Another day and another Game and Watch mention, as the previous one was called 'Donkey Kong Jr' which was ported over to multiple commodore systems, and this latest release called 'Popeye' has been developed for the ZX Spectrum 48K using Basic by McFly. Now unlike the other game port developed by alargames and starring Mario, Popeye is a simple game of skill starring Popeye and Olive, with the latter tossing objects from a ship's deck to be caught by her sailor boyfriend.
In this game you play as Popeye who wants to spend a day with his love of his life Olivia in his boat. But before leaving for his love cruise across the ocean, they have to stock up on wine and pineapple with injections of absinthe to drive Olivia crazy. Just be aware as in the case of the cartoon, after three instances of failing to grab an object and/or being hit by Brutus, the game is over... Oh and there's Spinach too!
