Phantasy Star 2 - Marco Ughetta is aiming to port this Sega Mega Drive RPG over to the Amiga [UPDATE]

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Sega Mega Drive, especially with my ever growing collection of great games, such as FINK, Golden Axe, Mickey Mania and my personal favorite Comix Zone. So to find out that Marco Ughetta was aiming to port the Sega Mega Drive game of 'Phantasy Star II' over to the Commodore Amiga, this certainly caught my interest. Sure, it's still in an early stage of development, and at one point I wasn't sure if it was going to go any further at all, but we are pleased to show you the latest demo footage.

And here's the latest details in brief. "This project is a tribute to the Amiga and to the legendary RPG for Sega MegaDrive, my goal is to bring back my favourite RPG of all time and give it to the Amiga. The game’s aesthetic remains faithful to the original, all the elements that made Phantasy Star 2 a TRUE ICON as an RPG are preserved, and finally I'm aiming to make the full game run on an Amiga 500, but I've just started learning to develop on Scorpion Engine so for now I want to go as far as possible even if it will run on A1200 only"

UPDATE : The developer has released a new build, and here is what he has said "Finally the Amiga 500 demo version is available and tested on real hardware too! I feel like I'm at the  end of this journey but can't resist... I can't really say when but I intend to finish the game in little new revised version! Maybe it will be on 1200  or 500 (not with just 1MB) but I assure you I will try to make it fit on a default 500 with 1MB total of RAM.".
