2005 Mobile game 'Doom RPG' has been port reversed to the PC and it looks pretty damn cool!

I've always had a soft spot for mobile phone games, certainly Redshift's 'The Quest' was appealing with its Dungeon Crawling aesthetics fighting disgusting creatures and finding lost treasures. Well here we are with another special announcement, as if any of you remember the 2005 mobile phone game of 'Doom RPG'; a game developed by Fountainhead Entertainment and published by JAMDAT Mobile combining the Doom first-person shooter franchise with role-playing video game elements. Then as of today you can try the reverse engineered version of the game which is fully playable on your PC!

There were many discussions last year as Doom RPG was thought impossible to find. As at the time even Doom co-creator John Carmack couldn't even find the original code. Thankfully, fans have spent a number of years searching old phones for the code and they’ve made 100% progress bringing the classic and obscure RPG to modern systems. As such over on the Doomworld forums, fans have reverse engineered the Doom RPG from old LG phones and have rebuilt the game from the ground up within Doom’s original engine using bits of BREW code extracted from old phones to build the game.

You need to get the original files to be converted into a friendly format for the port, you can get them from Archive.org, you can search  "Doom RPG BREW" on SOFTWARE menu.Run the BarToZip program to convert the file doomrpg.bar into a DoomRPG.zip, then you run the DoomRPG.exe. Hope you enjoy it, best regards.
