Hexapucchu - An Amstrad adventure with stunning graphics by Eric Cubizolle and Pulsophonic

Another homebrew this week and while it's not your usual platformer or Shoot 'em up that's graced our 8bit systems, it is in fact a new Amstrad CPC adventure game called 'Hexapucchu' by Titan. A game that not only harks back to the days of commands such as North, South, Look and Pick Up, but it's one of the nicest games I've seen for some time, as an adventure game for the Amstrad CPC. To coincide with this news, provided below are some screenshots, gameplay footage and details from the website.

And here's the details. "Hexapucchu was created in 15 days. This game was born from an old (but very persistent) desire to create by myself an adventure game in the spirit of Devilry II, which I had programmed in my youth, back in 1989. Thus, on July 18, 2025, I decided to design the very first screen of the game. It was the title screen. I was still on vacation for one more week by the sea, and I took advantage of this suspended moment in time to work intensively. The screens followed one after another, and even though the main outlines were already sketched, the storyline took shape gradually, almost instinctively".
  • Within a week, 75% of the development was already done.
  • I completed the game's design the following week, despite a slower pace due to returning to work.
  • I would like to especially thank Pulsophonic for the music, Roudoudou for their advice, and Demoniak for their tools and invaluable help with how they work.

  8. I don't think I've ever heard the ol' AY-3-8912 produce music quite like that. Sounds great!
