Then you may be interested to know that Captain DarkN3m0 is still working on a new Dungeon Crawler for the Amiga called 'The Cthulhu Project'; A horror like RPG which the creator says "is being developed using AMOS PRO as a 3D old school Dungeon Master like game". To coincide with this news, a new video has been posted which demonstrates the updated assets and code.

If you have an Amstrad or Amiga near by, chances are you would've come across the excellent homebrew Dungeon Crawler ' The Shadows of Sergoth '; a game which blew many of us away with fast coded graphics, deadly monsters and cool loot to find throughout. Although the big boxed edition is no longer for sale, the publisher Double Sided Games has disappeared into the nether, and my boxed edition which was due never arrived :(, you can at least play these new levels, which have been added in by quantumcodemonk.

Nearly every week I've featured either a platformer, puzzler or shooter. So to feature something completely different for a weekends worth of entertainment, is Red Zebra's latest game of Hafoc. A new ZX Spectrum game that as one person says, "Ooh, a dungeon crawler on the Spectrum!? You don't see those, very often...". Shadowmage - A new Amiga Dungeon Crawler which took 30 years to complete!
Another Commodore Amiga news story to keep you company, as Saberman was kind enough to inform us this evening, that quantumcodemonk has released the Amiga game of 'Shadowmage'. A Dungeon Crawler that was first coded back in 1994, but then the disks were lost, and development resumed (from memory) in 2020. To coincide with this news, we've got some more details about Shadowmage as well as footage of the game provided below.

Thalimar: Land of Chaos - An unreleased Amiga/PC dungeon crawler that's worth checking out
Year after year we usually go on about the latest games and unreleased titles seeing the light of day for the very first time, well here are with another unreleased game for you to "play test" , as thanks to our good friends GamesThatWeren't announcing it on Twitter, you too can try out a preview download of the unreleased game of 'Thalimar: Land of Chaos'. A game that was not only produced by Insomnia back in 1999 for the Amiga ( later PC ), but the game was very similar in style (and no doubt inspired by) the Ishar series of games except with a dark twist! To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a short play through of the game of which can be viewed below.

Dungeon and Souls - A dungeon crawling roguelike for your ZX Spectrum
If you have a ZX Spectrum you are sure to like this latest news update, as we've recently been informed by Saberman through Facebook. That HSE has released the Dungeon Crawling Roguelike of 'Dungeon and Souls' for the ZX Spectrum; A soul-like, dungeon crawling role playing game whereby the player explores procedurally generated 5 level dungeons slaying monsters, rooting chests, interacting with (well) NPCs. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also done a video showing the game in action.

I've always been a fan of the dungeon crawler, there's something to be said about moving through a dark underground passage, looking for loot, avoiding traps and fighting the many beasts that lurk within. In actual fact I'm more inclined to play an old retro first person grid based crawler than any top down modern one that's released today. And on that note, here's a dungeon crawler you should be keeping an eye on, and it's Wormwood Studios in development sci-fi horror dungeon crawler of Hibernaculum.
Ambermoon Advanced - A BIG unofficial extension and remake to a great Amiga RPG is here and it's AWESOME
We've featured 'Ambermoon' many times now on Indie Retro News from the updated Amiga version, to the open source PC remake. Both versions give you hours worth of enjoyment of an incredible 90's RPG that not only featured 3D graphics that were considered revolutionary for the Amiga, but it also had high-quality graphics, a large number of enemies and cities and more. Well today's news is yet again pretty special for those of you who loved playing this classic game back in the day, as Pyrdacor has just contacted us to let you know that Ambermoon Advanced has been released as episode 1 and 2 for the Amiga and PC.

As so many of you are aware by now we love Retro games, especially games that have been lost into the ages and through these modern times have finally been recovered for many of us to enjoy. This is especially true for games such as Daffy Duck And The Great Paint Caper which was released on the C64. Thankfully more games are being recovered, as thanks to a heads up from Galahad via EAB, we have been told that Scoopex has made available a new and unreleased Amiga follow up to Lords of Time called Riamel Black Prophecy; A rather large 3 disk Amiga game that looks to have been originally created by Steve Postma and Bob Postma!
Blackest Crypt - 5 new maps for one of the best Amiga Dungeon Crawlers 'Black Crypt'
If you loved old school RPG games, especially Dungeon Crawlers from the era of the Amiga or PC(DOS), then you will be drooling over this epic update of RPG goodness. As thanks to Solo who gave us the heads up in our email, we've been told the classic 1992 game of Black Crypt, has been unofficially updated with a set of 5 new maps the developer is calling 'Blackest Crypt'. Although we are not sure of what the maps are like, you're welcome to try them out on your Amiga linked below.
