Hyper Runner - A wicked sci-fi racer for the Amiga AGA by Raster Wizards is coming this Autumn!

I used to love playing racing games such as Outrun, Lotus or even XJ220 on the Amiga. It was a time that gave me the feeling of intense speed and near misses without driving a real car and ending up in the local clink. Thankfully if you too like games like that, or even ones with a more science fiction element to them, then make sure to keep an eye on Hyper Runner; A sci-fi racer for the Commodore Amiga AGA by Raster Wizards that's coming as a boxed edition 6th September, and digital 6th October. The game lets you choose from five distinct vehicles, each handling differently out of the box. You then pair your ride with one of 12 different pilots. This choice is crucial, as your pilot fine-tunes your ship's final stats, altering its top speed, acceleration, handling, and shield durability. The core campaign structure is massive. You kick things off by racing through five initial stages. Once you clear a stage, the game presents a fork in the road, allowing you to choose between two different paths. This branching system opens up a staggering 16 unique route combinations across 15 total stages, giving the game incredible replay value. Staying alive on the track takes serious focus. 

You are constantly fighting a shrinking countdown timer while fighting for position. You will need to nail tight corners, dodge rival racers, and avoid track hazards that can wreck your ship or kill your momentum. If your timer hits zero or your ship takes too much punishment and explodes, your run is instantly over. To help you gain an edge, every vehicle comes with a built-in power booster. It gives you a massive burst of speed for overtaking rivals or blasting down straightaways, but it drains a limited energy pool. Use it wisely; when you let off the boost, the meter slowly charges back up on its own. Keep an eye out for glowing power-ups scattered along the tracks. Snatching these up can completely save your run, offering instant hull repairs, manual booster refills, or a few precious extra seconds on the clock.
