A "modernized" Speedball by Rebellion hits Steam

Lets go back to the 90's, a time of violent handball and ice hockey action, in which violence meets goal scoring antics that appeared in our homes on the Acorn Archimedes, Atari ST, Amiga, Amiga CD32, PC, Commodore 64, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Master System, Game Boy and even the Game Boy Advance. Yes it is none other than Speedball 2, a 1990 game developed by Bitmap Brothers as the sequel to the 1988 game Speedball. So why am I mentioning this game you might ask? Well as of just recently a modernized version of this classic can be played through Steam.

Thanks Torque_live for the heads up

Here's the latest "Speedball is a no-holds-barred arena sport pitting two teams head-to-head in a pulse-racing match-up requiring speed, agility and aggression. Seamless top-down arena gameplay meets classic sports strategy – with added violence! A new entry into the iconic Bitmap Brothers’ original series: venture into the grim future of 2138 where mega-corporations use Speedball to distract the downtrodden masses from their miserable lives. Once an underground sport reviled for its brutality, Speedball has risen to unprecedented heights of popularity and profitability. Do you have what it takes to dominate the arena and take your team to the top?"
