Well this is great news for Friday, as the Commodore Plus/4 scene has just received another port with the full release of System 3's 'International Karate', coded by the talented developer Ati. First teased as a promising preview at last year’s Arok Party, this highly anticipated port is now complete and ready to be downloaded and enjoyed by all. Players can once again lace up their boots and fight their way through iconic global backdrops, testing their skills as they climb the ranks from a humble white belt all the way to a prestigious black belt.

Retrogods - A blend of strategic stealth and time-manipulation mechanics in this new plus/4 preview

The Commodore Plus/4 has recently received a playable build of Retrogods. Developed by System Syndrome, the title first generated excitement last year after debuting as a preview entry among five competing titles at the prominent Arok party game development competition. In this fresh tease, players control Grágel, a digital wizard who possesses the unique ability to rewind time by eight seconds, as he navigates a collapsing virtual realm. Grágel is joined on his quest by a small mouse companion named Rudin, who specializes in sneaking into tight spaces. Together, the duo must gather scattered runestone pieces to secure their escape while evading An Fuath, a massive, logic-driven Golem boss tasked with wiping out unapproved code.

Scramble Arcade - An incredible conversion coded by Epy for the Commodore Plus/4

Over 40 years after the birth of an arcade legend, a groundbreaking new release is redefining what the humble Commodore Plus/4 can achieve. Coded by retro-development maestro Epy (Géza Eperjessy), Scramble Arcade has officially landed on the system, delivering a breathtaking 1:1 conversion that matches the original 1981 coin-op machine pixel for pixel and collision for collision. Dr.Margo - Dr.Mario unofficially arrives on the Commodore Plus/4 thanks to Csabo & KiCHY

Dr. Mario.....I mean, Dr.Margo! Has officially arrived on the Commodore Plus/4, delivering a brilliant clone of the iconic puzzle classic Dr. Mario directly to Plus/4 owners that loved this game back in the early 90's. Released as freeware, this highly polished title serves as a perfect piece of "medicine for the soul," pairing addictive tile-matching mechanics with flawless execution by both Csabo & KiCHY. Gem'X Lite - A fast-paced puzzle title for the Commodore Plus/4 by Pzsolt and Hege8

A late entry hits the retro scene just in time for the competition deadline. Retro gaming fans have a new reason to dust off their Commodore Plus/4 systems. Just before the latest competition cutoff, developer pzsolt has officially launched Gem'X Lite, a fast-paced puzzle title now available on Plus/4 World. Gem'X Lite challenges players to master its pattern-matching mechanics. The goal is simple but demanding: you must recreate a target configuration by toggling coloured diamonds on a grid. The catch? Every move counts. Flipping a tile doesn't just change that specific diamond; it also affects every neighbouring tile in the grid. Strategy and foresight are essential to align the pieces before the timer expires.

Jungle Joe - A new puzzle platformer makes an appearance on the Commodore Plus/4

The 220 Volt Team (220V) officially brings their latest project, Jungle Joe, to the Commodore Plus/4. Following a festive "Jungle Joe Xmas" demo released in late 2025, the full adventure has now arrived for the 64K machine. Far from a mindless button-masher, the game is more of a tactical experience where "survival is not about quick reflexes, but about a cool head and foresight". Randoom - A challenging yet enjoyable Commodore Plus/4 game has been released! ( Previously for the C64 and MSX )

The news just keeps on coming, as if Defender of the Crown and Deuteros coming as a remake to your PC wasn't enough to whet your appetite, then you might be interested to learn as thanks to a heads up from Saberman through Facebook, you can now download the latest Commodore Plus/4 game of Randoom by Csabo, Epy, SukkoPera and Unreal ; a brand Arcade puzzle game in which you need to clear all the squares throughout 31 fun packed levels to win the game! 

Ghosts'n Goblins (Arcade version) has been released for the Commodore plus/4 (64kB) and it's glorious!

In 1985 Capcom released one of the coolest Arcade games ever to grace the gaming scene, and that game was the incredible Ghosts'n Goblins which appeared on lots of different systems. It is a game that if you haven't played it, you are seriously missing out! So as a shout out to that awesome game of which I have played a lot, we have just found out through Facebook that an Arcade like version of Ghosts'n Goblins has arrived on the Plus/4, and it's glorious!

Stab'N Dash - The Commodore Plus/4 gets another fantastic version of Green Beret

No sooner had I featured the hot news story of Sonic the Hedgehog coming to the Amiga 500 and Amiga 1200 than I found out through Facebook that Csabo, KiCHY, and The Sarge has released Stab'N Dash for the Commodore Plus/4. An overhauled version of Green Beret developed with top-notch coding, graphics, and high quality music. Death Sector - A rather decent sci-fi themed arcade puzzler for the Commodore Plus/4 or 64K expanded C16/C116

The Commodore Plus/4 has been spoilt with gaming news this year, as not only did we have a number of recoveries such as The Bard's Tale and Dragon Wars, but in July of this year, we also had the fantastic Donkey Kong. Well here's another great release for the Commodore Plus/4 as well as the 64k expanded C16/C116, it's a new game called Death Sector. A rather decent looking sci-fi themed arcade puzzler by Csabo, KiCHY, Unreal, TLC and BSZ.

Zodiac Deluxe - An updated version of the original with many changes and extras for the Plus/4

If you remember playing the C16 classic game Zodiac, which was published by Anirog in 1985, then come and check out the latest release of 'Zodiac Deluxe' for the Plus/4 by Legion Of Doom (LOD), with coding by Csabo, and graphics by KiCHY. An updated version of the original, that includes many changes and extras. As in the words of the website "If you're curious what would a 1985 game with a fresh new coat of paint would look like, check it out". The Bard's Tale - One of the earliest RPG's makes an appearance on the Commodore Plus/4

The Plus/4 World website has surprised us with yet another new recovery! As they have informed the Plus/4 Facebook page, that the 1985 Interplay Productions RPG has been recovered for the Commodore Plus/4 by Csory and Siz. As in the words of the website. "Today, we put a period at the end of a very long story. We were talking about missing this release as far back as 2002, and many times after that. The good news: thanks to Csory and siz, we now have a working version of Bard's Tale"

Dragon Wars - A 1989 Interplay Productions RPG has been recovered for the Commodore Plus/4

The Plus/4 World website has surprised us with a new recovery! As they have informed the community, that the 1989 Interplay Productions RPG has been recovered for the Commodore Plus/4 by Csory. A game that not only made an appearance on many other systems, but this game was originally created by the talents of the Bard's Tale series, Wasteland, and Battle Chess in the hope to create the ultimate role-playing fantasy. Phil's Adventure - This arcade platformer for the Plus/4 is pretty decent!

Donkey Kong wasn't the only brilliant release this week for the Plus/4, as another game worth mentioning on Indie Retro News, which was entered into the Arok Party 2025, is Epy and Csabo's arcade platformer of 'Phil's Adventure'. A game whereby you need to traverse many different rooms, avoiding enemies, while also flipping switches and collecting a key to open the door to exit to the next level. Donkey Kong for the Commodore Plus/4 looks fantastic!

If you've been living in a cave or just too young, you probably wouldn't remember one of the greatest retro games of all time, the 1981 Nintendo game ' Donkey Kong '. A game in which you played as Mario, that must avoid rolling barrels, sometimes with a hammer in hand, to save a damsel in distress from a giant ape called Donkey Kong. If however you do remember the game or just want to experience it on your Commodore Plus/4. Then make sure to check out this latest release by Csabo, TCFS and Unreal.

Kye - A C64 port of Colin Garbutt's puzzle game from 1992 [UPDATE & Commodore Plus/4]

Another challenging puzzler has graced our C64 screens today, as thanks to Saberman letting us know through Facebook, he has told us that if you head on over to the itch.io website linked below, you can download the latest release of 'Kye' by cobbpg ; A C64 port of Colin Garbutt's puzzle game from 1992, Kye. The Tale - A new CRPG with PETSCII graphics for the Plus/4 by Synergy

Another Plus/4 announcement of which RPG genre fans might enjoy reading about, is the fact that Synergy has released the Ultima like CPRG of The Tale for the Commodore Plus/4. A full-fledged entry in the BASIC category of the Commodore Plus/4 játékfejlesztői verseny Plus/4 GameDev competition . A game that features rather large PETSCII graphics during the story. Gravity Boy! - Navigate a space station by manipulating gravity in this new Plus/4 game!

With two competitions currently on going, the ' TND SEUCK Compo 2025' and the 'game programming competition', it's always worth checking out both of these, to see if any special games have been entered that's worthy of our attention. Well that's certainly happened this week, as LBM has entered their new Plus/4 game of 'Gravity Boy!'. A cool entry that doesn't just look rather unique with its monochrome graphics, but it's also fun to play with challenges to be had via each level.

Docsters Digger - A Bonus C64 game released with Mancave in 2019 gets a Plus/4 port by 220 Volt Team (220V)

During 2019 Psytronik Software released(link) a C64 game by Megastyle called ' Mancave '; a game which follows the hilarious adventures of Richard Morningwood who has the unfortunate task of gathering up the pages of some rather naughty magazines that have been nabbed from his secret stash by his pesky kids. Well if you were fortunate enough to purchase that great C64 game, and the bonus game contained within called ' Docster's Digger '. Will be pleased to know that 220 Volt Team (220V) has recently ported 'Docster's Digger' over to the Plus/4!

Binary Battle - A unique take on the Dungeon Crawler experience for the C64/Plus4/MSX [UPDATE]

We've featured many Dungeon Crawlers over the years, from ones such as Eye of the Beholder, with its first person grid based movement, to the top down turn based ones such as Descending Dungeons. This game however called 'Binary Battle' by Haplo and team, is not only a dungeon crawler, but according to the creator "is a novel take on the genre that is inspired by GEOS and the PC game Folder Dungeon". A game that can be seen being played in this latest footage sent to us by Saberman of the MSX and Plus/4 version.
