Well this is amazing news, as if you were a huge fan of the Broken Sword games, more especially the Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, which is a graphic adventure developed by Revolution Software and published by Virgin Interactive back in 1996. Will pleased to know that this incredible game has been re-released as a Reforged edition through GOG and Steam. A new edition of the game which now features "glorious 4K visuals and iconic remastered audio, pitching intrepid American George Stobbart and fearless journalist Nico Collard into a journey of perilous adventures and ancient conspiracies".

Ambermoon.net - Open source remake of a fantastic CRPG gets a brand new 1.9.4 release!
Originally released in 1993 for the Amiga by Thalion Software, Ambermoon was the second part of an unfinished trilogy and sequel to Amberstar that was only released in Germany. In was an incredible RPG for its time, and featured 3D graphics that were considered revolutionary for the Amiga, but sadly for the company it couldn't save them from collapse. Well today's news is another special heads up for fans of this great game, as Pyrdacor has released the latest Ambermoon.net update of version 1.9.4: An open source Linux, Mac, Pi4 and Windows remake of this fantastic CRPG.

A Blast From The Past - A modern Galaxian remake that looks pretty decent! (Sega Mega Drive WIP too)
Galaxian has appeared on Indie Retro News many times over the years, especially as it is one particular Arcade classic that homebrew developers love making clones of with special effects and bonus power ups. I've always been a fan of the dungeon crawler, there's something to be said about moving through a dark underground passage, looking for loot, avoiding traps and fighting the many beasts that lurk within. In actual fact I'm more inclined to play an old retro first person grid based crawler than any top down modern one that's released today. And on that note, here's a dungeon crawler you should be keeping an eye on, and it's Wormwood Studios in development sci-fi horror dungeon crawler of Hibernaculum.

But today I was contacted about a brand new emulator update for Windows, MacOs and Linux, that had some rather interesting features which could make it one of the best emulators to be used at home your PC. As we've recently been informed through our email and Twitter, that Tall Story Games Ltd humorous point and click adventure game of 'Lucy Dreaming' is coming to Steam as of 18 Oct, 2022. Return to Monkey Island - Follow-up to a classic Adventure series will be setting sail today! [Released]
The Secret of Monkey Island developed by Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts) was originally released in 1990 and created by now industry legends Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman. It was a game that has lived on the hearts of many with its fantastic pirate charm, brilliant characters, challenging yet enjoyable puzzles, and a story set in a fictional version of the Caribbean during the age of piracy. Well if you remember that fine game and have been keeping an eye out for the sequel of 'Return to Monkey Island', then as of today you can finally play the game with all its pirate charm!
Kitsune Zero - A charming retro styled PC platformer as a nod to Super Mario Bros
If you want to play a new platformer that not only looks charming, but has plenty of enemies and challenges to be had, then as of this moment you can play the latest release of 'Kitsune Zero' by Kitsune Games. Call of Saregnar - A nod to the era of party-based RPGs from the 90's such as Betrayal at Krondor gets a demo!
Most of us here love a good dungeon crawler, from Eye of the Beholder to Legend of Grimrock and even the more recent Might and Magic. But when it comes to Call of Saregnar; a new RPG by Rhuantavan that is still in development with a demo now available, things are rather different. You see Call of Saregnar isn't just a nod to classic RPG's of the 90's but from the look of the game you'd be mistaken in thinking it was it was a love letter to another one of my all time favorites Betrayal at Krondor; a game in which GOG says is one of the most classic RPGs, chosen as the RPG of the year in 1994
Prince Of Persia - A hit platformer from 1989 gets a Unity Remake by HoussamChab
Another interesting news story for you all, as we have just been told through twitter, that the all time classic platformer of 'Prince of Persia'; a game which has been released for many different systems back in 1989 by Broderbund and a more recent high quality Atari XL/XE port that was featured on Indie Retro News last year, has been made available as a Unity remake for both Windows and MAC by HoussamChab.
Hyper Echelon - A high quality Shoot 'em up is coming to Steam Nov 11th and it looks great!
Growing up there was nothing more satisfying than playing top down scrolling shoot 'em ups such as the fantastic classic Tyrian and more especially Tyrian 2000 before it went open source in 2007. As for the story, which every cool adventure game needs, you play as Kathy Rain, as she tries to come to terms with her own troubled past as she investigates the mysterious death of her recently deceased grandfather!
