Santastic - A family Christmas game for your Commodore Amiga

It's nearly Christmas! So to give you that Christmas feeling we have a nice little game for you to play that has recently been released called 'Santastic' by Tukinem for the Commodore Amiga. A game whereby you play as Santa and must deliver presents to children throughout a snowy landscape. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided some footage of the demo that can be downloaded below.

Here's the latest from the website. "In Santastic,  players assume  the role  of Santa  Claus, whose mission is to deliver presents to children awaiting gifts in various regions of a snowy landscape. Each level presents unique challenges,  hazards,  and  opportunities for discovery. At the beginning of every level,  Santa must retrieve his gift sack from the sleigh before commencing deliveries. Without  the  sack, presents  cannot  be  collected  or distributed."

  1. What's with that title screen? It looks like it should be pixelart, but there's a lot of indexing artifacts. The background shading looks like it was originally at a different resolution, with malformed pixels and yet more indexing artifacts. The house perspective is way off - it's at one scale on the left of Santa, and at a completely different on the right. Also, where is Santa sitting, and why are there random fences to the front and back of him? Is this AI slop? The narration certainly is!

    1. I did wonder if it was AI... However how's the game it self? ;)

    2. This looks like a good game for kids.

AI is quite common on the retro scene now. No doubt the real thing looks better, but on the other hand, AI helps those who dont have the time or skills. Looking forward to seeing AI pixel art maturing. Right now, most of it looks generic without soul, and you can spot it instantly. The internet is flooded with pseudo-pixel-art, which is 'kind of' pixel art, but not 1:1 pixels.
