A late entry hits the retro scene just in time for the competition deadline. Retro gaming fans have a new reason to dust off their Commodore Plus/4 systems. Just before the latest competition cutoff, developer pzsolt has officially launched Gem'X Lite, a fast-paced puzzle title now available on Plus/4 World. Gem'X Lite challenges players to master its pattern-matching mechanics. The goal is simple but demanding: you must recreate a target configuration by toggling coloured diamonds on a grid. The catch? Every move counts. Flipping a tile doesn't just change that specific diamond; it also affects every neighbouring tile in the grid. Strategy and foresight are essential to align the pieces before the timer expires.
Here's the latest "The original logic puzzle game Gem'X was released on Amiga and C64. Based on these, the Commodore Plus/4 version of Gem'X Lite was created, in which the gameplay is the same, but only 16 levels have to be solved, randomly selected from 32 levels. The goal of the game is to copy the pattern from the right side to the left side. To do this, use the cursor keys and press Space, which changes the diamonds:"
- - the selected one toggles twice
- - the four neighboring toggles once
"This toggle order is: red -> green -> blue -> purple -> yellow -> and finally it disappears. At first glance, it doesn't seem difficult, but then it turns out that it's not that easy, because time is also working against us. Have fun!"
