Although it's rare, there are occasions when we miss out on the latest Amiga releases, which is usually because we don't get the news sent to us, or it involves a lot more than delving into the depths of a hard forum discussion. Well thankfully one of our readers has sent us a number of Amiga updates, with one of them announcing a new version of NovaCoder's Duke Nukem 3D AGA/RTG port for the Amiga. An all time classic game originally released in the 90's for the PC and other systems.

We've featured the 1983 game of 'Tapper' a number of times now, as throughout these last few months we've been telling everyone, that the beer serving Arcade game originally by Marvin Glass and Associates released by Bally Midway, was coming to the Amiga as an Arcade port. Well today we have another Tapper news story for you all, as Old_Bob has told us that the previously mentioned in-development Amiga version has been finished and is now available for download. As in the words of the creator "Ok, dudes. After 3 years, 4 months and 17 days since the day I began the thing, the finished game is now, at last...Time here, for a celebratory beer, or three!"

When it comes to games such as Meat Boy and VVVVV you just know the game is going to be fun but extremely challenging and sometimes frustrating as hell with broken keyboards and frustrating screams. Well if weren't able to check out the frustrating yet enjoyable homebrew game of Slow Mole because you didn't have an NES, you'll be pleased to know that as of just recently, we've been told the game is now being developed for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis as Mega Mole; a hardcore puzzle platformer with a focus on challenging maneuvers and mind-bending puzzles.

RPG fans and retro gamers alike prepare to have your minds blown, as we've recently come across an announcement by our good friends GOG, that Gavin “Interkarma” Clayton has finally released a fully featured version of " Daggerfall Unity - The GOG Cut" ; a remastered version of the all-time RPG classic from The Elder Scrolls series. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall was released in 1996 as a fantasy open world RPG and is regarded as one of the most amazing RPG's of all time.. With it being ported over to Unity, you'll be able to experience this wonder with high res textures and high grade visuals and even mouse look!
Venture - 1981 arcade game Venture for the Commodore 64!
Here on Indie Retro News we do like hearing about Arcade games that have been lost and found, or more recent conversions over to systems such as the Amiga, Atari, Amstrad, C64 or ZX Spectrum. Well here we are with another fine story for all you retro gamers out there. As we have recently found out through Facebook that 'Venture'; a game originally released in 1981 as a fantasy arcade game that later appeared on the ColecoVision and then finally the Atari 2600 and Intellivision, has been converted over to the C64 by Donnie Russell!

Manic Miner - A great classic as an 8-bit game for the Acorn Electron
In 1983 Matthew Smith and published by Bug-Byte released the well known classic of Manic Miner for the ZX Spectrum. Although it was later released again for systems such as the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, Commodore 16 and C64, it was the first game in the willy series being voted number 25 in the Your Sinclair official top 100 Spectrum games of all time. So why are we mentioning this classic game yet again on Indie Retro News? 0xC0DE6502 has turned his attention to the Acorn Electron, with a new v0.06b release based on the enhanced version for the BBC Micro by TobyLobster!

Brick's Revenge - Bouncing balls in this Arkanoid/Breakout C64 WIP clone
The sun is going down fast and it's nearly time to rest, but before that happens we thought it best to mention Amazingly Awful Games upcoming game of ' Brick's Revenge ', which is a clone/inspiration to classic games such as Arkanoid or even Breakout and is coming to a C64 at some point soon. Now if you remember Arkanoid; an arcade game first developed by Taito in 1986, with the bat like device scrolling from side to side at the bottom of the screen, bouncing an orb back and forth and smashing blocks for a high score, then keep eye out for this game as it looks very similar and just as fun.
Bridge Strike - Modern 'River Raid' on the Amiga is now ready to enjoy!
As we said before in our recent article, many months ago the creators of Tanks Furry , Project R3D, released a teaser for their in development Amiga game ' Bridge Strike ', which had a backers winter demo along side the announced AmiGameJam and was awarded second place in the Game Competition at RetroKomp event in Gdańsk. But today there's a BIG shocker, as although Bridge Strike was due to be released during April, we've actually been told the full game can be digitally downloaded RIGHT NOW!
OpenRCT2 project - Open-Source adaption of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, gets a new dev build
I'm sure many of you remember the awesome game that is RollerCoaster Tycoon 2; a game by Chris Sawyer and published by Infograms in which you manage your very own theme park, with all it's rides, shops, guests and economic fortune. Well that same game is now being given a much needed adjustment with the latest release of OpenRCT2 Project. An open source development which improves the game even further with new features, original bug fixes, raised game limits and much more!
Cheril the Writer - The Mojon Twins new NES game is now available
Bit late on this one I'm afraid as I was visiting family and had previously mentioned the game was coming, but The Mojon Twins have finally announced the release of their new game Cheril the Writer, which has been released for the NES. This game star's that lovable character Cheril who was also seen in their other game Mega Cheril Perils; previously released for the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive.
Pink Pills: Manic Moritz and the Meds - A fabulous Amstrad game you've got to play!
This week so far has been awesome for gaming news and the best news so far has just hit our inbox. As we've been told Sebastian Braunert's Amstrad game of ' Pink Pills ', which was developed using Arcade Game Designer with a team such as Kees van Oss and Uwe Geiken, has been released for the Amstrad CPC and is well worth checking out. Looking like an old school platformer, in this game you play as Moritz and must collect all the bones in each of the levels while avoiding crazy enemies.
Cimmerian - Graphically impressive 'Barbarian' coming to the Sega Master System and Mega Drive
I have decided to save the best till last, as during our trip through Twitter we've come across what looks to be a graphically impressive "pseudo" port of the famous Barbarian, which originally appeared on many different systems including the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, C64, ZX Spectrum and Atari ST. Titled as 'Cimmerian' and developed by Ichigobankai, with its first showing for the SMSPower! Competition in 2016. This updated development looks better than ever with stunning high quality detail, which will not only be coming to the Sega Master System but also the Sega Mega Drive too!
SMS Power! Competition 2018 - The Sega Master System comp finished with cool stuff to play!
During the early part of this year one of our most favourite sites for the Sega Master System called SMS Power! Ran a competition with multiple categories for users around the world to come together to make hacks, music and new games, as a way to show off their talent but also to win one of the competitions areas. Thankfully lots of people got involved which means loading up your old retro SMS was well worth doing.
Bomb Jack Beer Edition - Classic game enhanced gets a WIP AMIGA Debug Build 3E
It's still raining outside and making most brits feel naff, but at least there's games to play and more so with the latest beta release of ' Bomb Jack Beer Edition ' by Graeme Cowie. Now before you get too excited and think this latest version is going to be a big hit, I'm afraid not. As according to the creator this version is mainly a Debug Build which will help him pin down why his enhanced work in progress game keeps crashing on Amiga AGA computers.
