Kitsune Zero - A charming retro styled PC platformer as a nod to Super Mario Bros

If you want to play a new platformer that not only looks charming, but has plenty of enemies and challenges to be had, then as of this moment you can play the latest release of 'Kitsune Zero' by Kitsune Games. A lovely arcade platformer that isn't just a nod to classic retro games such as Super Mario Bros, but throughout the game you'll be running, jumping, and stomping on ghostlike creatures from Japanese folklore. To coincide with this news there's a new video to watch below as a trailer to the game which is available on Itch io and Steam for Linux, Mac or Windows.

Here is what the website describes about this lovely looking game called Kitsune Zero. "Run, jump, and stomp on ghostlike creatures from Japanese folklore lurking in the countryside and castles. Collect powerups that make Yumi grow in size, grant fireball abilities, and make her invincible for a short time. Gather the necessary ingredients to break the pact's magic and take down the leader of the samurai clan to end the war".

"Defeat a sinister samurai gang to stop the clan’s war of conquest. Hear the cries of the local onmyouji, a wizardly bureaucrat assigned to keep the peace, and end the magical pact the samurai have with vengeful spirits. Only Yumi can break the alliance and restore peace… and maybe get to go on a date for her trouble. Gather the necessary ingredients to stop the dark pact’s magic and the leader of the samurai clan once and for all. But beware, you may need to save a damsel, err, a dashing gentleman in distress!"
