Retro racing fans have a rare opportunity to experience a piece of "lost" Amiga history with the latest demo 5 download of SpeedManiaX, a Super Cars like racer, that Luigi Recanatese says "is intended to represent the evolution of the game 30 years after its conception". Trap - A lost prototype originally a C64 release appears on the Atari XL/XE!

Throughout the years we've featured many lost and recovered games, this is especially true when it comes to either the Amiga or the Commodore 64. Well, today's news is a bit of a special one. As if you have an Atari XL/XE however, we've been told that the 1986 game 'Trap', which featured music by Ben Daglish, has been recovered as a prototype for the Atari XL/XE. A game whereby some have commented for the Commodore 64 version, that it requires patience to play, is rather difficult but was one of Antony Crowther better C64 games.

To coincide with this news, provided below is the latest footage and game info from the Plus/4 world Facebook page.

Duke Nukem 4Ever - A prototype build for a scrapped sidescrolling 2D version of Duke Nukem Forever has been recovered!

Apogee Software certainly released some great games in the 90's, games such as Monster Bash, Bio Menace and even our personal favorite Duke Nukem. Well one game you've probably never heard of is the platformer version of Duke Nukem 4Ever. That's because while the game did start its life as a side-scrolling platform shooter in 1996 by 3D Realms, it was scrapped and became lost in the sands of time. We had the pleasure of playing Duke Nukem 3D in 1996 by 3D Realms and the misfortune of playing the first person shooter of Duke Nukem Forever by Gearbox Software in 2011.

Thankfully more games are being recovered, as thanks to a heads up from GamesThatWerent, we now know that another Andromeda preview as 'Journalist', has been found and recovered thanks to Thomas Sol Sunhede and Hedning, Zynon and Whisper of Genesis Project.

Excalibur and Taxi Driver - Hot news as two ZX Spectrum games lost and finally found!

During our many write ups we do love writing about old retro games that people have never heard of, or those that have been lost through the years and for one reason or another have been uncovered, much to the amazement of the community. Today's release for example is a double bonanza, as thanks to The Spanish site El Trastero del Spectrum, they have uncovered a number of ZX Spectrum games that were thought to be lost, 'Excalibur' and 'Taxi Driver'.
