Reginald and the She Vampires - Amstrad CPC Remake/reboot of Mr Weems and the She Vampires!

If you remember playing the 1987 game called Mr Weems and the She Vampires by RamJam Corporation, a game that was loosely based upon the 1985 Atari Games arcade title Gauntlet. Then come and check out typhonsoft's new game called Reginald and the She Vampires. An Amstrad CPC Remake/reboot of, and sequel to that 1987 game. To coincide with this news, we've got some footage of the uncensored version with the censored version being linked below.

Dr. Dangerous - This upcoming Scorpion Engine developed Commodore Amiga game by HooGames2017 looks swish!

Thanks to a midweek shout out from Saberman, we've been told that the upcoming Commodore Amiga game of 'Dr.Dangerous' by HooGames2017, has been updated with a number of changes such as improved game speed, new enemy types and so much more. For those of you wondering if this game is worth following, then the feedback such as "Wow, what an awesome game! " and "Great game, congrats to you all :)" such tell you all you need to know. To coincide with this news, we've got some more info about the game as well as a video.

Dr.Dangerous - Only a playable test version, but it looks pretty decent so far! (Amiga)

A late hour Commodore Amiga news story has just appeared, as we've recently found out through through Facebook, that HooGames2017 has made available a playable test version of his in development Amiga game 'Dr.Dangerous'. A game that has already gained positive feedback such as "Wow! From the first few seconds, you can see that it will be a standout title, character and style in abundance" and "Great character animation and very nice graphics". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video of the game below.

Firefighter - Put out the flames in this new Atari XL/XE beta tease!

The Atari XL/XE games just keep on coming, as thanks to another heads up earlier today from our good friend Saberman, he has told us that Bill Kendrick has made available a beta version of his new twin-stick firefighting action game for the Atari XL/XE called Firefighter. A new game in which you need to not only put out the fires at an industrial building, but you must also find and rescue the workers trapped inside. To coincide with this news, we also have some footage of the beta version viewable below.

Frogger500 - A 1:1 arcade port is coming to the Commodore Amiga via RMJ & JoeJoe (+Beta Download)

While you can still play the awesome remade version of Frogger for the C64 called ' Frogger Arcade ' by Hokuto Force (Digital Monastery). There's another version that's being created which you may be interested in playing when it's finished, and that's RMJ & JoeJoe's latest project of Frogger for the Commodore Amiga. A new version of the game which the creator says "is a 1:1 arcade port using of course the original Z80 code that he reverse-engineered & transcoded to 68000". To coincide with this news, we have some footage of the beta that can be viewed below.

Pengo - Another Arcade to Amiga conversion via JOTD gets a beta download


After just announcing the awesome game that is Rygar, along comes JOTD with a brand new update for his upcoming creation of Pengo! Yes indeed this 1982 game by SEGA, which I had the pleasure of playing back in the day, is coming to the Amiga by the same creator who also did Super Xevious 1200 as well as the upcoming Galaxian 500. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a short video of the beta version which you can download and play right now on a real Amiga or via Emulation.

Tapper - Arcade beer drinking classic on the Amiga gets a final release and it's GREAT!

We've featured the 1983 game of 'Tapper' a number of times now, as throughout these last few months we've been telling everyone, that the beer serving Arcade game originally by Marvin Glass and Associates released by Bally Midway, was coming to the Amiga as an Arcade port. Well today we have another Tapper news story for you all, as Old_Bob has told us that the previously mentioned in-development Amiga version has been finished and is now available for download. As in the words of the creator "Ok, dudes. After 3 years, 4 months and 17 days since the day I began the thing, the finished game is now, at last...Time here, for a celebratory beer, or three!"

BORSCH (BETA) - Welcome to a DOOM like experience on your ZX Spectrum 128k

It was only just the other month that we showed you an eye opening Quake engine created by Alone Coder together with Dragons' Lord, that was running at an impressive speed on a standard ZX Spectrum 128k. Well fast forward to today and if you thought that was indeed impressive, then as of right now you can try out Vladimir Zubarev's (Dragons` Lord) latest Yandex Retro Games Battle entry of BORSCH. A beta version of a new game engine which aims to bring a Doom like experience to the ZX Spectrum 128k running at an impressive frame rate. 

Caves & Cargo - An upcoming Amiga game by TheoTheoderich Inspired by Gravity Force (Features Speech Samples!)

If you remember the 1989 Amiga, Atari ST and DOS game of Gravity Force, then you might like this early hour news story, as we've recently been informed by a good friend of ours on Facebook, that TheoTheoderich is not only working on an Amiga game inspired by Gravity Force called Caves & Cargo, but he has also released the first version of the game for you to try as the creators first self-made (and almost finished) BlitzBasic2 game!)".  

Blood - Another classic MS-DOS FPS making its way to powerful Amiga's via BSZili

Another great heads up by Solo Kazuki is the MS-DOS first person shooter ' Blood ', is being ported over to the Commodore Amiga by BSzili. Originally developed by Monolith Productions and published by GT Interactive back in 1997. Blood is a game that features an abundance of graphic violence, such as enemies being blown to pieces, bloody gibblets being splattered across the screen, the screams of enemies on fire, and much much more which makes it an integral part of the violent atmosphere of Blood.

THE BLOODIAN CHRONICLES - Fan game inspired by one of the strangest retro games Captain Blood.

Let's go back to 1988, a time when one of the strangest games was to set the tone for space adventuring, alien communication and finger pointing game play. It just had to be Captain Blood developed by the French company Exxos (ERE informatique). A game which is the inspiration behind Eviral's work in progress fan game of 'THE BLOODIAN CHRONICLES'; a tribute to Captain Blood that was quoted in one retro magazine as "the more we wanted to continue playing, if only to meet more aliens".

Supercars 2 AGA - A rebuilt & adapted to Amiga AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996 is nearly complete

Way back in 2014 JOTD released the PC version of "Super Cars III" ; a game which was his own remake of the hit action racing classic "Super Cars II". Originally developed by Magnetic Fields and published by Gremlin Graphics in the early 90's for Amiga & Atari ST. Well fast forward to today however and do we have a great update for you. As JOTD has just released another version to his work in progress Supercars 2 AGA; A rebuilt & adapted to AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996. A game which in itself was a re-make of Super Cars II (tweaked gameplay, updated 256-color VGA graphics and a new soundtrack).

Super Delivery Boy - NeesoGames upcoming Amiga platformer gets a new update!

If you've been following the latest news stories on Indie Retro News regarding NeesoGames upcoming Amiga platformer of Mr. MOCHI'S DELIVERY SERVICE, well we've got another update for you. As not only has Saberman and Per Ola told us the game is now called Super Delivery Boy, but it's got a ton of new features for you to try in their latest beta build released yesterday.

Eye of the Beholder C64 - Early beta footage of the upcoming Eye of the Beholder C64 port!

For as long as the game was first announced we've been keeping you up to date in regards to Andreas Larsson‎ and team's work in progress Eye of the Beholder port that is coming to the C64, which looks as if it was released all those years ago along side the Amiga. Well you'll be pleased to know we've got a bit of special treat for you this week, as if you weren't following the Twitch stream last weekend, you can now see the entire stream below which shows the upcoming Eye of the Beholder C64 port being beta tested live.

Slow Mole - Rage inducing platformer for the NES gets a free beta

When it comes to games such as Meat Boy and VVVVV you just know the game is going to be fun but extremely challenging and sometimes frustrating as hell. Well along comes another game to drive you completely insane while remaining fun too, is Erik Rosenlund and team's upcoming NES game 'Slow Mole'; a hardcore puzzle platformer with a focus on challenging maneuvers and mind-bending puzzles available to try as a free beta.

Tinyus - An arcade quality Amiga OCS port of Gradius/Nemesis gets a beta release! (UPDATE)

We've just received some brilliant news via the EAB forums if you've got an Amiga or emulator at hand, as if you've played pink^abyss's previous Amiga versions of Tiny Invaders, Tiny Galaga and Tiny Bobble, then as of right now you can play the latest beta version of his work in progress Arcade conversion of Gradius/Nemesis; a side scrolling shoot-em-up that was originally released as a Japanese coinop way back in 1986.

Rygar AGA - An Amiga conversion of a great Arcade game gets a new beta!


We've been talking about the Amiga AGA conversion of the legendary Rygar game by Tecmo for sometime now, going back as far as when it was first announced last year much to the excitement of the Amiga community. Well after many updates and many shout outs through Amiga Bill's Twitch Stream, we are here to tell you there's been a new update improving on an already great work in progress conversion.

Unsung Warriors Prologue - 2D action adventure playable in co-op! ( Demo )


Just a short write up before I return tomorrow, but if you've got nothing to play this evening then how about playing the latest demo of ' Unsung Warriors - The Prologue ', which is available for PC, MAC and Linux. This game is a 2D action adventure set in Iron Age inspired Europe, whereby you need to fight your way through enemies and nasty traps, while also exploring the secrets of an ancient crypt.

Bomb Jack Beer Edition - WIP enhanced Amiga port of an Arcade classic is nearly complete!


It's a late one but by Jolly is this a good announcement, as Graeme Cowie has just released the latest beta version of his in development enhanced Amiga port of ' Bomb Jack '. Yes indeed it is time to shout out from the retro zone as Beta 7a of ' Bomb Jack Beer Edition ' has made an appearance and if anything according to the creator, it isn't just better but the game is nearly complete for a May release!
