A decade after its initial concept, Naufr4g0 has officially launched Gravity Snake, a demanding new puzzle title for the Commodore 64 and C64 Ultimate. Gravity Snake challenges players to navigate a series of intricate, labyrinthine chambers. The objective relies on spatial awareness and precision: players must guide a snake to consume all available fruit and locate the exit. Just beware that Gravity constantly influences your movement turning every trapped filled level into a challenge of logic, timing, and careful planning.

Another day and another news story, as the classic 8-bit computer welcomes possibly its first-ever 3D warehouse puzzler with the release of Isometric Sokoban by kielack. A new game that has been programmed completely in assembler by Armin Kielack with Elena Kielack doing the music for the game. Isometric Sokoban features an extensive library of over 200 stages. To prevent frustration, every single map has been rigorously tested and verified as 100% solvable. The massive collection of puzzles was crafted by a collaborative group of designers and checkers listed below the video.

Another ZX Spectrum game has arrived, as homebrew developer Briefer666 has released an updated build of --=O O=--, a unique competitive multiplayer game for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. The core objective of --=O O=-- is simple yet frantic that will have you hooked: players must completely paint their half of the screen before their opponent does. Each player commands a distinct dual-setup consisting of both a ball and a sharp blade. A blade that must be avoided at all costs... One wrong move and it's back to the "safety" zone for you.
BLINDWALKER - A new retro puzzle-platformer for the ZX Spectrum by Ariel Endaraues
Another ZX Spectrum game has appeared and it's Ariel Endaraues' latest masterpiece, BLINDWALKER, a game which secured the prestigious Best Technological Development Award at Retro Game Dev 2026. Organized by Espacio Tec, the international tournament challenged developers to push 8-bit hardware to its limits, and Blindwalker stood out as a technical marvel on the ZX Spectrum. To coincide with this new game for the speccy, Saberman has done a video showing the game in action.

Brek'n'Bubble - A Block'n'Bubble and Brektwon mash up as a new action and logical puzzle game for the C64
What does a wizard do once he’s already conquered the vaults of the Seraphim? For the protagonist of the new Commodore 64 title Brek’n’Bubble, the answer isn’t "relax." Despite living in a magnificent, newly-purchased castle surrounded by buffed golden goblets and polished diamonds, our hero has found that extreme wealth comes with even more extreme boredom. Seeing an opportunity to both outshine his relative and find some new decor for his dining hall, the wizard sets off for Brektwon's island. Surely there were still a few coins and pretty necklaces to be fetched as decoration for his dining hall!
Gem'X Lite - A fast-paced puzzle title for the Commodore Plus/4 by Pzsolt and Hege8
A late entry hits the retro scene just in time for the competition deadline. Retro gaming fans have a new reason to dust off their Commodore Plus/4 systems. Just before the latest competition cutoff, developer pzsolt has officially launched Gem'X Lite, a fast-paced puzzle title now available on Plus/4 World. Gem'X Lite challenges players to master its pattern-matching mechanics. The goal is simple but demanding: you must recreate a target configuration by toggling coloured diamonds on a grid. The catch? Every move counts. Flipping a tile doesn't just change that specific diamond; it also affects every neighbouring tile in the grid. Strategy and foresight are essential to align the pieces before the timer expires.
Wizznic - An opensource puzzle game has arrived on the Amiga via Paulthetall
While I can't stand Puzzle games ( I'm not very good at them ), I've recently come across a new game that has been released by Paulthetall called 'Wizznic'. A game that the developer describes as an opensource puzzle game, which has been original created by the awesome Dusted for Windows and Linux, ported over to the Amiga. Randoom - A challenging yet enjoyable Commodore Plus/4 game has been released! ( Previously for the C64 and MSX )
The news just keeps on coming, as if Defender of the Crown and Deuteros coming as a remake to your PC wasn't enough to whet your appetite, then you might be interested to learn as thanks to a heads up from Saberman through Facebook, you can now download the latest Commodore Plus/4 game of Randoom by Csabo, Epy, SukkoPera and Unreal ; a brand Arcade puzzle game in which you need to clear all the squares throughout 31 fun packed levels to win the game!
Pjusk - A puzzler from Zooperdan for the Commodore Amiga [UPDATE]
While many of you are looking forward to playing the finished version of 'RallyXSE', there's another game that's worth checking out by the same developer, especially if you like puzzle games, is Zooperdan's Amiga game of 'Pjusk'. A Sokoban like game whereby you must defeat enemies in the right order and collect power-ups along the way to carve your way to the exit. Diggers - This PC fan-remake of a classic strategy and puzzle like Amiga/DOS game looks fantastic
Well this is fantastic news especially if you had either an Amiga or PC(DOS), as Mhatxotic is working on a remake of the classic strategy and puzzle-like game called 'Diggers'. A 90's title that was developed and published by Millennium Interactive for the Amiga and PC. A game in which the player takes control of a mining team excavating a planet for precious minerals. To coincide with this news, of which I'm excited to try out later, the developer has provided the full details below.
Quarx - A new Match 'em up teased for the Commodore 64 by David Murray and team
A new game has surfaced for the Commodore 64, as we have just found out thanks to a heads up by a good friend of ours, that the8bitguy, who is behind games such as Planet X16 and Petscii Robots, is currently working on a game with Piotr Radecki and Moelle Aman called 'Quarx'. A high quality Match 'em up, whereby you need to move pieces falling from the top to form complete horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines for a high score. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided some footage of this game that's currently still being worked on.
The Holy Cube Deluxe - A rather unusual puzzler for the C64, gets an Amiga port!
Thanks to another heads up from a good friend of ours , we've been told that if you're looking for something different to play on your Amiga and C64, then make sure to check out la1n's latest game release of 'The Holy Cube Deluxe'; A game in which you need to grab all the circular colours to move on to the next level! In light of this news that's been as thick as a milkshake this week, Saberman has done a video of the game being played.
YEET - A small but challenging puzzle game for the Commodore Amiga by Zooperdan
Even more Amiga games to keep you occupied, as thanks to Saberman letting me know through Facebook, I've been told that the legendry Dungeon Crawler fan of Zooperdan, has created another Commodore Amiga game called 'YEET'. While I'm still hopeful of a decent crawler from this developer, this game however, is a small but challenging puzzle game, a game whereby you have to move and push runes off the edge of a screen until only one remains.

Mirror - An arcade puzzle game for the Amiga with a 1.4 update
The OutRun Amiga Edition and The Gate weren't the only additions to the Amiga this month, as we've just learned through Saberman that Zener has made available through itch io, an update to his previously released arcade puzzle game called ' Mirror ' from 2023. A RedPill puzzle created game that has graphical artwork by Sandman and music by Estrayk/Capsule. Originally presented at Capacitor Party 2017 (Malaga).
AmiKlotski - A block moving puzzle game for the Amiga by Zooperdan with music by Kragle
Cindy Block - Smooth gameplay at 50 frames per second on your ZX Spectrum
Kubanoid, ASYMMETRY, Travel Unlimited, and Cubix, aren't the only games worth shouting about on Indie Retro News for the ZX Spectrum, as here's another game that's worth checking out, and it's the action puzzle game 'Cindy Block' by Grongy, Art-top and n1k-o. A game that's noted by the team as containing, "smooth gameplay at 50 frames per second and plenty of visual effects." Master of Minefields - Check out this new 'Minesweeper' game for the Commodore Amiga by Digital Worlds Studio
Ahh Minesweeper, a game that so many of us have played at least once! Although it wasn't my type of game however, it certainly had its cult following. For those of you who don't remember anything about this puzzler. Players had to clear the board of numbers without coming across deadly exploding bombs using help from clues about the number of neighbouring mines in each field. So why are we mentioning this game on Indie Retro News? Well Digital Worlds Studio has released their own version of the game for the Commodore Amiga called ' Master of Minefields '.
CASTLE of TERROR - A new Puzzler for the GameBoy by PCNONOGames
There's nothing more satisfying than writing about the latest games, but when it comes to my chunky handheld the Gameboy or the GameBoy Advanced, it's feeling a little left out. Sure we've had games that are designed in a Gameboy style, but actual fresh cartridges is something of a rarity. So here's one game that looks to be worth downloading or pre-ordering if you want a physical edition, is CASTLE of TERROR by PCNONOGames.
