Tony - A challenging yet enjoyable Amiga Platformer by Monochrome Productions arrives on the C64 as a demo

You'd think the Commodore 64 news would calm down after all the great games we've featured so far, but not so! As just moments ago we were contacted by Saberman, that Monochrome Productions has made available a demo of their newest of creations for the C64 called 'Tony'. A Platformer that looks like it could be right at home on a classic Macintosh with monochrome graphics. As ever a video has been provided by Saberman which gives us a better look at the game by Rafał Dudek, Maciej Małecki, and Sami "Mutetus" Juntunen.

Here's the latest from the website for Tony. "Embark on a pixelated journey inspired by Tony Halik, the real-life Polish explorer and filmmaker whose adventures spanned continents and decades. He was exploring ancient civilisations for NBC, Tony's love of discovery knew no bounds. Now it's your turn to step into Tony's digital shoes and unravel the mysteries of Montezuma's Castle in this nostalgic 8-bit homage."

    1. Yeah but the Speccy resolution is 256x192 and the c64 is 320x200 so they will have to cut the screens/map accordingly.

    2. or make everything thinner like on Switchblade which used 16 pixel width sprites and tiles on cpc and 12 pixel width on speccy

  6. While the music itself is great I'm afraid it doesn't fit the game at all. With eyes closed it feels like some nice C64 demo is running not a platform game. I guess it's too late to change it so please add SFX option at least. 👍

  9. Just played through the demo. It's excellent. Great level design, interesting maps but it makes sense to move through the whole map and complete the demo which is great design, I hate most old exploration platformers where you just get lost. Strongly recommend trying this out!
