JOAN OF ARC - A fantastic platformer from team Griffonsoft and publishers Psytronik Software for the Commodore 64

Retro publisher Psytronik Software has launched Joan of Arc - Deus Contra Machinam, marking the third entry in GriffonSoft’s acclaimed "DataSoft" tribute collection for the Commodore 64. In this dystopian action-puzzler, players control an industrial welder named Joan-27J/6, who must turn her heavy-duty tools against Alpha-Omega—a newly activated, self-aware AI that has enslaved its workers to achieve 100% factory efficiency. Armed with a fully controllable arc-welding weapon, players must fight through a mechanical warzone, solve complex puzzles, and navigate over 30 meticulously detailed screens to spark a revolution and shut down the rogue system.

The game boasts a highly animated protagonist, ultra-responsive control mechanics, and intricate background graphics that even users who have played it have said is another masterpiece from team Griffonsoft. Developed by a veteran retro team, the title features coding and audio by Ola Zandelin, alongside visual design and artwork by Dennis Gustafsson. Available for both PAL and NTSC systems—and fully compatible with modern hardware clones like the C64 Mini and Maxi—the deluxe digital bundle comes packed with the game files, a full soundtrack, and a downloadable comic-book manual.
