Street Fighter II - An improved version of a classic fighting game is coming to the Amiga via AI and Str1der

I'm sure many of you remember the Street Fighter games, more especially Street Fighter 2; a game which originally appeared on the Arcades, and was then ported to pretty much every system you could think of, including such systems as the Amiga, Atari St and even the ZX Spectrum.  Well fast forward to today however, and a developer by the name of Str1der with the help of AI, is working on an improved version of Street Fighter 2 for the AMIGA to bring it more in line with the Arcades and better than the original US Gold port released in the 90s.

Alien 3 CD32 Edition - This is finally the Amiga version we should have had all along (Gravedigger)

Cover by Wachi

The Commodore Amiga CD32 has received a bit of treat this Halloween with the release of Alien 3 CD32 Edition, a complete overhaul developed by EAB community creator Mister_Grave. Built entirely from scratch, this latest project rewrites the original game engine to, as the developer puts it, finally deliver the definitive Amiga version players have deserved for decades. By harnessing the full power of the Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) chipset, this release brings the visually superior Sega Mega Drive assets over to Commodore's 32-bit console for the first time.

Maniac Mansion - A legendary adventure game has unofficially arrived on the ZX Spectrum 128k

Screenshot by ElMundodelSpectrum

Thanks to ElMundodelSpectrum giving us the heads up, the impossible has finally been achieved: Lucasfilm Games' legendary 1987 graphic adventure, Maniac Mansion, has unofficially arrived on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128k. For decades, fans believed the tiny 8-bit machine could never handle a point-and-click epic of this size and complexity. Breaking all boundaries, the developers at Outsoftware have used advanced AI-assisted tools to turn this long-held community dream into a reality, delivering a conversion that hopefully captures the magic of the original Commodore 64 and PC versions.

Outpost - A new speccy game inspired by Dizzy series and modern metroidvania!

Juan J. Martínez is back with Outpost, a brand-new platform-adventure for the classic ZX Spectrum 48k. The game kicks off with a classic sci-fi nightmare: your spaceship has crash-landed on a deeply hostile world. You wake up inside a medical pod in what appears to be a completely deserted mining outpost. It isn’t empty for long, though—the place is crawling with aggressive alien creatures. Your main goal is simple but challenging: explore the base, survive the hostile environment, and find a way to escape the planet alive.

Sabre Wulf - Ultimate Play the Game classic gets a true C64 remaster and it looks sublime!

Well this is glorious news, as I've just found out through Facebook that the eagerly awaited ' Sabre Wulf  ' remaster by Genesis Project has finally been released for the Commodore 64! Yes indeed this famous game released in 1984 by Ultimate Play the Game, and originally released on the ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, C64 and Amstrad CPC, has yet again made its home on the C64 but this time with incredible remastered graphics such as in game and a fancy loader. To coincide with this news, we've got some footage of the game below.

Magic Pockets - A great Amiga platformer as a port for the Amstrad CPC 6128 via Lake Software and AI

One of my personal favourites, the 1991 platformer Magic Pockets, originally developed by The Bitmap Brothers and published by Renegade, has been ported to the Amstrad CPC 6128 by Lake Software with the help of AI. The game follows the adventures of the Bitmap Kid, who must journey through four distinct worlds—The Cave, The Jungle, The Lake, and The Mountain—to recover his toys from his bottomless trousers. Spanning 30 levels, the conversion hopes to replicate the iconic gameplay mechanics, where players run, jump, and blast unique world-specific weapons like whirlwinds, rolling balls, ice cubes, and snowballs.

Puzzle Bobble - A bubble popping Arcade classic arrives on the Commodore Amiga as an AI AGA edition

dlfrsilver who was behind the recent Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge & Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis AGA AI ports, has announced the release of Puzzle Bobble AGA for the Amiga 1200. Written natively in 680x0 assembly code, this project represents the very first time a game from Neo Geo hardware or Taito's System B has been directly ported to the A1200. The game adapts Taito's iconic 1994 tile-matching arcade classic—originally famous for its cute Japanese aesthetic, vibrant music, and addictive bubble-popping mechanics—and optimises it for a Amiga 1200 processor and its advanced AGA chipset. Please note, while it does say stock Amiga 1200's, users have said it requires a 030/50mhz for full speed and to be smooth, the developer disregards this and says it works fine on 68020 + Fast Ram (4mb).

Splatterhouse - A gory slasher arrives on the Amiga via Modern Vintage Gamer

Modern Vintage Gamer who was behind Gunsmoke AGA and Zippy Race A500,  has unofficially brought the ultimate nightmare to the Amiga with a port of Namco’s horror classic, Splatterhouse, specifically rebuilt for the Amiga AGA. Players can finally step into Rick's shoes, don the iconic terror mask, and brave the creature-infested mansion to rescue Jennifer. This ambitious conversion delivers the complete seven-stage arcade-style adventure directly to the A1200 and other AGA-equipped machines. It also supports standard joysticks as well as CD32 controllers for an authentic, responsive gameplay experience.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 AGA - An AI Sonic 2 port for Amiga AGA via EAB moderator Cody Jarrett

EAB moderator Cody Jarrett has ported over Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog 2 over to the Commodore Amiga AGA, delivering the entire game from the iconic logo to the final credits. This conversion includes all eleven zones, cooperative play with a computer-controlled or second-player Tails, the 2-Player VS mode, and the legendary special stages. Remarkably, the developer built the port by using Anthropic's AI, Claude, to translate the original 68000 game logic from the Sonic Retro community's s2disasm disassembly into C code. Furthermore, the developer ran the original and new code side-by-side using the Unicorn engine to check for identical results. Unlike reassembler’s highly anticipated, purely human-coded upcoming Sonic 1 Amiga port, this Sonic 2 project leans on modern AI assistance, offering a alternative approach to retro development.

Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 AGA - A native Amiga AGA version for sports fans!

Just as I was about to call it a day, here comes 'OpenSWOS', a ground-up rewrite of the legendary football game Sensible World of Soccer 96/97. By reconstructing the original source code entirely in the C programming language, the developer(s) have delivered a native AGA version that finally achieves what the 1996 original couldn't: a gorgeous, true 256-colour palette across the pitch and backgrounds. Available completely for free, OpenSWOS brings back the entire definitive football experience for retro gaming fans, including friendlies, full seasons, custom tournaments, and the iconic 20-year career mode. Moving the architecture to C not only drastically improves how the game looks today, but also opens the door for future feature additions!

Sabre Wulf - Ultimate Play the Game classic gets another Commodore 64 remaster

Developer Sveinacious-G with music by Greg Duddle has released Sabre Wulf Remastered for the Commodore 64, delivering a faithful yet enhanced port of Ultimate’s foundational ZX Spectrum hit. Celebrated for pioneering mechanics like an interconnected map and off-screen enemy tracking (wiki), the original game's blueprint has been meticulously preserved here. Players should note that this specific release is a standalone passion project and is completely distinct from the separate, upcoming remaster by the Genesis Project.

Alone in the Dark (Macintosh version) is being ported over to the Amiga via Vesuri

Vesiru is aiming to bring the famous survival horror experience Alone in the Dark to the Commodore Amiga. Rather than rebuilding the game entirely from scratch, this unofficial port operates as a clever compatibility layer that directly executes the 68k code from the 1994 Apple Macintosh version. It dynamically translates the original Mac system services—including memory allocation, event handling, file paths, and QuickDraw graphics—into Amiga-friendly equivalents. As a result, the visuals are processed into native AGA bitplanes while the audio utilizes the Amiga's Paula sound chip, and a WHDLoad installer is already available via EAB's Retroplay Whdload Pack.

BRIGHTMOOR - An AI Ultima-style C64 game from GloomKeep II creator J5

Here's the latest game 'BRIGHTMOOR', a new Ultima-style retro RPG built from the ground up in 6502 assembly on the robust GloomKeep II engine with the help of AI. The game plunges players into a dark fantasy world where King Mordran, desperate to escape his own mortality, has struck a catastrophic bargain with an ancient force sleeping beneath the earth. As a result of this truce, the kingdom’s protective dawn bell has fallen silent, transforming the monarch into the Hollow King and plunging the realm into perpetual twilight. To restore daylight, a lone hero must venture across a massive 64 by 64 tile world and conquer six inverted black towers known as Gloomholds, which burrow deep into the earth rather than stretching into the sky.

Tomb Lady, Orion and more! - An AI assisted games pack for the Amiga by Peppe74

For those of you who hate AI, then avoid this altogether, as Peppe74 has just released a brand-new collection of homebrew games for the Commodore Amiga using AI assistance.  The entire pack runs on a completely stock Amiga 500 with just 512k of RAM, or an Amiga 1000 equipped with a standard 256k front expansion. In an era where the latest retro releases can demand hardware upgrades, this project goes back to basics. Every single title is fully bootable straight from a traditional floppy disk, a Gotek drive, or via the WinUAE emulator, requiring absolutely no extra memory expansions to play.

Pool of Radiance - SSI's legendary RPG comes to the Atari ST (AI) and expanded Sega Mega Drive

The Advanced Dungeons & Dragons legendary RPG Pool of Radiance has arrived on the Atari ST, fulfilling a decades-old promise originally made by Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI). The title famously vanished from release schedules after its initial announcement long ago. However, according to the website the developer cb-fgc with the help of AI recently revived the project by modifying the system's official release of the sequel, Curse of the Azure Bonds. Since SSI's iconic Gold Box engine uses a highly modular design, modifying the sequel's code allowed the creator to retroactively port the missing original adventure to the Atari ST.

Eldemar - A new first-person RPG / Action game for the Amiga with music Allister "Demon" Brimble ( KICKSTARTER )

A team of demo scene veterans has officially launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to bring a brand-new first-person fantasy RPG titled Eldemar to classic Commodore hardware. Developed by Darkage Software, the project is spearheaded by programmer Paolo "Mod3m" D'Urso and graphic artist Christophe "TenShu" Romagnoli, alongside legendary Team17 composer Allister Brimble handling audio. Built entirely from scratch using raw 68k assembly language, this native AGA Amiga title runs directly on Amiga hardware including the Amiga 1200, Amiga 4000, and Amiga CD32 without relying on modern emulation layers or lazy ports.

The Eggcellent Dizzy Collection - Three Dizzy classics are coming to the Sega Mega Drive as a collective edition

Gaming legends Philip and Andrew Oliver, better known as the Oliver Twins, will at some point soon be celebrating 40 years of eggventures with an all-new Kickstarter campaign! The Eggcellent Dizzy Collection brings together three beloved retro classics—Dizzy The Adventurer, Go! Dizzy Go!, and PANIC! Dizzy—packaged together on a single 16-bit Mega Drive/Genesis cartridge. Whether you are a lifelong fan of the Yolkfolk or a newcomer to the franchise, this anthology offers a perfect blend of nostalgia for those of you who remember these fabulous classics.

Tutankham - Konami's 1982 arcade game arrives on the Amiga via LC-Games

Some more Amiga news for you all (as if you needed any more ;) ), as we've just been told through both Facebook and Twitter, that LC-Games has released a new Commodore Amiga game of 'Tutankham'; A new tribute of Tutankham which was originally an Arcade game developed by Konami in 1982. To coincide with this news, not only is there a new video to view below, but this game works perfectly on PAL OCS, ECS, and AGA Amiga systems, as well as NTSC ECS and AGA systems requiring only 512 KB Chip RAM.

Ghost Sweeper - A spooky puzzle platformer is coming to the Game Boy Advance with successful funding on Kickstarter!

Handheld retro gamers here's something you may be interested in, and it's 'Ghost Sweeper'', a new action-puzzle platformer that is officially heading to the Game Boy Advance. Spearheaded by PIKO Interactive and 7 Raven Studios, the game's newly launched crowdfunding campaign has been an absolute success, hitting its initial funding goal in a mere five days and quickly soaring past 130% backing. The title promises a delightful blend of classic, retro-style platforming and supernatural brain-teasers. Players will navigate through a series of delightfully eerie, trap-laden environments teeming with monsters and ghosts, all rendered in beautifully crisp pixel art. Designed explicitly to run on the Game Boy Advance, it serves as a perfect nostalgic treat for collectors and retro gamers alike.

The Greatest American Hero - A new shooter for the C64 by Commodore Spain

The 1980s American comedy-drama superhero television series 'The Greatest American Hero' has received a video game adaptation, courtesy of Commodore Spain. Developed for the Commodore 64, this release serves as a heartfelt tribute to mark the show's 45th anniversary. For those who remember the cult classic—known affectionately in Spain as El gran héroe americano—the story centers on Ralph Hinkley, an everyday high school teacher who receives an extraterrestrial suit that grants him phenomenal superpowers. The comedic catch, of course, is that Ralph immediately loses the alien instruction manual, leaving him to figure out his newfound abilities through chaotic trial and error.
