The Demon Jar - A short horror based illustrated text adventure game for multiple systems such as Amiga, C64...

Yet another Amiga game and the last one for this weekend hopefully, is The Demon Jar; or, Fosdyke's Folly, a retro-style illustrated text adventure game designed as a short horror story for the Amstrad, Amiga, Atari ST, C64, Plus4, and ZX Spectrum (NEXT). Crafted by developer Alan Pemberton, the game transports players to a fine summer evening at the absolute height of the Victorian era. Stepping into the shoes of a young gentleman named Oswald Stanley, players set off to visit an old college companion, only for the night to take a deeply sinister turn as a murderous evil spirit emerges from the shadows. What follows is a adventure crafted to chill Oswald to his very marrow, leaving it entirely up to the player's choices to guide him safely through the harrowing night.

Fix-It Felix Jr has appeared on the ZX Spectrum Next and it looks really good!

The classic arcade vibe of Wreck-It Ralph has leapt off the cinema screen with a massive new release for the ZX Spectrum Next. While fans have spent years recreating the movie's fictional 1982 arcade hit Fix-It Felix Jr. on everything from mobile phones to the Sega Genesis, a definitive new version has appeared as a port from the Commodore 64 to the ZX Spectrum Next. While Steven Day recently reached out to us to share this exciting news, you can check out the latest footage and details below.

Oids PC - A brilliant Thrust-like game comes over to the ZX Spectrum NEXT

I was going to have a break today, but I recently found about the release of Oids PC by Mausthekat for the ZX Spectrum NEXT. A faithful, built-from-scratch recreation of Dan Hewitt’s classic 1987 Atari ST game, newly optimized for the ZX Spectrum Next. Far from a lazy emulation, this tribute preserves the notoriously unforgiving physics that defined the original experience, challenging pilots to master a flight model based on momentum, gravity, and sixteen precise headings of another classic that many of us remember, thrust.

Ranbler - A rather decent Scramble clone for the ZX Next by zxspeccykid

Ranbler is a brand new release for the ZX Spectrum Next that pays homage to Konami’s classic 1981 arcade hit, Scramble. Built entirely from scratch, the game serves as the creator's very first full production using z80 asm language on the Next. According to zxspeccykid who released this great clone via itch io, he took on the self-challenge of mastering the Next's advanced hardware capabilities, learning how to manipulate Layer 2 graphics, sprite behaviors, and custom color palettes along the way. Deeply indebted to the homebrew community, the creator credits developer Kev Philips for the foundation of the project, as well as the numerous Next programmers who share their open-source material on platforms like GitHub to help others study and learn the craft.
