Lemmings Reloaded - This enhanced version of a classic looks awesome for the C64 (WIP)

Ask anyone about Lemmings, and their first memories, would probably be about a bunch of blue and green haired Lemmings that could be blown up, ripped apart and dropped from the highest of points before they even hope to reach that exit. So why is that great game getting another mention on Indie Retro News? Well at some point in the near future, it looks as if Jörg Karwath and team will be releasing an enhanced version of Lemmings for the C64. Although do be aware that while there are numerus tweets about the game, we don't as of yet have any full details.

Here's what we gathered from the tweets so far. Not only is this fan remake called Lemmings Reloaded, with programming by Jörg Karwath. But it also features over 55 themed levels, such as a jungle and demonic underground with pixel art from The Wilds creator @JohnHen65953721, and finally, fantastic music by @Nordischsound. And that's all we know so far but as soon as we know more, expect further updates this year right here on IndieRetroNews.

UPDATE : 1351 mouse support? YES!

  3. The tune in top video is a cover of Jean-Michel Jarre's Equinoxe, part 4 from 1978. :)

  5. So is this going to be having the stages from Lemmings,or Oh no! More Lemmings, or all new levels? Looks like they've went with designing their very own? At least I don't remember those two from the videos. Wish it was the original music too, but that's all okay, this may actually be the best Lemmings on the C64, easily!

  8. An update on development. 80 levels are now complete - aim is 100+. Levels are selected from the many releases, so the Amiga classics are there and the best that appeared on other systems such as Megadrive, PSP and Sunsoft special levels. Where a level design is strong but a theme is bland, new exclusive themes have been created especially (such as the jungle theme above) There are also a few C64 exclusive designs thrown into the mix.
