We don't often feature competitions as we usually focus on game jams whereby a person at home needs to create a specific game hoping to win that top spot and their game featured at some point on Indie Retro News. Well here we are with something different, as thanks to Milo Mundt contacting us just recently, he has told us that Protovision is not only running a competition with no coding skills or anything required, but all you need to do is download the Pieces II Level Editor and create a new game level for the upcoming game of 'Pieces II'. (The best entries shall be included in the final Pieces II release and Every qualified participant receives a 5€ voucher for the Protovision Shop)

Falling - Difficult arcade bouncer for C64
The RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition 2014 is still ongoing and today's C64 feature is "Falling" by saulc12 & Wanax. In this rather difficult game of which I didn't get very far at all, your objective is to get the highest score possible by falling or bouncing down without touching the spikes or deadly objects. You can even die if you bounce too early and reach the bottom of the screen before a platform appears. It's a nice smooth effort for a competition entry but as I stated earlier it's a bit too difficult for me.
