The latest SEUCK competition entry has appeared and it's 'Jessica Steel - Bloodmonger' by Christian Siege and Richard/TND. This homebrew C64 title is an arcade action game that features side scrolling gameplay, enemy avoidance and one of the best tunes to appear in the competition. While it isn't the best game that's been added to the competition, if you have a C64 set up with some decent speakers you'll be turning that volume right up!
Puppix - The Cabbage Forest - A charming SEUCK game by Pinov Vox for the C64
I haven't featured a SEUCK Competition entry for some time, so to change all that here's a new game released for the Commodore 64, it's Puppix - The Cabbage Forest by Pinov Vox, Fabs, and Richard Bayliss, A Halloween themed action game created using the Sideways Scrolling SEUCK Left 2008 version. Star Skimmer Enhanced - A pretty decent SEUCK C64 game from Alf Yngve and Martin Piper [UPDATE]
Another SEUCK competition entry has appeared, and it's 'Star Skimmer' by Alf Yngve and Martin Piper. This homebrew Commodore 64 title, is a arcade Shoot 'em up, that features vertical scrolling gameplay, different enemy waves, and plenty of laser blasting action. In regards to the story however, you play as Cole Skimmer who is on a very deadly mission to stop the evil Nitwup empire from hatching a plot to take over Planet Earth. SEUCK Compo 2025 Prize Pack released by The New Dimension for the C64
Throughout this year I've been writing about many of the games that were announced and entered into the SEUCK competition provided by The New Dimension. Games such as Star Skimmer, Spy Kombat and Poltergeist Hellschool. Well fast forward to today however, and with the competition over. The New Dimension has released the SEUCK Compo 2025 prize package. A package that contains all the entries from the competition, as well as enhanced versions of some of the games for you to play right now. In light of this news, Saberman has shown off one of the games called 'Hyper Hive'. A quality shoot 'em up using the SEUCK Redux and the ACME cross-assembler by Richard/TND, Blazon and Martin Piper.

Mega Vortex 2 - A top scrolling C64 shoot 'em up entered into the SEUCK Compo 2025!
Trawling through the latest SEUCK Compo 2025 entries looking for a fun C64 game to play, and one that stood out in the crowd, was Vox VideoGame's C64 Shoot 'em up of ' Mega Vortex 2 '. A game in which you play as Pinov Vox, a fearless space pilot of Mega Vortex 2 on a mission to destroy the evil Megaloryan emperor and his minions. Forgotten Forest 2 - A creepy enhanced SEUCK game for the Commodore 64!

Herisferix - An enhanced Shoot 'em up for your Commodore 64 by TND
The Commodore 64 news just keeps on coming this week, as earlier today we were informed by our good friend and Youtubber Saberman, that TND has released a new C64 game called 'Herisferix'; An enhanced version of a SEUCK game that according to the team behind the game features "pretty cool enhancements, such as enemy firing intelligence, some power ups and no SEUCK slowdown syndrome". To coincide with this news, Saberman has also provided a video showing the game in action.
Mediterranean Air War - A 1942 and 1943 inspiration arrives on the C64 (SEUCK)
In 1984 a great shoot 'em up was released for the Arcade by Capcom and that game was 1942. A game in which you shoot down enemy planes, avoided being shot out of the sky and performed awesome rolls while collecting power ups. One of the more unusual power ups was being escorted by two other planes in formation that gave you the edge. It was an awesome game and still is today, but thanks huffelduff we have a brand new SEUCK game on the C64 that is inspired by 1942/3 and is called 'Mediterranean Air War'.

Here on Indie Retro News we've featured so many SEUCK based games, we even thought of renaming the website as an April Fools joke. The problem however is while some are very good, there's a vast majority out there that are pretty tedious and generally don't get much in the way of favorable response. Thankfully the latest release by Commodore Spain is one of those 'Good' games, as if you give their new game a try called ' Naddando ' i'm sure you'll agree it's pretty half decent.
Nucleo 448 - A cool SEUCK C64 sci-fi shoot 'em up
Trawling through the latest SEUCK Compo 2020 enteries looking for a decent C64 game to play, and one that stood out in the crowd was Leonardo Vettori's updated C64 Shoot em up of ' Nucleo 448 '. This game according to The New Dimension, is an updated version of Nucleo 447 from the C64 SEUCK Compo 2019, that is enhanced with aiming aliens, a new status panel, power ups and a kick ass tune by Richard Bayliss with tape loader by Martin Piper!
Spearhead - Large sprite C64 shoot em up released for the C64
Another day and another C64 announcement, as trawling through the latest dimension updates, we've come across a new game from Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss called 'Spearhead'; a large sprite SEUCK developed game, in which your mission is to fly the Spearhead fighter across hostile territory, and destroy the four enemy strongholds. If you succeed in blasting the fourth and final stronghold, the message "YOU DID IT!" will appear and you've won the game!
Synthia in the Cyber Crypt - A C64 platform adventure game created using SEUCK
When it comes to SEUCK developed games they are usually side scrolling action titles, or in the case of most of our write ups.....Shoot em ups. Thankfully 'Synthia in the Cyber Crypt' developed for the latest compo is a bit of a rare breed, as not only was it developed using SEUCK, but instead of the usual type of game, this one is an enhanced platform adventure game with aid of VICE, an Action Replay cartridge (or VICE monitor) and a rather clever programming mind.
The Official C64 SEUCK Compo of 2020 is ready for awesome C64 games
Last year the Commodore 64 saw some of its finest releases with the likes of King's Valley+, L'abbaye Des Morts, Manic Miner 64DX and Neutron giving all of us plenty of reasons to fire up our hardware and emulators. Thankfully even those without coding experience are able to get involved, as The New Dimension are now running another Shootemup Construction Kit (SEUCK) competition titled as The Official C64 SEUCK Compo of 2020!

According to the team behind the game such as Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss, Forgotten Forest is a side scrolling action game as a C64 clone of the classic Forbidden Forest!
Rocket 'N Roll - A new SEUCK game by Richard Bayliss for the C64
Another game to add to a long list of C64 designed shoot em ups, as we've recently been told by Saberman that The New Dimension has released a brand new shoot em up called ' Rocket 'N Roll ' for the C64! This game developed by Richard Bayliss, pits your rocket against an unknown force, as you must guide your rocket through 4 different zones to try to find your destination for exploration ie The sun.
Vortex - An enjoyable SEUCK C64 game by Pinov Vox
Trawling through the latest SEUCK Compo 2019 enteries looking for a decent C64 game to play, and one that stood out in the crowd was Pinov Vox's new C64 Shoot em up ' Vortex '. This game as the 9th entry in the competition which is a vertical scrolling shooter, is a new game that uses the developers unreleased SEUCK + Charpad front end framework, that will hopefully show the quality of the game in this latest offering.
Pagoda Warrior II - A brand new C64 game featuring music by Richard Bayliss!
The C64 news just keeps on coming, as earlier today we were informed by the developer Stefano "Mc.Valdemar" Canali, that he had released a new C64 game called ' Pagoda Warrior II '; a brand new game featuring music by Richard Bayliss that has been entered in the C64 SEUCK Competition as a follow up to an unreleased SEUCK game he did many years ago lost when he sold all of his Commodore gear.
Star MIG - Blast away enemies in space in this SEUCK Compo C64 shooter
I know many of you are still calming down after finding out that the C64 version of Super Mario Bros was not fake but the real deal, but you might also be interested in playing this fine little shoot em up that was released recently called ' Star MIG '. Now unlike the platforming fun of Super Mario Bros, this one is a top scrolling shoot em up developed by VG VOX, with music by Richard Bayliss and SEUCK Version standard by Sensible Soff
