Time Games. A new game in which you must help Olli find the ingredients to the magic potion and save Shilmoore Castle. A remake of a ZX Spectrum budget title which was originally published in 1986 by Firebird, and appeared on other home computers such as the Amstrad CPC and C64. Dreadnought Assault - An awesome looking WIP scrolling shoot 'em up for the Atari 7800!
Not content with all the awesome news we've had so far this month, then how about this news update that's just been sent to us by our good friend Liqmatrix. It's the work in progress game of 'Dreadnought Assault' by kiwilove and playsoft. A rather awesome looking WIP scrolling shoot 'em up for the Atari 7800, which can be downloaded and played right now with new levels and graphical changes. To coincide with this news story, if you don't have an emulator installed or an Atari 7800 however, you could can at least check out some footage of this work in progress game below.
Elevator Action - JOTD's newest of Arcade to Amiga conversions has been released
An early morning heads up for you all, as we've just found out through Saberman that the previously teased Arcade to Amiga conversion of the 1980's Arcade game of Elevator Action by Taito Corp, has finally been released by JOTD through his itch io page. The same creator behind other awesome Arcade to Amiga conversions such as Donkey Kong, Galaga, Phoenix and Moon Patrol 500. Shadowmage - A new Amiga Dungeon Crawler which took 30 years to complete!
Another Commodore Amiga news story to keep you company, as Saberman was kind enough to inform us this evening, that quantumcodemonk has released the Amiga game of 'Shadowmage'. A Dungeon Crawler that was first coded back in 1994, but then the disks were lost, and development resumed (from memory) in 2020. To coincide with this news, we've got some more details about Shadowmage as well as footage of the game provided below.
Miracle Boy in Dragon Land - In development Atari ST game as an unofficial Wonder Boy sequel gets a special demo!
From the latest Arcade like experience of Wonder Boy on the Amiga, to the more modern spiritual successor of Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, this game series is certainly a fan favourite. Well here with another Wonder Boy story, as we have been informed that Sam Soft has released a very special demo for his unofficial Wonder Boy sequel for the Atari 520 ST called 'Miracle Boy in Dragon Land'. A game that can be seen in these images and video which have been provided by the creator and Saberman.
The Lost Pixel - A PC platformer from 2022 has arrived on the Commodore Amiga via Amiga Factory! (AGA)
Imagine if you could play a character throughout the history of gaming, instead of loading up Emulator after Emulator, that character could be played through all the historic levels, as if it were those good old days. Well you sort of can with this latest game from Amiga Factory! Welcome to The Lost Pixel; an addictive platformer, which in itself is a port of a PC game which was originally released in 2022 by bitmagine Studios. Do note the original developer has given full permission as such all the graphics and sprites have been converted by Amiga Factory from 16 million colours to 64.
Beyond Shadowgate - Never-before seen point and click adventure is brought to life after 30+ years in the vault
If you loved games such as Deju Vu, Uninvited or even my personal favorite Shadowgate, then you are going to love this news update! As trawling through both the GOG and Steam website, we have found out that Zojoi LLC together with GrahfMetal, has released the final version of the Kickstarter success of 'Beyond Shadowgate'. As in the words of the Steam page "The original design of the never-before seen point and click adventure is being brought to life after 30+ years in the vault - Beyond Shadowgate! This new PC game is being created by the designers of the original 8-bit hit Shadowgate and a leading 8-bit adventure studio!".
SUPERLEO - A family friendly endless runner game for the Amstrad CPC
I was a bit late with this news story considering it was first mentioned around 17 days ago, but if you haven't been following the Amstrad homebrew scene, then come and take a look at Pakal33's new(ish) Amstrad CPC game of 'SUPERLEO'. A family friendly endless runner game for the Amstrad CPC which was created using C and Assembler (with SDCC). To coincide with this late news, we've got two gameplay videos, one from Saberman and the other from Xenomorph.
Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged - An incredible Adventure game from 1996 with glorious 4K visuals and more!
Well this is amazing news, as if you were a huge fan of the Broken Sword games, more especially the Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, which is a graphic adventure developed by Revolution Software and published by Virgin Interactive back in 1996. Will pleased to know that this incredible game has been re-released as a Reforged edition through GOG and Steam. A new edition of the game which now features "glorious 4K visuals and iconic remastered audio, pitching intrepid American George Stobbart and fearless journalist Nico Collard into a journey of perilous adventures and ancient conspiracies".

While the last few years have seen a ton of new Amiga games released, few if any have come from established industry veterans that created games back in the 90's. But today news is pretty special for the Commodore Amiga, as long-time Amiga guru Adrian Cummings, creator of original titles such as Cyberpunks, Tin Toy, Doodlebug and many more. Has announced a video update, to what looks to be a high quality game coming to the Amiga AGA/CD32 called 'Dungeonette - The New Adventure'.
Hydrogenese - A game missing for 35 years appears as a preview for the Commodore 64!
Year after year we usually go on about the latest games and unreleased titles seeing the light of day for the very first time, well here are with another unreleased game for you to play test, as thanks to our good friends GamesThatWeren't, you too can try out a preview download of the unreleased game of 'Hydrogenese'. A game that was not only developed by X-Ample, who produced lots of demos and games going back as far as 1988(?). But GTW are quoted as saying for Hydrogenese " this is a brilliant and early look at what could have been an amazing space shooter!".
Midnight Streets - A new Arcade Platformer available for the Amstrad CPC by Cyrille Ayor61 and team
Thanks to another double heads up from Youtubbers Saberman and Xenomporph, they have told us that Mr Lou, Cyrille Ayor61 (GGP), S_A GGP, Manshovel and Maitrejoe GGP have released the Arcade Platformer of Midnight Streets for the Amstrad CPC. A game in which you must fight a seedy gang to rescue your girlfriend Sandy who has been taken captive. To coincide with this news, we've got a bit more about the game as well as two gameplay videos.
Xenon 2 Megablast - Manic retro shoot 'em up could be getting a 50fps AGA Amiga edition via mcgeezer!
For those of you who played the shoot em up of Xenon 2 - Megablast on the Amiga in the year of 1989. A game that was developed by The Bitmap Brothers and also released on systems such as the Atari ST, IBM PC, Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive and Sharp X68000. Then you might be interested in this latest news story that we've come across via the EAB forums. As Mcgeezer looks to be working on a recoded version for the Commodore Amiga. A new version in which he says "I've decided to try and recode Xenon 2 for AGA running at 50FPS".

As we have found out that DomKid, who is behind games such as the Castlevania fan game of Maria Renard's Revenge. Is still working on the new game of 'Forest of Illusion' via the Scorpion Engine. As in his words "new game inspired by the Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion and Mickey Mania series, some improvements and additions to the Ansimuz graphic art". Dr. Dangerous - Scorpion Engine developed Commodore Amiga game by HooGames2017 is finally here!
A great Friday news story for you all, as we've just been informed through Facebook, that the previously announced Commodore Amiga game of 'Dr.Dangerous' by HooGames2017, has come out of development and is finally available to download and play. A game that not only features great graphics, but there's lots of levels, great music and so much more that makes this a worthy Scorpion Engine developed game to play right now.
